Lee and Carrie

Have you ever heard something 50 times only to have it hit differently on that 51st time?  Well, that's what happened to me (Carrie) on a recent flight home from Minneapolis.

As I was watching a show series called "Couples Therapy" on my flight, I had a revelation about my internal struggles and Lee's role regarding my struggles. What I heard on this show wasn't much different than what I've already heard in therapy, in conversations with Lee, or in books I've read. For some reason, however, I "heard heard" the message this time.  My prediction is that I was able to view other people struggling in their marriages from an outsider's point of view. Because it wasn't personal, I could truly see and hear what was going on within these marriages.

The ultimate message that hit me like a ton of bricks on the flight home that day was, "Lee isn't responsible for bearing the burden of your hurt, fears, or childhood wounds. He shouldn't have to bear the burden of where you feel insufficient. That's your job."

Again, I've had a head knowledge of this for a long time now, and have even practiced living it out. However, it truly resonated with me for some reason on my recent flight home. Listen in as we chat about this subject, as well as talk about how powerful the subconscious mind is.
