I would take mid-upper 50s for overnight lows , absolutely , because it's nice , just a little touch of cool . And then when you get up in the morning it's going to be not a bad day 82 , not as windy as it has been . No chance of rain until maybe Saturday , just a little better chance of rain comes in . So there's a lot of outdoor stuff this weekend , excuse me , so if you're going to be outside you could see a pop-up shower , maybe a thunderstorm , but it's not going to rain all day Coming up .

Speaker 1And then the most popular flavors nationwide are vanilla chocolate and your favorite peach , love peach , and I told you I've got a recipe for a pina colada homemade ice cream . Oh , no alcohol , it's . You make your regular ice cream vanilla mix . Then you add a jar of the maraschino cherries with juice and all , and then you get the . It's a cup but it's like it's a pina colada mix that you put into like the blender to make the frozen . You get that and put it in there . Man , if you like a pina colada , this is good , it's good stuff . I bet that's good .

Fast Food Prices on the Rise

Speaker 3It's going to be a good one . And then I've got something to think about . Okay , what you got . Well , I've been thinking I'm not sure which is longer A microwave minute or a treadmill minute .
Speaker 1Oh , that's a deep thought , because they both last so long Forever .
Speaker 3They both last about five hours .
Speaker 1Because the microwave . You're sitting there , you're hungry . It's a minute . Then the treadmill you're walking and you thought I'm about to die . Yes , it's gonna be longer than a minute , so I don't know which one is longer that is a good , good thought .

Speaker 1I think it goes with the beard , yeah , and just kind of the blue jean just everyday cowboy baseball just everyday person look , but I love Luke Holmes oh yeah .
Speaker 1Love his music . 623 , sunshine today Going to hit 82 , 82 . Not bad at all this morning , feeling good . It's 58 here at qsb . Surely you can't be serious ? I am serious and don't call me surely totally serious on this one fast food . We were talking about this a few weeks ago , but you cannot go through a drive-through or sit down anymore and get a meal for less than probably nine bucks , would you say .
Speaker 3I would say ten bucks ?
Speaker 1yeah , because this morning you drove through and got you a biscuit and gravy . Yep uh , got yourself the sweet tea and me a sweet tea yeah how much ? Eight dollars for a bit . One biscuit with gravy on it , yeah , two large sweet teas yes , that's all amazing .
Speaker 3And yesterday morning I went through and got a large coffee and a large sweet tea and a medium dot dark pepper . Seven dollars , seven dollars , seven dollars for three drinks that's ridiculous .
Speaker 1Well , check out . The new survey came out this morning . Uh , four out of five americans say fast food is now becoming more of a luxury than they need something they can live without and they plan to live without . Yeah , I know , I read a story saying the past 12 months , fast food businesses have really lost . Well , haven't lost money , but their profits have gone down big time in the past year . Food prices fast food prices are up almost 5% since last year and they're up 47% since 2014 .
Speaker 1Wow , In 10 years they've gone up almost 50 percent . Wow , fast food prices and a new survey . More than 2 000 consumers found that many diners are are now having a hard time going through fast food like they used to because of the prices . Yeah , like you can go through and say you've got um , husband and wife and two kids yeah it's going to be at least 20 , 25 to $30 to go through fast food At least $30 . At least Just to get like a combo .
Speaker 3Very bare minimum . So I'll go through Starbucks with the girls and I'll get me a drink and get them two cake pops and it's like almost $20 .
Speaker 1Unrest . That's not even healthy food either .
Speaker 3And it's not . That's not even healthy food either , and it's not . No , and that is a luxury .
Speaker 3I can't go through Starbucks every day . I used to could . Like back years ago , when it was first built , I used to go to Starbucks every single day . My drink was $5 and that was a little pricey . I knew that , but that was the one thing that I splurged on Right . And now it is $8 and I can't afford it every day , and especially girls with the cake pops those are like $4 each . I don't know . I can't afford it , I just can't afford it .
Speaker 175% said it's cheaper to eat at home and they're now eating at home .
Speaker 3But what do you eat at home ? Because the grocery store is so expensive too . Same thing .
Speaker 1The only difference is you can buy like say you say , you get some sandwich meat .
Speaker 3Okay , and some bread you can make more than just one sandwich .
Speaker 1Like you go to a drive-thru and get one , at least you can make four to five to six sandwiches . So it spreads out a little bit more if you do it that way . But who wants a sandwich every day though ?
Speaker 3Nobody .
Speaker 1And you get tired of you , know well , you make your own whatever hot dogs .
Speaker 3Yeah , but I'm sick of fast food too .
Speaker 1I am too . You know , I'm just sick of eating Check this out In Seattle a Big Mac combo costs almost $15 . That's how much the difference is . It depends on the part of the country on how much they charge Almost $15 . Five Guys they track their rising prices . Five Guys $20 for a meal at five guys .
Speaker 3Have you ever had a five guys ? I never have . So it's really good and it's really fresh . But that's ridiculous pricing . It is yeah .
Speaker 1Here's some good news McDonald's , Wendy's , Burger King and Jack in the Box are all preparing bundled value meals , lowering prices this summer to try to regain customer traffic . I know there's going to be a lot of $5 combo meals coming out , which is going to help . It's going to help , but still if you get like a Big Mac combo , like 15 in Seattle , here it's $10 .
Speaker 3Yeah , well , we've been using those coupons . You and I , we usually have lunch together after we finish the show , sometimes , sometimes , I mean we can't afford it every day . No , can't afford it every day . No , but we use those coupons from Burger King .
Speaker 1Sure .
Speaker 3And they're like $10 for two Whopper Junior shot and two drinks and a fry . But if you don't have that coupon , it's like 15 , 20 bucks . Yeah , it's a lot of money .
Speaker 1It's a lot of money , it's a big hit . Yeah , yeah . What kills me is also some of these places have they've shrunk the serving sizes , like the buns . Oh yeah , I think we need to go talk to the bun company people . Yeah , tell them to get off their buns because they're hurting us . They're making these buns smaller because you're like the Whopper Junior it's about the size of what a biscuit used to be .
Speaker 3Well , speaking of biscuits , that's what you used to say . I won't say where we got barbecue from yesterday , but they brought out the barbecue sandwich and you said this is the size of a biscuit .
Speaker 1What is this ? The bun was tiny .
Speaker 3And I said this is what it is now , this is what it's been for a while .
Speaker 1It's so bad . The other day I got a burger not going to say from which place it's a regular cheeseburger and I picked it up and thought I didn't order a pickle burger . But the meat was under the pickle . That's how tiny , the little , funny piece of meat . I raised up the pickle . I said , oh , there's my hamburger meat . Okay , I see now , it was the tiniest little piece . It was like something you might be like a Lego .
Speaker 3Oh , not even like a silver dollar .
Speaker 1No , like a Lego burger .
Speaker 3Like a Lego burger .
Speaker 1I didn't know . I ordered a pickle burger . There's my meat right under the pickle . Well , okay , I found it , found it . Go back in , manager , I don't need you now . I found my meat .
Speaker 3Oh God , you never want to be on the search for meat .
Speaker 1No , you don't . But seriously , some of these servings you get now , they're so tiny compared to what they were a few years ago .
Speaker 3Which I will agree . I do think that that I do think and this is a soapbox TED Talk so I won't get on it but Americans do need smaller portions . I think that we eat a grossly over amount of food , but the prices should reflect that . But the prices should reflect that . That $10 barbecue sandwich I got yesterday should have been about $4 or $5 .
Speaker 1Absolutely , and here's where they get you on the drinks .
Speaker 3Yeah .
Speaker 1It's like sweet tea , yep . Okay , you go to a restaurant and you look and it's like $2.50 or $3 for , say , a sweet tea . Yes , you get refilled .
Speaker 3I haven't been paying under $4 . It's been like $3.99 .
Speaker 1That's where they get you . They should grab your toes . Here's your bill .
Speaker 3Yeah , and my kids I'm like y'all are drinking water , you know , because they drink like four sips and that's not worth $4 .
Speaker 1So here's where I get them . When I go in to sit down and eat , I get there about 12 , and I stay until they close . Okay , I'm getting the breakfast . I had 34 refills . Oh , okay , they closed the doors and asked me to please leave . Oh yeah , I got my money's worth that day .
Speaker 3I hope they don't advertise with us . They don't Okay , good .

Giant Jellyfish and Celeb Instagram Earnings
Speaker 1And a crazy thing . We had this story yesterday . We got caught up in other things and didn't get a chance to talk about it . But somebody asked this morning is this real ? And yeah , there's a monster jellyfish and crab spotted on a beach in England . It's the washed up . They're not sure you know where these come from , if there's more , if there's just one . But these things , how big they're probably about what ? Ten times the size of a regular jellyfish .
Speaker 3I don't know . You can see it . Oh my gosh , imagine being stung by those people . Yes , that'd wrap around your whole body .
Speaker 1It would Imagine getting that stuck in your swim shorts .
Speaker 3Oh my gosh , I've had a jellyfish do that before .
Speaker 1Uh-uh , came up the pants leg , uh-uh .
Speaker 3Got stuck .
Speaker 1Well no , my pants came down in the ocean .
Speaker 3Oh , I bet .
Speaker 1And it swept off the jellyfish .
Speaker 3Did he get you ?
Speaker 1He did . Oh yeah , Jellyfish things . You look at them and say that can't hurt , it can , and there's some types of them that can kill you .
Speaker 3Yeah , I wonder if these can but they're so big , I can't imagine how it's safe .
Speaker 1No , and then that crab next to it . There's a picture on our Facebook page . They discovered these back a few days ago and it sparked concerns from among locals thinking , okay , we've never seen these before . How many more are out there ? And are there other sea creatures that are bigger , kind of like ? Okay , I'm thinking Godzilla is nearby .
Speaker 3I can tell you , there it is .
Speaker 1You think those are bigger ones ? Yep , because how much of the ocean is it ? They said that we've never actually looked into and discovered , it's like less than 10% . It's Godzilla . I know it's kind of how he came around , oh my . So it could be from radiation or something . All these giant crabs and giant jellyfish are coming up now .
Speaker 3Imagine being at a restaurant and being like bring me the biggest crab legs that you have . I'm starving and then bring you these out .
Speaker 1Is this okay , sir ? Yeah , okay , now bring me about two gallons of butter , because I'm going to have to have it to eat these things .
Speaker 3You have to whole body dunk it . You sit in the butter and just bring the crab in there with you .
Speaker 1It is so big . These are monstrous , but imagine getting pinched by one of these things out in the ocean .
Speaker 3Oh , that would be terrible . It could crush your bones , it could break something off these are huge . People need to see these on our Facebook page . They're huge , it's a little scary .
Speaker 1That's why they're a little concerned on knowing what else is out there and how big they're going to be getting .
Speaker 3I really think it's like 1% of the ocean is what we've seen . I really think it's something that low . It's so massive .
Speaker 1It's massive . We don't know what's in there .
Speaker 3We don't know how deep it is no , we don't know what's at the bottom of it no , and there's fish that don't come up to the top no , that stay where the sun or on the bottom .
Speaker 1Yeah , yeah . They stay where the sun does not touch them , so we don't know what's down there .
Speaker 3No , it's complete black darkness . It's scary . It's scary yeah .

So get ready Morning's animal story . And speaking of dogs , how about the lady who made life-size dog houses out of Legos ?
Speaker 1Oh wow , this is tough to do . She says it's her favorite hobby . She's been doing it for the past few months . She says it takes about three weeks to build one of these . They're not tiny . They're big enough for the dog to go into . How about six feet tall ? All Legos , whoa yeah . And you can see the pictures and videos of one of these on her Facebook page , showing the big St Bernard going inside of it . It's that big .
Speaker 3Yeah , oh , my gosh , a St Bernard , let me scroll . Yeah , these are huge .
Speaker 1I couldn't imagine doing this because to me , if I'm going to do Legos , I have to have the instructions showing me exactly where each piece goes .
Speaker 3There's a human in there .
Speaker 1Yeah .
Speaker 3With the dog .
Speaker 1And she makes these for her dogs , no , just to have fun in .
Speaker 3No , I would lose my mind .
Speaker 1Yeah .
Speaker 3I could not stand it .
Speaker 1No , these are beautiful .
Speaker 3They really are . These are a beautiful piece of work , but you're right .
Speaker 1Makes you wonder how much did it cost to make this . I was looking up some of these Lego sets are expensive .
Speaker 3Yeah .
Speaker 1It shows , the most expensive one is the Star Wars Millennium Falcon , which you can buy or could buy $849 . Whoa , 7,500 pieces on the Lego set . So this is expensive . Very talented , I couldn't do it . I have to have instructions . But she decides to just start building and builds dog houses out of Legos .
Speaker 3So yeah , the Millennium Falcon is the most expensive . It says it has 7,500 pieces .
Speaker 1I would lose one and it would not be complete . Yeah .
Speaker 3I know how do you keep up with 7,500 of anything I don't know ? I couldn't keep up with 7,500 of anything I don't know . I couldn't keep up with 7,500 large bouncing balls .
Speaker 1Nope , couldn't do it I couldn't keep up with anything . I'd lose one somewhere .
Speaker 3Yep .

Speaker 1I agree . I love that . Some people think , like I was saying earlier , they think they may have to go to Disney World for the huge , expensive vacation to be happy . No , just spend time with family friends . Maybe just drive down to Lake Guntersville . Yeah , you know , do something . Maybe go to the state parks .
Speaker 3Yeah .
Speaker 1And we have some beautiful , Go to the beach and go to Orange Beach somewhere down Gulf Shores .
Speaker 3Well , even if you can't do that because , like single mom , don't have any money , just go , enjoy time with your family Wherever you are . Make the best of what you have , with what you have . I have been so broke that I haven't been able to leave the house because I can't afford to use the gas . I've had to scramble and find things to do around the house . But that's when the joy comes in , is when I'm spending time with my family . It's not the big , extravagant , expensive gifts , it's the time that you can't pay for .
Speaker 1And when it's gone you can't get it back . That's right , yeah , so enjoy it . While you've got it , Enjoy the small things . It's 8.53 .
