I like it I like it, we like it.

Speaker 7:

He's seriously crazy. You know that. You pooped in the refrigerator and you ate the whole wheel of cheese. Actually, I'm not even mad, it's amazing and holly Peanut butter.

Speaker 6:

You want to know something weird I do with peanut butter. I like to cut it with two pieces of bread and jelly. That's not weird.

Speaker 1:

But I put the bread in the middle. You really do. I thought you were kidding about that. I know You're strange, I know, but you can ride a lawnmower, I sure can you impress some people.

Speaker 10:

You know what? Jeff Allen, yesterday that works up here. He went out and moved his car Because he was scared Because he didn't want me to hit it.

Speaker 1:

No, he was scared.

Speaker 10:

He didn't know I could handle a lawnmower. I didn't either.

Speaker 1:

I can no one knows until now.

Speaker 10:

I got hidden talents.

Speaker 1:

That's just one of them. Now there's a video proof right there on our Facebook page.

Speaker 10:

Yeah, but here's the thing when I was cranking up and doing this, I told you here's the speed. And I lowered the speed down to the turtle. Well, I said I don't know how to crank this thing. You said you know how to crank it and I'm like no, so Will comes over. Does the choke I don this thing? You said you know how to crank it. I'm like no, so will comes over. Does the choke? I don't even know what the choke does, but he takes it from the turtle all the way up to the rabbit full speed ahead yes, with my head turned yeah and so I went forward and we're like, okay, let's go.

Speaker 10:

I was expecting to ease off like a little meemaw, but I went, you almost went down to 431. It jerked me backwards. He said there goes, Holly Never see her again.

Speaker 1:

You need to watch the video. It has like over 6,000 views and it's funny. But okay, you rode the lawnmower we're giving away. So how did it feel?

Speaker 10:

Hey, listen, I'm going to be for real, that is, I've never. I'm not a connoisseur, no, no, but I have never ridden a smoother lawnmower. Yeah, it is smooth. You can tell it's a fresh, brand new, ready to go lawnmower.

Speaker 1:

It's only got about two miles on it.

Speaker 10:

Yeah, and those are what I no, me and Jamie.

Speaker 1:

It was Jamie who drove it. Jamie sent us from his house here, Yep. Then you took it for a test. A little spin out in the parking lot, yeah a literal spin and you wanted to mow some grass, but we nope. No, we can't officially, because only the winner can mow the grass.

Speaker 10:

Couldn't dull those blades, yeah.

Speaker 1:

And I tell you what, coming up in about an hour, we're going to announce our winner of our Father's Day contest. Now, the lawnmower we're talking about Talking about is the one that's out front of the studios. It's a Toro Time Cutter Max 50-inch writing mower. It's worth about $3,700, courtesy of our good friends at Bonds Appliance, loan and Garden in Guntersville, and I'm so glad that we're not going to have to go through and read all of the entries and pick one, because it would be impossible. It would be impossible. There are some great pictures and some great stories. It would be impossible. There are some great pictures and some great stories. I wish we could give all of you one, because there are some really deserving dads and husbands out there who really could use a new lawnmower.

Speaker 10:

Yes, and grandfathers too. There's so many people that do, and don't lose faith, if it's not you today, because we have another thing coming up for you. We do on Monday we do on Monday and it's going to be including a.

Speaker 1:

A grill, brand new grill, yeah, but the lawnmower. This is the biggest contest we've ever had in the history of qsp as far as entries in the history it is as far as entries sent in. 1059 photos were sent in for this contest. Wow, that's not counting the 40-something that were rejected, because the only reason we did it was because the only rule was they had to be at a lawnmower somewhere in the picture. Yes, had to be yes, that was the only requirement. Many people said well, we don't have one. I perfectly understand that.

Speaker 10:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 1:

Rules are rules and some people. We tried to help you how to get around these rules by Photoshopping a lawnmower into the picture. We had some of the most creative photos. We did Some of the funniest photos I've ever seen One. We're going to have to spotlight and zoom in on it and let you see what was in the background of the picture. I don't think the person who took it and the person in the picture realizes what was going on behind them in the picture.

Speaker 10:

I think it was so funny and when I zoomed in I was like is that really? That was happening.

Speaker 1:

Yep, it was, so you're gonna put that picture up later this morning. Yeah, 1059 photos, so we're gonna have a random drawing. We've already hit the button. It's spit out a winner. Yep, we have the name here with us and, coming up at 7 10, we'll announce that name and then, uh, I noticed that the name that we looked inside it doesn't have a phone number. So we're going to give you the name at 710, and hopefully they're listening and they'll contact us.

Speaker 10:

I know they don't have a phone number. I've emailed them.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, there's an email which we've emailed. We've sent an email. Somebody now is running to their email. I know, I know, but sometimes the emails don't go through. No, no, no so don't think just because you don't have an email.

Speaker 10:

No, I didn't hit send yet. Okay, I didn't hit send yet.

Speaker 1:

Okay, got you so at 710,. We'll also send the email.

Speaker 10:

Yes, at 710. So don't check your email yet because it won't be there. We're going to have a good time with Norman he is so excited about this contest Should be, he loved giving away something that is going to bless somebody and that was amazing, yeah, and we signed it. It says congrats on the deck, or what do you call that, where you put your feet. I guess the deck yeah, no, the deck is that has this thing, that nose.

Speaker 1:

I have no idea.

Speaker 10:

Okay, well, the place where you put your feet, that part. We signed it, but with an Expo marker so you can wipe it off.

Speaker 1:

Okay. So we'll be announcing the winner and be sure to check out the videos and photos, and we'll be leaving the Father's Day photos up all weekend long. So in case you sit in one hand and you want to show Dad what you did for him, yeah, or that you tried to win him a lawnmower, be sure and check them out. They're on our website. We'll have the winner's photo on our website and on our Facebook page coming up. Alright. Other stuff going on this morning. How do you know Things you need to know? Yes, father's Day weekend. It's Friday, june the 14th. What is going on today?

Speaker 10:

Today is National Fudge.

Speaker 1:

Day I love fudge.

Speaker 10:

You are never going to believe this. No, Fudge originates from a messed up batch of caramels. When they said oh, fudge.

Speaker 1:

Ah, so they were trying to make some caramel candy.

Speaker 10:

Yes, this is a true story. Messed up the recipe. Yes.

Speaker 1:

And the person, according to this, said oh, fudge, yes. And they said well, okay, since we don't know what this is, we've just made, let's just call it fudge.

Speaker 10:

Yes, isn't that crazy that is weird. Isn't that crazy, that is weird.

Speaker 1:

Let's just be thankful they didn't say oh crap. Instead of fudge we would have chocolate crap, peanut butter crap, oatmeal crap. What if they had to reverse the word? So what we would call fudge now was crap. Then whenever we make a mistake we have to say oh fudge and say, hey, did you just fudge in your pants? Oh no, you fudged your pants, didn't you? So what if those two words were reversed? That would be weird, that would be awful. We've learned something today.

Speaker 10:

We have. Yeah, Go tell a friend.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 10:

John Cena will host this year's Shark Week. On Discovery Channel you watch Shark Week I do I love Shark Week. Oh, it's listen.

Speaker 5:

Oh yeah, yeah, he's coming.

Speaker 10:

Sharks. They're so scary to me, they are.

Speaker 1:

After what has happened in, I was about to say. In what was it? Panama City, uh-huh, that area recently. Yeah, oh, that's horrible. Yeah, I'm so scared and this was like waist-deep water.

Speaker 10:

A bit of teenagers layoff. Yes, it's horrible, yeah. Anyway, the 36th season of the show Spotlighting Sharks will feature 21 hours of new programming. Wow and Sina guiding viewers through each time. Shark Week starts on July 7th.

Speaker 1:

I like John Cena too, he's good, I like John Cena. I'll have to watch some of that Mm-hmm it. It's so creepy to watch this stuff, I know yeah.

Speaker 10:

And here's something to think about. Okay, I've been feeling really good about my new exercise program.

Speaker 1:

You say you have been working out Mm-hmm Okay.

Speaker 10:

And yesterday I spent 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Speaker 3:

Whoa Mm-hmm, that's impressive, I know.

Speaker 10:

And I'm feeling up to it. But tomorrow I might turn the treadmill on, so you.

Speaker 1:

So you just stood there.

Speaker 10:

I scrolled through TikTok For 30 minutes. For 30 minutes I got on the treadmill.

Speaker 1:

This takes baby steps, baby steps. You don't want to pick too soon. No, mary and Holly, on Alabama's Country Giant WQSB, We'll get the official forecast coming up at 710. And that's when we also announce our grand prize winner of our Father's Day contest Boy. A lot of excitement with this, and should be. This is a beautiful lawnmower.

Speaker 10:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 1:

I'd love to have a $3,700 lawnmower. It is needed to me for Father's Day or for any day.

Speaker 10:

Yeah, I would too.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so thank you all for entering. 1,059 people entered the contest. I've looked at their photos. Thank you so much, and the photos will be up on our website all weekend long and we'll have the winner. We'll be announcing the winner and we do have a phone number, is that true? Yeah, I found a phone number Ah, they must have just added it.

Speaker 10:

No.

Speaker 1:

I looked everywhere.

Speaker 10:

No, I think you get here too early and you're not awake yet.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I only had one eye open when I was looking. Okay, so we'll be announcing the winner and hopefully calling the winner coming up around 7-10. And in the meantime, taylor Swift a couple of stories going overseas. Now she's wrapping up. Her. I read her tour, worldwide tour like the end of the year. Yeah, it'll be done, no more tour, but she's still got a bunch of countries to go to. Oh yeah, and she a few days ago. And they say that her tour triggered earthquake readings in Scotland, mainly when she played three specific songs, that's Ready For it, cruel, summer and Champagne Problems. They say that the seismic activity set off like alarms. The readings were like through the roof 160 beats per minute. Set off the earthquake alarms with seismic activity.

Speaker 10:

So I can see this because Ready For it goes. Are you ready for it? A lot of bass yeah, I like that. And then Cruel Summer is just popular because it's summertime, and then Champagne Problems. She does like a full play. It looks like a performance piece. She's singing to him but she's got stuff laid out like placemats, wine glasses. She knocks the wine glass over and water goes spilling. It's amazing, it's so cool.

Speaker 1:

So it wasn't just the music, it was the people dancing. It also caused problems in this area, yes. So this is not the first time it's happened in other areas. I think even Louisiana mentioned back when she was in the US Same thing happened there, wasn't it Los Angeles, los. Angeles too. It's been quite a few.

Speaker 10:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So, anyway, and another one going to Denmark for this one. This is okay. You don't like too. You like spicy foods. I'm 50-50. But not too spicy. Like some of these soups. Like Reagan, my daughter and Reed, they used to love these soups. You buy and they've got the. I don't know what they're called. You know they're like ramen noodles, but they've got all these hot, spicy flavors.

Speaker 10:

Reed liked them too. Oh yeah, they both loved them, so did they eat them when they were little.

Speaker 1:

No, well, not little little.

Speaker 10:

When they got older, because I wouldn't let them eat them when removed not saying it's because of the soup, but I don't know right, but you had said she eats spicy food. Yeah, well anyway.

Speaker 1:

Denmark has now recalled several spicy ramen noodle products by the south korean company sam yang, claiming that the is it capsaicin? Yeah, the levels in them could harm their citizens. They're saying that they're dangerous to our citizens. In other words, where wah-wah?

Speaker 1:

our citizens can't handle the heat, so we're not going to let you sell that stuff here, because it might hurt our citizens, so they're pulling them off the shelves, not letting their citizens buy them, because they say it's way too hot. They have the spicy hot chicken. The two-egg spicy hot chicken and the hot chicken stew are the three main ones they're pulling off saying that they're too hot. The food agency issued the recall and a warning urging customers to abandon the product and if you've already bought it, don't eat it. It could hurt your tummy, oh, and your rear end.

Speaker 10:

Oh yes, It'll hurt going in and out. I will tell you that. So I had to look up what capsaicin is. It says it's found in chili peppers and it's what gives that spicy heat Right. And it says it has an active component in the pepper plants to the genus capsaicin.

Speaker 1:

So, anyway, this is a type of chili pepper. These soups aren't hurting anybody, but they are so concerned about their people, denmark is they're going to protect their little.

Speaker 10:

You know why? Why? Because everywhere else in the world has amazing health care.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 10:

And we're just left out to dry.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but these are People with common sense would say okay, that's a hot soup, I'm not going to eat it because it might hurt my stomach. Do you need the government stepping in and saying this may hurt your tummy, holly. We're going to pull this off the market because we're looking out for your tum-tum. You want them to say this.

Speaker 10:

I'd say protect my tum-tum government.

Speaker 1:

This may give you a little I don't know what about.

Speaker 10:

Why are we still doing the one chip challenge? That's killed people? So why is the United States still allowing that product to be sold?

Speaker 1:

That one should never have been sold.

Speaker 10:

That one has killed children.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, One we know of. One we know of yeah.

Speaker 10:

But I mean, why is that still okay? I don't know, that's what I'm telling you. Like Denmark.

Speaker 1:

They're stepping in.

Speaker 10:

They're probably looking over there at the US like oof.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it may be okay for your people people to blow up the commode, but not ours. We're drawing the line right here. We sure are. Yeah, I don't want to be told that, but taking it off. Yeah, I use common sense. If you think it's going to be too hot, don't eat it.

Speaker 10:

Yeah, just don't eat it.

Speaker 1:

You don't have to recall the whole, every one of the soups off the shelf.

Speaker 10:

Because if you go through like Foodland and Food City, there's like hundreds of soups on there are in there that people love to eat I wonder on a hot scale, like, like, how hot the scoville scale.

Speaker 1:

I wonder how hot it is, I don't know. Denmark scale must be totally different, must be off the charts.

Speaker 10:

They can't handle the heat they cannot, and denmark's gotta get out the kitchen yeah, they do.

Speaker 1:

they've got up up their game. I on man, you got people pulling your soups off because they want to mess up your stomach. Yeah, six twenty nine. Wqsb mornings with Barry and Holly, we're going to be doing mundane. First of all, I want to mention our big deal store, because that's what we're going to be doing. Mundane, but the Alabama pizza company. Their big deal coupons went on sale Monday morning and there's still a few left. This is where you get $20 worth of food but you only pay $10.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's a good deal and they were here. It was a couple of months ago and they brought by what I consider the best New York-style pizza I've ever had, Ever In this area, and they're going to show us how to make it. Yeah, and they have one of the best, if not the best. I guess you would call it pizza maker. Yeah, what would you call it? Pizza artist?

Speaker 10:

I don't know. I hate theory. Is there an?

Speaker 1:

official title.

Speaker 10:

What do you call a pizza maker? Oh, Well. How do you say that?

Speaker 1:

I don't know.

Speaker 10:

Pizza Pizza Lolo.

Speaker 1:

Exactly that's what I was going to say, but I didn't want to show off.

Speaker 10:

Pizza Lolo.

Speaker 1:

That's what I yeah, I don't know, but anyway, anyway, andre, yeah, andre, we're going to be going down to Alabama Pizza Company Monday, because that's the day they're closed, and he's going to because he has like over 300,000 followers oh yeah, who watch him make pizzas all day long.

Speaker 10:

Every day.

Speaker 1:

And we're going to watch him live in person, facebook live this, and I'm hoping he will allow you to attempt to make a pizza he's going to.

Speaker 10:

Oh, he's going to yeah, there's no choice.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he's going to do it, but people have to tune in to watch. So after 10 o'clock sometime on Monday, we're going to be down there live Facebook Live, and you're going to attempt to make a pizza.

Speaker 10:

And I am going to spin it in the air. Okay, I'm going to try. I mean, my shot is we've got two garbage cans here. We have one for recycling, one for trash. I sit across the room diagonally from the trash can You're in the corner?

Speaker 1:

We put baby in the corner.

Speaker 10:

You did put baby in the corner. Nobody's supposed to, but you throw stuff in the trash can all the time and you hit it every time I throw stuff in the trash can and it goes into Powers' room over here across the street.

Speaker 1:

It goes through the window and out in the yard. You're awful, you're horrible.

Speaker 10:

I'm the worst shot in the world.

Speaker 1:

I don't know why that's good.

Speaker 10:

And I'm saying I don't know how I'm going to be able to spin a pizza up in the air.

Speaker 1:

That's why I'm curious on how that ties into making a pizza, but you went the long way around on that story. Like I did yesterday, I think he went down a dirt road and turned left and got lost. I don't know where that was going. It's nothing to do with making pieces?

Speaker 6:

Yes, it does. No, it don't.

Speaker 10:

Yes it does, Barry. I'm talking about how you have to twist it in the air, Like my shot is off.

Speaker 1:

Well, quit twisting your shot and just throw it.

Speaker 10:

Okay, i's ugly, I'm not talking to you anymore.

Speaker 5:

I'm turning your mic off again.

Speaker 1:

You don't have to. No, okay, I quit, but anyway, back to the series. The Alabama Pizza Company. Get these coupons while they last, because if you're looking for something to do this weekend, let them make you a pizza. Yeah, they are the best, and there's some great stuff on there too, so be sure and check that out. Coming up again in about oh, let's see 20, 25 minutes, we'll be making the big announcement who wins at riding lawnmower for Father's Day? We'll be telling you coming up soon.

Brought you on home, waited on the porch for you, sat there alone All throughout the morning till I got a hunch down in my gut and snog around the back. Empty cans and I'll be damned. Your bags were never packed.

Speaker 5:

Did your boot stop working? Did your truck break down? Did you burn through money? Did your ex find out? Well, there's a will and there's a way. And I'm damn sure you lost it. That's where you'll be forgotten.

Speaker 5:

In 40 years you'll still be here, drunk, washed up in Austin. A hell of a bluff. You had me believing. How many months did you plan on leaving? What happened? Bad habits did you go back? Go back. I loved you. How tragic, oh. Did your beauty stop working? Did your truck break down? Did you put through money? Did your ex find out? There's a will and there's a way, and I'm damn sure you lost it. Didn't even say goodbye, just wish I knew what cost it was the whiskey phobian. Were you in a fight? Did the nurse come get you? What's your roundabout? I'm in a way back to Bel-Air and that's where you'll be forgotten In 40 years. You'll still be here, drunk, washed up in a sleep.

Speaker 1:

The weekend that means we have new movies, or at least a new movie, and there's did I read this right For what you're telling me? There will be a Jurassic World, another movie. Yes, I'm excited. I love those movies.

Speaker 10:

The new Jurassic World 4 will feature filming locations in Thailand and Malta. In the UK, it's produced by Steven Spielberg and it stars Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey and others.

Speaker 1:

The fact that it tells me that Steven Spielberg is behind this tells me that when I first heard this, I thought oh no, they're just going to keep milking this thing and just ruin it.

Speaker 1:

But for him to be a part of this there must be something big and for Scarlett Johansson to step up and say I want to be in this movie. That means it must be a pretty good movie and I love the Jurassic World movies. You go from Jurassic Park to Jurassic World. I think they were great even 20 years ago. I loved them.

Speaker 1:

The technology was amazing and I know this weekend is a movie I want to see. I know it's animated, but I thought the Inside Out movie that came out a couple of years ago was a brilliant movie. It was so cute. You look inside the mind of a kid and all the emotions it run through. And now Inside Out 2 comes up tonight.

Speaker 10:

Yes, and I love it because they introduce anxiety. Yes, and.

Speaker 1:

I can't wait to see what anxiety you need that dealing with your kids. I know With my kids, but there's new emotions in the little girl's mind as she's growing up and I think it's going to be a great movie and the reviews say it's very sweet. You need to watch it.

Speaker 10:

Yeah, I'm ready to watch that I might take the girls yeah. Well Allen has renewed his contract with NBC as host of the Tonight Show until 2028.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if you've seen this photo yeah, did y'all see that you need to find him.

Speaker 10:

Well, we've got some special guests in here. Barry, we do, we do. Now.

Speaker 1:

Jamie has become like the celebrity around the area Jamie Sinners because he's been riding lawnmowers with his shirt off, shirt on. He brought it up here yesterday. Come over here, jamie, first We'll let you introduce the big guy, but first so did anybody mention you having a police escort yesterday? Not as much as people mentioned when I was shirt off, but they noticed that Holly was out there riding your lawnmower and she did a pretty good job. She did a wonderful job.

Speaker 10:

Do you think that I handled it well?

Speaker 1:

Yes, you just got to start out a little slower.

Speaker 10:

I thought she was going to go down the hill into the highway. We all doubted, we were all in doubt.

Speaker 1:

We've got to thank you. You've got Bonds Appliance Lawn and Garden in Guntersville. You brought the big guy here with you today. I brought the boss today. Come on over here, norman Norman. Hey, first of all, thank you so much for teaming up with us for this contest. We appreciate this.

Speaker 9:

This has been the most successful contest we've ever had. It's been a real blessing. A lot of people have sent us text e-mails with pictures and asking us how to do it, and we just tell them to submit it on WQSBcom, that's awesome. And you were scary yesterday, holly, I thought you were going over the hill into the river Barry did too.

Speaker 10:

I did.

Speaker 1:

We love what you do because it's not just what you sell but it's service after the sale, so you take care of things for people when they buy something from you.

Speaker 9:

Yes, sir, we try to do everybody justice and treat people the way we want to be treated, and me and Jamie's been together for years and not only us, but our whole staff is very accommodating, very knowledgeable and we're here to take care of you after you buy something from us dating. Very knowledgeable, we're here to take care of you after you buy something from us.

Speaker 1:

Tell the listeners how they can find your location, where you're located at.

Speaker 9:

We're at 1415 Gunner Avenue in Gunnerville. It's on the main street across from Walgreens, beside Domino's. You can't miss us for all the Toro Reds at night front.

Speaker 1:

Awesome, we've had a random drawing where a computer pulled out a name and we have a phone number, so we're going to try to give them a phone call and see if they're available. And now, if they don't answer, that's fine, we'll get a hold of you, but we're gonna oh yeah uh, this is hard to do one-handed, so hold on all right.

Speaker 10:

Yeah, so bear with me, do the play-by-play please do all right, so barry's gonna call this. Are you guys excited to give this away, as we are? Absolutely yeah so, but isn't it such a blessing, jamie? Do you have tears? No, come over on the mic, tell me what's going through your head right now.

Speaker 11:

We're just thankful to be able to do something for a good father. Yes, there's a lot of good fathers out there, and there's every one of them deserving of this honor.

Speaker 1:

Yes, so somebody's phone is ringing now. Let's hope they answer. Hello, hey, good morning. This is Barry and Holly from WQSP. Who am I speaking to?

Speaker 6:

Pam Thompson.

Speaker 1:

Pam Thompson, pam, we're live on the radio, is that okay? Sure, sure there's a reason we're calling. I think you sent us a photo back, maybe a few days ago. And is the person in the photo? Is he related to you at all a few days ago? And is the person in the photo? Is he related to you at all? Is it maybe a husband?

Speaker 6:

That's my husband and his name is Nick. Nick, yeah, you know his phone number, yeah we do.

Speaker 1:

Let's talk to you first.

Speaker 6:

I didn't know his phone number to put on there oh you're fine Well we have a secret.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, is Nick there, by the way?

Speaker 6:

Okay well, I'm at work, he's at home. Oh, okay, we'll get.

Speaker 1:

When we get done, we're gonna get his phone number from you, so don't hang up we'll talk to you first, because you're the one that sent in the photo and the photo you sent in you are the grand prize winner for brandy riding lawnmower, worth $3,700 from bonds, appliance lawn and garden and gunners. Well, how about that?

Speaker 10:

it's great. Yay, congratulations Pam.

Speaker 1:

I can't believe it, thank you now, according to the picture, you really need a new lawnmower, is that right?

Speaker 6:

and we, we uh are excited to be able to give that to you. Tell us about your struggle with your current lawnmower. Well, my father. He passed away eight years ago, but not long before he died he bought one from Bond and it's wore out. Ever since he died my husband's been mowing the two acres that he had and it's just the deck comes off all the time and he's bought part after part for it but it keeps coming off. The blades get warped somehow because of the deck falling off. I don't know. I mean, it's just been part after part and it's just wore out. You don't have to worry about that anymore, Pam.

Speaker 9:

Well, what does this?

Speaker 1:

mean to you winning this Pam? What does this mean to you?

Speaker 6:

You have no idea what it means to me to give him a new lawnmower.

Speaker 1:

How about that, norman, jamie? That's what it's all about, jamie's crying.

Speaker 10:

Oh, jamie, I love his soft heart. Barry are you? This is big, this is. Pam we're all crying for you. We're all excited for you and for Nick. We're so excited to give you this blessing, and I got chills this morning when we pulled your name out. I really, truly think this is a blessing from God.

Speaker 6:

I'm thinking of calling him on my other phone and tell him to make sure to answer his phone.

Speaker 10:

Don't tell him that he won.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're going to go off the air for a minute. We're going to hang up. No, we're going to go off the air. We're going to hang up. No, we're not going to hang up, we're going to get you. If you want to hang on, we're going to get his phone number from you. Then we'll call him. How about that? But do you want to say anything to Norman Bonds and Jamie? They're here with Bonds and Plants.

Speaker 6:

Anything you want to say to them.

Speaker 9:

Thank you so much.

Speaker 5:

Well, congratulations old mower at the store.

Speaker 9:

Do we do? We currently have your old mower at our store, now in the shop no, not yet.

Speaker 6:

okay, he came in last saturday and bought a part for it and, uh, I don't really know what the part was, but anyway, it wouldn't the blades wouldn't go around without it. Yes, but, anyway.

Speaker 6:

So he got that part on there. So it's running right this minute. But you know, it's like every time y'all have no idea. Every time, okay, the land is not really level, no, it's kind of, you know, bumpy and everything, and it's like every time he mows, something either breaks, or that deck he said that deck is going to be the death of me. Yeah, nope, not now.

Speaker 1:

Not anymore, Not now.

Speaker 6:

Well, Pam if you would hang on.

Speaker 1:

We're going to get his phone number and give him a call, so you would hang on one second. Okay, congratulations was off. We're going to get his phone number and give him a call. Hang on one second, okay.

Speaker 9:

Congratulations. Okay, thank you.

Speaker 1:

You're welcome. Thank you, and that's Pam Thompson, and Nick Thompson is the winner, nick from Guntersville, and we're going to try to give him a call. So congratulations, and we're going to see if we can get a hold of Nick real quick. Alright, 717.

Speaker 10:

That was her water bottle.

Speaker 6:

Oh, I'm sorry it was water, by the way.

Speaker 1:

Make sure to listen.

Speaker 12:

It was water. Let's definitely clarify that. It is my water bottle Absolutely.

Speaker 1:

That's a big water bottle too.

Speaker 4:

So you put the like Mio squeezy stuff

Speaker 1:

in yours or you just have to go straight the Mio squeeze stuff. I have to.

Speaker 12:

I have to. Well, I quit drinking sodas and I was a big Mountain Dew drinker and I've been trying to cut that out. So it's been about three weeks, but I get that wanting a sweet drink like a soda or something, so that Mio helps me satisfy that craving.

Speaker 10:

Ooh dog food coming in the door.

Speaker 1:

We need to try the new one because, speaking of water, we had a story yesterday about the candied water at walmart.

Speaker 10:

It's clear american clear american.

Speaker 1:

They have like skittle flavored water now yeah sparkling water right sparkling water

Speaker 10:

oh, definitely yeah, I love sparkling water. I do too. Nobody likes the virgin water I don't.

Speaker 1:

It's just mean I know athletes told you I'm an athlete, give me some regular water.

Speaker 12:

No, I do like spring water, you do. I don't like the purified water, you know, in the bottles. I like the spring water and that I will drink by itself.

Speaker 1:

We have dog food.

Speaker 12:

Yeah, we got dog food coming in.

Speaker 10:

Thank you so much.

Speaker 1:

They keep bringing the dog food in.

Speaker 10:

Oh, yeah, coming in. Thank you so much. They keep bringing the dog food in.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, disrupt us. We love it. But Rachel's here for a reason because we have food.

Speaker 10:

We have food.

Speaker 1:

I'm excited because I love Little Debbie. Anything Little Debbie does I love. And I love these mini muffins because for the kids back in the day, they've been around for years and that's like a convenient, easy and not healthy, but I think they're better than some things you could have for breakfast or for a snack, these little mini muffins. And we had this story what two weeks ago that they have the new red, white and blue promotion they're doing this summer, yep, and they come out with lemon mini muffins.

Speaker 10:

Yes, they did, and we're about to give them a go. And I love everything lemon, do you? Yep? So you got one. Are you a fan? Love muffins? I do not like lemon flavor.

Speaker 12:

Oh, you're not a lemon fan at all, no, but I'm going to give it a go. Here we go, all right.

Speaker 6:

You ready yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's good, mmm. Wow Tastes like a pound cake to me.

Speaker 12:

It tastes like a lemon pound cake.

Speaker 1:

Like my mom used to make when I was little. She make pound cakes and there's like a lemon flavor to it and this tastes just like it. That is not what I was expecting. That's good. Wow, it is good. I don't even like lemon. I give that a nine.

Speaker 10:

It doesn't have too much lemon, it's just enough. Like my. Like a pound cake, just like a pound cake. It's got like a little kiss of lemon, just give it a little bit of flavor.

Speaker 1:

So what do you think, rachel, out of this one?

Speaker 12:

I think it's a 10 out of 10 I agree.

Speaker 1:

I give it a 10 out of 10. I love it.

Speaker 10:

It's good. They're really really good.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely. They come in the mini packs. There's what? Five in a pack?

Speaker 10:

There's four muffins in a pack, five packs in a box.

Speaker 1:

Got you Sorry. Highly recommend this. Oh yeah, If kids like the mini muffins, or even for the adults, I would buy these for myself.

Speaker 12:

No, I love these with coffee. I need to put more than four in a bag.

Speaker 1:

I agree.

Speaker 12:

Because you end up eating multiple bags, do you?

Speaker 10:

How many do you eat, at least?

Speaker 12:

two.

Speaker 1:

One's just getting you started. It's like a little tease.

Speaker 10:

I think just one muffin is enough.

Speaker 1:

It's like a nibble on the ear. You've got to have more than that, but you eat like a bird, anyway, I do nibble on the ear.

Speaker 12:

You've got to have more than that One muffin. Yeah, oh, but you eat like a bird anyway. I don't, you do, I do, I don't do it yeah.

Speaker 1:

How about a good pool snack? This would be Like take to the beach.

Speaker 10:

Oh my gosh, it would be perfect. Perfect pool snack. Yes.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, highly recommend it.

Speaker 10:

Yep Nine out of ten.

Speaker 1:

Alright. Thanks, rachel. Alright, it's eight ten.

Speaker 4:

Morning Barry and Holly, here on Alabama's country giant WQSB.

Speaker 1:

A big Father's Day winner. We didn't choose it, the computer did. Yeah, but I don't think it could have been a better choice, because this person we saw so many pictures needed a lawnmower. Nick Thompson of Guntersville needed a new lawnmower and, as luck would have it, fate have it, his name came out and he wins that brand new time cost toro time cutter max 50 inch riding more from bonds appliance lawn and garden in guttersville $3,700 lawnmower that's amazing, and it's sitting out front in our yard right now yes, it is and you had a chance to test drive it I did.

Speaker 10:

You can see the video on our facebook page. That thing is fast, it is, it takes.

Speaker 1:

And you weren't expecting it. No, and you did a good job, though, thank you. You were under control. I thought she was going to ride down the hill into the highway and probably get run over. No, but you didn't. That would have been sad, that would have been awful.

Speaker 10:

Radio host ran over while trying to promote contest.

Speaker 1:

I Because, first of all, you're gone.

Speaker 10:

Then the lawnmower.

Speaker 1:

And the winner doesn't get their lawnmower. I know.

Speaker 10:

That's what's most important.

Speaker 1:

And the lawnmower goes and bonds is out a lot more I know, and it didn't even go to a winner.

Speaker 10:

It was a 30. It cost the bonds appliance $3,700 for me to die.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what would have happened? It would have been a lose-lose for. I knew what I was doing, you did, you were impressive.

Speaker 10:

I've driven my daddies a couple times. You were impressive. I've grown up watching my mama grow. They live on like six acres. They've got a John Deere zero turn. You did a good job. My mama takes care of the lawn. I know my daddy does too. Daddy tends to it, but my mama, I'm going to tell you those lines have to be straight.

Speaker 1:

She knows her way around a yard. She does, she does. That's what they say, all right, it's crime story time Going to Indiana. I guess it's Avon, indiana. Yeah, a man is facing charges. After he told police, he broke into his former Chick-fil-A co-worker's home to perform an exorcism on her. A what? 1.15 in the morning? Exorcism on her.

Speaker 5:

A what?

Speaker 1:

1.15 in the morning. A what Exorcism which makes me think I've got to play this music here.

Speaker 10:

Okay, you got creepy music I do Exorcist music.

Speaker 1:

Police pulled up. They said the intruder was inside. They heard responses. They yelled for the man to come out. The 38-year-old suspect finally came out, had blood all over him His blood what? And when asked why he was there, he said I had to break in the window. I have to do an exorcism here tonight. The man told police that he was trying to save a female, a former co-worker, who was upstairs in the house. He said I have to perform an exorcism. I brought a CD from home. He says, as they were taking him away, please play track number three. This will save her.

Speaker 10:

That's what she sounded like in the background.

Speaker 1:

He told them to play track number three. It'll save her life. It'll save her. I wonder what track number three was. Now I don't know, because it was like a mixtape from home.

Speaker 10:

It's probably Rick Astley, rick Roll Probably Never gonna give you up.

Speaker 1:

So he brought this from. It was actually this oh Titanic, Do you want me to sing it? Sure, oh Titanic.

Speaker 8:

Do you want me to sing it?

Speaker 1:

Sure Okay, he brought this from home. All right, here we go. He said, this will save her, this will exercise the demons.

Speaker 10:

Okay, I'm going to sing this part. Okay, here we go.

Speaker 1:

Are you ready? Everybody's ready? Okay, okay, here we go. I've got a demon inside of me. Get it out.

Speaker 5:

Sing go night at Chick-fil-A. There was a demon obsession so he broke into her home to perform an exorcism.

Speaker 10:

I gotta have more Calvin there was blood all over him. I gotta have more Calvin play track number three, that will save her.

Speaker 5:

I do now. That was good.

Speaker 1:

We still don't know if they got the demon out of her or not. We don't know.

Speaker 10:

I've got a few co-workers that I've been thinking yeah, we need to get track number three a hold of them, yeah.

Speaker 1:

They got something inside of them. Yeah, they do Pure meanness. Yeah, but they get arrested. And the woman upstairs wasn't hurt, oh good. Yeah, but he was, he tried to crawl through the window.

Speaker 10:

He cut himself.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but alright, alright, trivia time. It's your chance to win a free pizza buffet to either location in Barone's Pizza and Arcade. There's one on George Wallace Drive in Gadsden, another one in Galt Avenue North in Fort Payne. That's pretty good, thank you.

Speaker 1:

You should be. On Whose Line Is it Anyway? That was good. Okay, the average man will do this 2,340 times in his lifetime if he lives to the average age of 75. Wow, what is it that the average man will do? 2,340 times? If you think you know what it is be called at number 1-878-8000 or 1-800-233-1051.

Speaker 4:

Barry and Holly on Alabama's Country, Giant WQSB.

Speaker 1:

Pool this weekend. Yeah, you're going to probably be hearing that song a lot, and it's a good weekend to be around the pool. Holly's special cannonball pool party forecast says five out of five cannonballs, which means you need to give at least five cannonballs to get yourself in the water and cool off this weekend.

Speaker 10:

That's right. Get in the water, cool off, use your sunscreen and stay hydrated, guys.

Speaker 1:

Yep, absolutely. Hey, one quick thing. This is something you can check out on our Facebook page. We have all kinds of stuff there If you want to see the world's biggest vodka bottle, there is such a thing. It's in the record book now and it's on display in london. It's going to be coming to atlanta very soon. Uh, it's uh, almost seven feet tall. Wow, it holds 250 liters of vodka and it's on display in london and if you wanted to buy this thing, it's about 191 000. Oh, yeah, you're looking at the bottle. It's uh, they've created this just to get into the record book and it worked because they're now in the record book. The makers it's AU. How do you say? Is it all? All it's AU vodka.

Speaker 10:

All vodka Maybe, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

So the makers of it. They're now in the record book. A seven-foot-tall bottle of vodka.

Speaker 10:

And it has the vodka inside of it. Yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:

It's actually in there. That would be a tough carry-on on the plane, wouldn't it?

Speaker 10:

That would be tough to get on the plane.

Speaker 1:

Excuse me, sir, do you have something you like? I have a seven-foot-tall bottle of vodka.

Speaker 10:

You can have like four ounces of liquid.

Speaker 1:

That's it. So they would pour every bit of it out, but four ounces, yeah, you would have people crying and that would be awful You'd have people lined up with their mouths open, just go down the line.

Speaker 1:

Wow, so if you want to see it, check out our Facebook page. And before we go, this morning morning's quote of the day and we picked out a special one with Father's Day coming up this weekend we thought we'd try to find something that's inspiring in some form, some way saluting dad, and I think this is a good one because you're dad good dad, I'm a daddy's girl, yep. And this is kind of something that everybody, if you're a dad, listen, if you have a dad that's still around, listen closely, because I think it hits, I think it nails it.

Speaker 10:

The quote says a father loves completely, gives quietly, teaches gently and inspires deeply.

Speaker 1:

I love it.

Speaker 10:

And I love that so much. I want to give a happy Father's Day to my dad. He has always been my biggest supporter and cheerleader. He's always been in my corner. He's taught me everything except math. He was never able to teach me math, but he's always been so good to me and I love my dad with all of my heart. And there's a group of people and I know you don't expect this, but there's a group of people that I think we need to acknowledge, and I think it's the parents of lost children. Barry, because you're going to have a hard time this Sunday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it is.

Speaker 10:

Sunday's hard for you, yeah, and I think that it's important that we remember those that have lost, because you still are a father to read Sure. You will always be a father to read.

Speaker 1:

So it's good to reach out to the people in some form, some way. If you get a few minutes this weekend, just let them know you're thinking of them. Yeah, yeah, so it means a lot. So if you're a dad, you know, if you're a new dad, work on these things here and I think you'll be glad you did Love completely, give quietly, teach gently and inspire deeply. Yes, and it's something that your children will not forget. Yeah, good stuff. It's 853.
