Speaker 1:

Hey everybody, welcome back to another episode of Shooting from the Circle, a podcast where we follow the Rumballara Football Netball Club's A-grade side on a quest for a premiership in 2024. I'm your host, brett. Thank you very much for listening. Sorry this is late. Had a few things going on. Normally I do this previews segment on a Tuesday, but unfortunately I couldn't do that so it's a Friday night. I know it's a bit late and I apologize.

Speaker 1:

So this week the Rumballara Football Netball Club's A-grade side ventured down the road again over their border into Barooga, which is a small country town on the other side of the river from Cobram. So they head over to Baro tomorrow to face Baruga Lions. Now look, unfortunately I think there's going to be some records broken tomorrow. To be honest, I'm pretty sure a scoring record will be broken. Baruga at the moment they're sitting last. They've only had a draw. They've got a percentage of 48.9 um. If we look at their fours and against um yeah, fours they've only shot 245 goals out of 10 games and they've had 501 shot against them. So when you look at that, yeah, they're averaging 24 goals a game, um which, when you look at rumballara, they are averaging 64 goals a game. So they're sitting on 647, uh, averaging 35 goals, that they're stopped from shoot, that they're letting other teams well, they're averaging 50. So, yeah, honestly, I think it's going to be an absolute annihilation. And that's no disrespect to Beruga and I'm being quite honest, that's not a disrespect to them. That's just probably just how it's going to go.

Speaker 1:

I don't think baruga has the talent or the capabilities to uh, stop rumble iris um, scoring now and saying that rumble iris might turn around and maybe rest some girls. I know emily's back, uh, finally from being overseas, so she's been away for five weeks. I'm not real sure whether Madika will play, but, yeah, when you've got that shooting power of Jesse Barnes and Sophie Atkinson, I personally really think that there's going to be some records broken tomorrow. Yeah, we might see this year I don't even think I've seen it last year but we might even see the first 100-goal game which, yeah, unfortunate for Beruga that they're going to probably be on the end of it, but I mean, that's just the way it is.

Speaker 1:

I hope, yeah, for Beruga, that they actually probably, you know, show a bit. I hope that they, yeah, they come out and show a bit, because obviously they're rebuilding, they're still learning whatnot. So hopefully, yeah, as I said, that they come out and they show a little bit of fight, but I honestly cannot see this going any other way. To be honest, I really can't. I think, the quality of RumbleR aside, well, yeah, I don't think Beruga have got the talent. I know they haven't got the talent because I said they've only, you know, they've only had a draw for the year, um, and they've only shot 24, 24 and a half goals a game, which is not enough to win games. That's not, you know. So, yeah, so, unfortunately, as I said, rumbelara are going to go over there tomorrow, potentially break scoring records, defensive records. Yeah, it's just going to be another feather in the cap for Rumbelara on their quest to be undefeated actually this year, the way. It's just going to be another feather in the cap for Rambalara on their quest to be undefeated actually this year. The way it's going, um, uh, yeah, but they'll be really, really wanting to put the um the foot to the throat of the Baruga girls, because they just, yeah, they want to build their percentage, because, yeah, their last, probably three games are going to be the toughest, uh, for this year, and that's Denny, then Moema, then Tongala. So, yeah, they really want to. You know, if they drop one or two games, they really want to be able to solidify with big percentage, and I think tomorrow will be that game. There's nothing really positive. I do apologise to Beruga, but there's not really. There isn't really much positive that I can take out of it what Beruga's done this year.

Speaker 1:

As I said, they had a draw against Numerica. Now, yeah, we can look at Beruga's games from you know, say from day dot. We'll have a look. You know they were close to Cobham and Cobham's probably. That's probably an indication where they were. So you know what's that? That's eight 14-goal win. No, actually 13-goal win to Cobham. So they were pretty close there. They played Moela. They only scored 25 goals to 51. So it was a 26-goal win to Moela.

Speaker 1:

Then you go on to round three. They played Nathalia. Yeah, nathalia, after rumballara destroyed them last week, nathalia really hasn't got a shooting. They really don't have a big shooting um uh side. So, yeah, they scored 47 to brugas 10. I know nathalia's defensive in. You know that didn't show on the weekend against Rambalara, unfortunately. But yeah, they only let Beruga score 10 goals.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, as I said, you look at their games and they've been getting smashed and unfortunately, tomorrow, yeah, tongala reigning premiers. Yeah, rambalara beat them by 29 goals, but they scored 68 to 20. They only had Beruga 20 goals. Yeah, I don't think it's going to be very pretty tomorrow for Beruga. Finlay, yeah, what's that? That's 20, 25 goals, 54 to 29. So, yeah, and finley, uh, yeah, they're up and running at the moment.

Speaker 1:

Then you, then you go on to yeah, here's another one. They went to moama, yeah, moama's got a great defensive side and they've also got a great shooting side, and it was 65 to 18. Um, excuse me, excuse me. So for Beruga, I really I can't see them doing anything, to be honest, tomorrow. You know they played a cheeky night, a cheeky night. You know, they're down there in that lower end of the ladder and they scored 48 to 28 in round seven. So in round eight, beruga, they, they played numerica and that was their draw. So sort of tells you exactly whereabouts beruga are.

Speaker 1:

Um, within the murray league in the a grade, and then they played. Did they play well? Actually, beruga had a win. Yeah, well, there you go. They've had, they've actually had a win and a draw. So I apologize to Beruga. They actually beat Cobram by one goal. I did not know that. So there we go. I should have. Yeah, we probably should have done my research a little bit better. So I apologize to Beruga, but they did have a win against Cobram. So they beat Cobham 38-37. Now that's not a bad effort, because Cobham weren't too bad, and I think Cobham beat them first game, so that's not too bad at all. So, yeah, I'll take all that back.

Speaker 1:

As I said, I apologize to Borussia. I didn't know that they'd had a win, but tomorrow they're coming up against an absolute, the mighty Rumballara side, that's, as I said, they're undefeated at the moment. I don't think they're going to get defeated tomorrow. Their shooting is just absolutely exceptional. Their defense is exceptional. As I said, they've got Emily back tomorrow, I think they've got Madika, you've got Kai, you've got Lani, you've got Lavelle Jura, they've got a lot of young girls in their mid-court that can step up and, as I said, I don't think Beruga have got the talent. And unfortunately, as I said, I honestly really think that's going to be some records broken tomorrow, some shooting records, and I think tomorrow we might see our very first 100-goal game. And, yeah, as I said, it's unfortunate for Bruggett that they're going to have to be on the end of it. But that's just the way the cookie crumbles and I know that Rumbler are going to be relentless. Tomorrow they will, yeah, they will, just yeah. It's like throwing lamps to the slaughter.

Speaker 1:

To be honest, this game tomorrow it's not going to be pretty. It's not going to be pretty to watch if you're a Beruga supporter, probably not going to be pretty to play in if you're a Beruga player. But anyway, that is what it is. That's all I've got to say.

Speaker 1:

To be honest, with this game it's not much I can really preview, because I don't think Beruga is really going to give them too much. I really don't think that they will give them much at all. They might put up a fight for the first five, ten minutes and, as I said, I do apologize. I didn't think they'd won a game, but they obviously won against Cobham and come and draw against Numerica. But tomorrow I don't think Baruga's going to get their second win and I really think tomorrow Rumble R will get their 11th and maybe, quite possibly, it's on the cards that they'll get a hundred goal game um, and that's not 100 goals that they'll win by, that's 100 goals, that rumble I'll shoot. So be prepared for possibly a scoring record to be broken tomorrow.

Speaker 1:

So, um, as I said, there's not much else I can say about this game. Unfortunately, aruga isuga is just not going to be cut up to it. So that is me, brett. Thank you very much for listening. I apologize that it's late and I do apologize to Arruga. They did win a game. I said they hadn't. So I need to do a little bit more research before I come on to my podcast, so lessons learned, before I come on to my podcast, so lessons learned.

Speaker 1:

But, as I said, I think honestly, I think Rumble R will beat them by 80 goals tomorrow. That's my prediction. I know people could say, well, that's a bit arrogant of you, but I really think it's going to be a 100-goal game tomorrow, first one for this year and, I'm pretty sure, first one for the last two years. So that is my prediction. That is me, brett. Thank you again for listening. I really appreciate it.

Speaker 1:

On Sunday I'll definitely be on time with the review of the game and how the game went. So enjoy your night, have a great weekend, please be safe, but go out and watch some netball because it's very underrated. Not a lot of people get told to go out and watch netball. A lot of people want to go watch the football, but please go out and watch a game of netball. These girls, absolutely some of them, are superstars and, as I said, unfortunately I think there'll be another 100-goal game tomorrow and I really think Rumballara will probably win by 80, maybe 90 goals. So that is me, brett. Thank you again for listening. I'll have a review on um sunday and I'm out. Bye.
