Speaker 1That is crazy. Here we are the first complete full day of summer. Yesterday summer kicked off and boy did it ever. We were looking for wattles and it wasn't the hottest day we've had, but it's something about. That was the closest we're going to be to the sun all year. That's when summer kicks off. It felt like it. It was awful.
Speaker 5I told you yesterday, I felt like I was chewing the air. I felt like I was having to eat the air that I was breathing.
Speaker 1It felt so thick, it was so hot, it was so humid. At one point I could feel my brain bubbling. Ew, that's weird, it was scary.
Speaker 5I've never heard of a brain bubble I heard of a brain bubble. It happened, not the brain bubble.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, well, today is going to be. Here comes the humidity. Today the humidity is back Sunny, 91 today, 94 tomorrow 95. Sunday, and the humidity the breeze began dying down yesterday. That's what made it feel so hot. There was no breeze Today, not much of a breeze. So heat index anywhere from upper 90s to over 100 all weekend long. As far as the rain, they've taken pretty much all the rain out. Sunday there's a slight chance of rain Sunday night. Monday slight chance. Tuesday At the moment. Wednesday we have a decent chance 60%.

Speaker 1Yeah, she's with Sneed's Farmhouse and she helps to do things like this for animals and she's coming down this morning. We're going to talk about it and see what we can do. Yeah, as far as helping waddles.
Speaker 5Yeah, and she said yesterday. She said that birds do that. They pick on the weak ones. Isn't that awful? That's ugly, I know it's like humans sometimes.
Speaker 1It really is, I know, and we were looking at it closely. I got close enough.
Speaker 5That's on his foot and I said I have no idea. Here's the sad part. We thought that you could see part of his foot.
Speaker 4You can't. No, it's not I have no idea, it's completely encased in whatever is on him.
Speaker 5Me and Barry have different theories. I think that it's some kind of growth. Barry thinks that it's a man-made, not handmade.
Speaker 1Man-made. Well, you can see the fishing line wrapped around its leg. Absolutely, you can.
Speaker 5Yeah, and it looks. You know it's either a really really long piece of fishing line or it's multiple pieces of fishing line. True, because it's really wrapped up.
Speaker 1So if you want to see the Facebook Live we had yesterday, it's up there and this thing has gone viral and people were asking during the Facebook Live why don't you catch it and help it now?
Speaker 4And you said I would do anything for love, but I won't do that.
Speaker 5I can't do it yet.
Speaker 1Because we didn't want to get pinched bit or whatever. Well, we don't want to kill him. No, we don't want to get pinched bit or whatever, we don't want to kill him.
Speaker 5No, we don't know. Yeah, judy said that you can stress him and Doug McGee he called us yesterday from Second Chance. Doug and Judy both said that birds can get extremely stressed out and have a heart attack and die.
Speaker 1So we didn't want to cause any undue stress on the wattles.
Speaker 5We just wanted to feed them and check on them.
Speaker 1But I do want to say thank you to everybody who's been reaching out and offering and following this thing. Yeah, please, do something to help this. Yeah, and there's some people on there who say why bother? Why do this? And I please I wish you would quit being negative why bother? Because we're doing it, because we care. Yes, it's only goose that needs a chance to have a better life. Some people don't care, but we do.
Speaker 5I don't care what animal is in it. I get dune bugs out of my parents' swimming pool and save them so they don't drown. I have to help animals, kids and animals got to help them and the elderly, and then like three or four people that I like, but other than that, there's only a few things I don't really like.
Speaker 1Mosquitoes. I'm not going to rescue a mosquito.

Speaker 1I'm not going to rescue a snake, no no, no, those are called no-broke Snakes went downhill since the Garden of Eden and they haven't recovered yet and I don't see them ever recovering from that bad route. See them ever recovering from that bad route.

Speaker 1Flies. I don't much care for a fly Fruit flies, fruit flies, you can't catch them. No Forest flies are so big.

Speaker 5Yep. So typically they're made of fruits, vegetables, grains, yogurt and ice, and all you really need is a blender. It's an easy meal.
Speaker 1I read something this morning that one of the hot new smoothies is a. Put gummy bears in it. What Well, these actually grind up. I guess you got a good blender, but would you want a gummy bear in yours? Seriously, that's one of the hot new smoothie flavors. I would try it, Putting gummy bears in it.
Speaker 5You know Sonic Pook's nerds and their slushes.
Speaker 1I've never heard this before.
Speaker 5I would try it. Okay, the top fruit smoothie flavors are number one is strawberry, yes, yes, I agree. Number two is banana, yum Love it yeah. And number three. I know you'll like this one.

Unique Job Opportunities in Tasmania
Speaker 5I know I'm going to give you a date. Are you ready, ready? November 10th? It's going to be a big day. Speaker 1I know he should have come back and filmed the film. The kid should have come back, I know, yeah.

Speaker 1Well, I don't know that Australia, that part of the world, is any better this time of year. It is but Tasmania, Tasmania. To me, when I hear Tasmania, I think of Looney Tunes, Bugs Bunny, the Tasmanian Devil.
Speaker 5Yeah, he just spins around in a circle.
Speaker 1That's the first thing I think of. But Tasmania put up a release. They're looking for people to come in and work some jobs, and some of these are pretty interesting. Okay, they're calling them tongue-in-cheek odd jobs that they really need people to work with during their winter months, which is now. You know, it's like summer here, winter over there.
Speaker 5Oh yeah.
Speaker 1But the Australian island state is offering people the chance to swap the daily grind of their job for unusual jobs. They have 10 jobs they need to fill. One is a paranormal investigator Exactly what it says it is. You look into people who think that they have ghosts. They have spirits in their home or their business. That'll be your job. They have a wombat walker. You got dog walkers here.
Speaker 5Oh, I'd love that you see the little wombats. Yes, I'd love to do that. They're cute yeah.
Speaker 1They have a job title called Puffer Nut. Puffer Nut what is that? According to this Puffer Nut, it's something to do with trains, if you like trains. At one job. The applicant will join the crew on the Lynchford Express steam train as it travels along the Tasmanian West Coast. Part of your job will be to blow the train whistle.
Speaker 5Oh hey, I can do that. I can so do that.
Speaker 1And that's part of your job. I don't know why it's called a puffer nut. I like it.
Speaker 5That's odd. I like it. I like the name.
Speaker 1Now the paranormal investigator role. It's voluntary, it's open to those with an interest in history and mystery. Now it involves picking up the latest paranormal activity ghost hunting equipment. Oh, they'll give you equipment. Oh, that'd be fun. I wouldn't forget to keep it, that'd be fun to do.
Speaker 5Would you do that? No, there's no way I would do that?
Speaker 1No, that sounds like it'd be boring. I don't believe in stuff like that.
Speaker 5I think I would have to consult with my pastor before I could agree to that job.
Speaker 1Yeah, I wouldn't do that. Okay, here's one for you. Do you like oysters?
Speaker 5I do yeah.
Speaker 1They need an oyster organizer. It means you sort, you clean and you categorize oysters freshly harvested from Great Oyster Bay.
Speaker 5Big hard. No, yeah, we had oysters at Jefferson's and we had to crack them every morning. Well, the guys did, but the girls would help sometimes if we were behind. It's hard. Yeah, I turned down that job. I bet that would be a tough one. Yeah, Another one. They need stargazers. Oh.
Speaker 1I bet that would be a tough one. Yeah, another one that needs stargazers. Oh, you join the Tasmania Astronomical Society for a couple of nights each week to just observe the skies and write down what you see.
Speaker 5Okay, well, there are many dots. They are very bright.
Speaker 1I don't want to know. That would be a tough job.
Speaker 5I cannot count how many there are. I would fall asleep.
Speaker 1If I counted sheep, sheep, you're letting the grass to sleep what do you write in your notebook? I don't know it's also jobs for truffle hunters, wine whisperers, those who help the winemakers. You do just whatever and there's all kinds of things, and most of these are unpaid, but you get they'll. Uh, successful applicants will have all their expenses paid, including they'll try, they'll pay for travel, food and hotels. It's covered by the Tasmanian Tourist Board.
Speaker 5So which job would you take?
Speaker 1The wombat walker.
Speaker 5Yes, that's what I was going to say.
Speaker 1I think that would be fun.
Speaker 5I know that's what I was going to say, Look how fun they are. I want to be the wombat walker.
Speaker 1I probably need more than one. I would think there'd be a lot of wombats.
Speaker 5I wonder if they'd go like they would like our walking trail that we use.
Speaker 1Probably, I bet they would. Do you think they would chase the ducks and the geese?
Speaker 5I don't know. I would love to see an interaction between a wombat and a goose.
Speaker 1I wonder if they're enemies. They may never have met.
Speaker 5They may never have. Those worlds may have never collided.
Speaker 1What about Kangaroo Walker?
Speaker 5Oh no, I wouldn't want that they jump like That'd be tough.
Speaker 1Yeah, that'd be like one of the ones on Looney Tunes. It'd be like the kangaroo dragging me down across the tundra. Yeah, like Scott happened this morning. Like Scott out on the rug.
Speaker 5You have to tell everybody what happened.

Speaker 1Well, scott's okay. By the way, he's okay. Mom, be sure to ask Scott. He's okay. Yes, ms Brenda, he's okay, as he was leaving. I'm sitting, you know. I look over and I can see Scott's head looking back at me laying on the ground. I thought that's odd. Usually he's about 5'10". But this moment he was like 1' oh you, scott's head on it laying under the lobby and I said Scott, and he had tripped over my shoe. I thought, well, that's got to stink, because that's got to happen a lot.
Speaker 5You said, you wear shoes a lot.
Speaker 1It's going to get old after a while.
Speaker 5I would think if that's what caused it. But he's okay. We're laughing now because he's okay. Yeah, we're laughing because A few years ago he broke his arm. Yeah, that's not funny, that was scary that was very scary but he recovered nicely.
Speaker 1But it scared me because I saw his head looking at me and said I'm okay. No, you're not. You're laying on the ground. It's like a turtle on 431.
Speaker 5Why is it so funny when?
Speaker 1somebody falls, as long as they're okay. You've got to wait and see how they.

Speaker 1Be honest, I do I do I wait and see their status first? Like I see nothing. No blood, no bones poking their nuts.

Speaker 5No, no. I fell on the walking trail like a month ago, I guess my foot went off the side. It's almost like running off on the side of the car and trying to overcorrect. That's what I did. I stepped off on the side and tried to overcorrect.

In Ohio he was disciplined for something he did back in November. He was reinstated to go back to being a lawyer yesterday For six months he was six months sanctioned. He couldn't do anything. He's a criminal defense attorney.

Speaker 1His name is Jack Jack Blakeslee of Noble County. He decided it would be funny to take a Pringles can and use the bathroom in it and then just toss it in the parking lot and let somebody open it and have a surprise.

Speaker 1No, I don't mean a pee-pee, no, no, yes. But the crazy thing is he said during his hearing that he didn't target anybody. He wasn't doing it to hurt any one person. He thought it would be funny. He did it at least ten times that year, ten.
Speaker 5Ten times. Oh my gosh. Okay, so he ate ten cans of Pringles. Yes, so he could poop in them and leave them in a parking lot.
Speaker 1For somebody to open and have a surprise.
Speaker 5That's awful. He's a criminal defense attorney, and he's doing this, yes, for six months, he was told.
Speaker 1no, you're not going to be doing anything for six months. That's awful.
Speaker 5Why is he why?
Speaker 1I don't understand the thinking. How is that? Imagine walking through the parking lot. Which people did you see a Pringles can? I don't know that I would open it. I sure wouldn't eat the chips. And if there were chips, no, I mean just a random stray pringles can laying in the parking lot, yeah, but somebody out there picked it up and looked at it and probably opened it like, like you, I just don't understand the point of doing this no times Ten, yeah, and like I understand, like sometimes you got to be creative, you got to go.
Speaker 1If you got to go, that's one thing, that's one thing. But then you discard the can in the garbage or somewhere.
Speaker 5Yes, you take it with you.
Speaker 1And who just happens to have a spare Pringles can laying around.
Speaker 5Then you got to throw in the accuracy and the aim into the equation here I wonder if he, if he, was like you see what I mean yeah, oh no, I understand completely that it's just normal that it's not explosive yes, yes, because it could go and go everywhere. But do you think that he bought these cannon pringles and was like you know what I could poop in this?
Speaker 1I think you did, because he had ten times One time probably not.
Speaker 5He got thrilled. It gave him thrills.
Speaker 1That's weird. That is strange, that's like serial killer stuff. Yeah, not normal behavior. I don't see his law practice being very popular right now.
Speaker 5I don't think I would want to use him.
Speaker 1Going through and saying, well, I'm in trouble, who do you want to call? Well, call the guy that pooped in the Pringles. Can?
Speaker 5Oh, this is all the way on Ohio. I hope somebody calls Jack and they're like hey, I was listening to a radio station in Alabama this morning and they mentioned you're pooping in the Pringles, can I know?
Speaker 1you know how, but I I feel like with your help, I can beat this thing. Yeah, that is crazy.

Speaker 1Here's what's going on. Holly's pile of stories. Hated to hear this. His son is one of my favorite actors, but I did like Dad who passed away. He was in a lot of great movies and one of I guess some of your favorite movies are the Hunger.
Speaker 5Games. Yeah, donald Sutherland. He's an actor known for films like the Dirty Dozen, mash and the Hunger Games. He passed away in Miami at the age of 88 after a long illness.
Speaker 1And he was. Was he in the? He wasn't in the last Hunger Games it was like a prequel that went back. They talked about his character and showed how his character came to be, but he wasn't actually in it, right? But still, his son, kiefer Sutherland, loved Kiefer. Yeah 24, one of my all-time favorite shows.
Speaker 5And I didn't realize that was his dad.
Speaker 1Hated to hear that. So he was a good actor. Donald Sutherland passed away, yeah.
Speaker 5Well, Soulmate, a spinoff from the horror movie Megan, is slated for release on January 2, 2026.
Speaker 1So another year and a half away, that's forever.
Speaker 5The thriller follows a man who turns an AI love bot into a deadly soulmate.
Speaker 1Oh, so if you saw Megan, you know the one we're talking about. She was a doll, yeah, that kind of lost her mind and went crazy, yeah, so this is the sequel.
Speaker 5Oh my gosh, it's going to take a year and a half to finish.
Speaker 1Come on, we'll see, we'll see.
Activists and Food Stories
Speaker 5Well, this is a funny story. Two environmental activists tried to spray paint Taylor Swift's private jet with orange paint to protest Because it's this big scandal about her carbon footprint from her frequent trips. However, the plane had already left and they ended up damaging the wrong jet.
Speaker 1That's awful, that they'd even do that, but they got the wrong jet. It wasn't even they'd even do that, but they got the wrong jet it wasn't even Taylor's jet, I heard. Jet was already gone. They just damaged whoever's I don't know. Well, it serves them right. They're still going to go to jail, as they should yeah yeah, but they got the wrong jet.
Speaker 5Oh man, I hate when I do that I know, and when that happens. Well Well, universal Orlando Resort will introduce the Dark Universe Land in 2025. This sounds so cool.
Speaker 1This will be fun to go to.
Speaker 5Yes, it has iconic monsters like Dracula, the Wolfman and Frankenstein's monster. The land will include rides, themed dining options and much more.

Speaker 1whatever. But how about this? They now say there are leeches that now can jump. No, jumping leeches are a thing.

Speaker 1Yeah, Jumping leeches are a thing. They've been captured on video in the Madagascan rainforest. These are leeches that can now jump oh my gosh.

Speaker 5You thought they had to kind of like ease up your leg, you know, and get on you and you're like ooh, there's something on me, let me get it crawled off, let me get out. They can jump and attack.
Speaker 1Now they can jump and suck on your blood so they can jump and attack. Oh, we just got a facebook message that said that leeches are still used in medicine. Oh, I didn't know, I didn't know that either. Well, now they got the jumping leeches.

Speaker 1then there's the guy in new york that tried to flush the snake down the commode. Why, steve? Steve tried to flush the snake down the commode. Wow, steve tried to flush the snake down the toilet, ended up being bitten by the snake. Now the guy from Brooklyn found the snake in his bathtub. He thought it was a worm. I'm guessing it must not have been a very long snake or big snake. However, he thought he would just dispose of it by flushing it down the commode. That's when the snake ended up turning on him and biting his finger. Luckily it was only a corn snake, wow.

Speaker 1We're going to talk more in a few minutes about what we're going to be doing today with Waddles, but again, tell people about you Now you're in Coleman County I am.
Speaker 6I'm Judy Sneed and I own Sneed's Farmhouse Sanctuary. It's in Coleman but I'm actually in West Point. It started in 2020 when my husband suggested getting chickens. I'm a city girl and so I get sometimes a lot of ridicule about me being a farmer, because they say I don't look like a farmer because I wear makeup.
Speaker 5That's funny, A farmer can wear lipstick. I'm like I have makeup. That's funny Farmers can wear lipstick.
Speaker 6I have earrings. Yeah, I am a little bit all over the place trying to find where I'm needed in the community. I try to not just help animals, but also human beings. I'm a very big advocate for mental health and I am wanting to reach more of the community with sober living facilities and domestic violence shelters, group homes. I want to be a safe place for those people to come. Wow.
Speaker 1It's amazing because when Holly's been with us not quite a year yet, but one of the first things when she joined us, we talked about what we wanted to do with the show. She said at some point we need to find a way because I really believe we need to help people with mental health. We both have depression and things like that. We've gone through a lot and there's so many people out there and there's really nobody to turn to. It's hard to find, but that was kind of one of our goals somehow to help people. And then all of a sudden you pop up on our radar two days ago about helping waddles and it turns out that you're more interested in helping the people like we are. Yep which, and it's just weird how this all came together it's not weird, it's a guy it's meant to be, I think it is yes
Speaker 6for us to be in the room yeah I think you know, uh, with having my farm. When people come into my farm, I have no idea what's going on in their mind. I have no idea what they're going through in life. And if I can help them get into the farm and get into the moment and forget that they have a $500 power bill or their job is stressful or their kids are driving them crazy or they're struggling with depression, if I can get them in the moment for at least an hour or two, I feel like I've done my job.
Speaker 1I agree.
Speaker 6And my animals get on there. It's not something that I do per se, it's my animals are so tame my, my pigs can sit like dogs oh my god, they stand on command and sit on command. Saturday, we're having swimming with the piglets, so that'll really get people into mindfulness with that. Yeah, so I'm just always looking for ways to teach people to be the best version of themselves. I also go live on Facebook and YouTube on Mondays and Wednesdays and I talk nothing but mental health for about an hour.
Speaker 6Oh wow, now it's very strange because I put on my makeup while I'm going live, which is why people say I'm not a farmer up why I'm going live, which is why people say I'm not a farmer and I just talk about real life stuff and how I got to where I am today, because I struggle myself with mental health and have my whole life. It started in high school and I've been through a lot of challenges and the way I got to where I am today is putting tools in my pocket constantly and as I go through things and challenging things, I know how to pull tools out of my pocket to deal with life.
Speaker 1Gotcha. Well, from what we know, what we've read, you do an awesome job and you're going to be helping us with Waddles the Goose coming up later today. So we're going to talk more about that in a few minutes, but first I think it's time for the taste test.

Speaker 1Yeah, a little bit, a little bit, but the taste is amazing. I love the taste, but, boy, there's some heat involved and I give it like an 8 because of the heat. I like the heat. I wish they'd take the heat out and just give me the mango taste, but I love the.

Rescuing Wattles the Goose
Speaker 1WQSB mornings with Barry and Holly WQSB's getting ready his big festival. This has become one of the biggest festivals around. Now you have to travel to do this, but it's called Crash my Playa. He's celebrating his 10th anniversary next year. The dates and music lineup have been released Now. This takes place at Moon Palace Cancun Resort in Mexico from January the 15th to the 18th. This thing sells out very fast. Now he's going to be joined by Jason Aldean, kane Brown, bailey Zimmerman, dustin Lynch, dylan Scott, elle King, jackson Dean and Nate Smith. That is a great lineup. That is a good lineup and the cool thing is they're all out there just partying, having fun, listening to music on the beach and playing music. So if you want to go do something fun, a vacation it's January the 15th or the 18th in Cancun, so you better get your tickets fast.
Speaker 5Oh, I don't want to go to Cancun to see that that would be fun. Yeah Well, to add to the hype surrounding Post Malone's hotly anticipated new album F1 Trillion, he has revealed his plans for a one-night-only concert event in Nashville on July 16th.

Speaker 5I think today is the day. Let's go.
Speaker 1We found the perfect person. Judy is with us again. If you missed us talking to Judy yesterday or a few minutes ago with Snead's Farmhouse, how long have you been helping animals in situations like this?
Speaker 6Well, since 2020, when it all started.
Speaker 1So what was the first one? What made you say, okay, I'm going to help this animal. What kind of led you to help the very first? What was the first animal you helped?
Speaker 6Her name was Penny penny lane and she was a duck. Um, she was thrown out at a lake in a local uh community and her sister they saw the. They saw a neighborhood person actually saw them dump, the ducks, and they were little ducklings and so when the family tried to get them and couldn't, well, when they came back the next day, one of them was missing and so she was like I've got to get this duck, and so she did, and of course she lived in the middle of the city and the duck lived in the bathroom. So she called me and she was like will you please rescue this duck? Well, penny lane became a star. Oh, she was the most, she had the best personality.
Speaker 6Um, she lived with me for about four years until she passed away, because she is a pecan duck and you've heard of a pecan restaurant, right, okay, I haven't like a chinese restaurant that sells duck pecan. Oh, okay, so pecan is the white, big white ducks, the jumbo pecans. Well, she's a jumbo Pekin and so many people go to Tractor Supply and they sell them and they think, oh, I'm going to give my kids some ducks for Easter, and they get them home and then they're ducks, right, and they poop. They're nasty, it's constant cleanup and they go dumping at a local lake because they think that's what the thing to do is. Well, what happens is they can't survive. Well, a jumbo Pekin duck gets really big. So what ends up happening is they have leg and foot injuries because they're so heavy that they can't walk. So the longevity of a Pekin duck is not very long. So I get a lot of those that I rescue.
Speaker 1Okay, now waddles we found a couple of weeks ago. We were walking and saw something on its foot and, okay, it stepped in something, it'll probably mud, it'll get it off of it. So we were back like a week later and it was still there. Yeah, still as bad as it looked the first time. We realized it's not just something that's going to fall off, something's wrong.
Speaker 5It may actually look worse this week than it looked last week because of that fishing line. That's wrapped.
Speaker 1So people have been messaging saying I've seen that goose around there for a while now. Now we went yesterday and took a better video of it. So from looking at the video, what do you think might be wrong with wattles?
Speaker 6As a farmer, you really rely on other farms to help you kind of dictate what's going on Because, I be honest, in the veterinary world they don't learn about poultry. There's only a small portion where they learn about poultry. So farms really have to rely on each other for help on what to do with certain situations that they come across. Well, I noticed in the comments a lot of people thought it was bumblefoot. I'm very experienced with bumblefoot because of the ducks and the chickens that I have. I've never seen bumblefoot this bad, so I'm not really sure if it is bumblefoot, but if it is, I personally know how to treat it.
Speaker 5So for our listeners, describe real quick what is bumblefoot. It's infection.
Speaker 6So basically, what happens is, let's say, there's a little bit of a laceration on the bottom of their foot.
Speaker 5So it could be like a fish hook right and then the infection dirt bacteria gets into that.
Speaker 6Uh crack right and then it causes inflammation and the it and the bacteria just keeps growing and if you don't get the bacteria in the core out, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger. Um, so if it is that and hopefully I know y'all said that you really can't see the bottom of the foot, so that might be something that I will have to take wattles to the veterinarian for, because it might be worse than I can handle. But once I get there and see it, I want to see I brought the proper gloves, you know, making sure everything's safe for wattles, because the last thing I want to do is make things worse for wattles. So I'm going to assess it, see if I can get the fishing line myself off. If it's something that I think will be a risk for wattles, then I will take the wattles to a vet that is very experienced in poultry that can help us that is awesome.
Speaker 1No, we've talked about doing it sunday because you're busy, your schedule wise, but when you saw the video you said when I need to get there sooner, so we're going to go down sometime later this morning right I I saw the video and I said I felt as though wattles was coming up to you.
Speaker 6Yeah, going, please help me. Uh-huh, really, please help me, please help me. For a wild goose to come that close. He's asking for help, right. And so I said you know what I'm fixing to rearrange my whole entire schedule to go help Waddles. So I'm really hoping that we can get our hands on him or her today and get some help.
Speaker 5Yeah, we just thank you so much because our listeners are so invested, we're so invested in this. We want the best for wattles and we know that there's, uh, a lot of ducks down there and people say let nature run its course. No, we can't do that, barry. We have to help these animals and, judy, we're really thankful that you're here and made the trip to be here with us.

Speaker 6It's Snead's Farm what you do. So, um, like I said, I'm a little bit of everywhere. This past couple of months I've been at the libraries, and when I go to the libraries I do a whole production. So one thing that I have always wanted to do is dance in the middle of new york. Um, I've danced my whole life. I never made it to new york, so I became an aerobic instructor and I taught aerobics for 28 years and that was my side job.
Speaker 6I was in sales at Verizon Wireless for a long time, got married and moved to South Alabama, and we ended up getting transferred from South Alabama to Coleman, where I didn't know a soul, and so my stepdad had gotten sick and I was staying home with him and I'm not a stay-at-home person, I'm not. I've worked two jobs my whole life and so my husband suggested getting chickens and I took him up on it. I tried something new and so I got chickens. But what I do is I prefer people to come to my farm. I really don't like to take animals off the premises, but I will. So I've been going into libraries and what I do is um, I've written a children's book my cousin did about my farm and the name of it is it takes two to make a farm go right. Well, naturally I'm a dancer, so you're not that song.
Speaker 5it takes two to make a thing go right oh yeah so I make it, take two to get it out of sight. There you go, girl. So what, so what?
Speaker 6I do is I play Simon Says with the kids because in the beginning I would tell them that they were going to dance with me and they were like, oh no, so it's really a mental thing. So I want to get them in the moment. So I begin to tell them my name is Aunt Judy. I call myself Aunt Judy because I want people to feel at home at my farm, right? So then I play Simon Says with the kids and then I get them in a position and I tell them Simon Says, freeze. And then I start playing that song and I go Simon Says dance and all those kids are just jamming and where it says it takes two to make a farm, go, right, how many? And they're screaming at the top of their lungs too. That's good.
Speaker 6Then I lead into reading my book and then I lead into with the small animals. But I do field trips as well. I am open to the public on Fridays, saturdays and Sundays at 10 am, but you must book the tour on my website, sneedsfarmhousecom, because that is your home, it is my home. Sometimes people pull in the driveway. They're like wait a minute, I'm at a house.
Speaker 1I'm like yep you're at Judy's house. What animals do you have there?
Speaker 6I have alpacas, many cows, sheep, goats, pigs, donkey, turkeys, chickens, peacocks, rabbits, tortoise. What am I leaving out?
Speaker 5You've got everything. I can't think of anything. What about an emu? I'm scared of those. They're mean. Yeah, I know. Yes, I'm scared, I know you should be.
Speaker 6I have spent a lot of time training my animals. So my animals? When you think of a petting zoo, you think that you're going to walk around with food. Well, my animals are not trained with food. You can go out there and sit in my farm and you get. My alpacas will kiss you on the lips. Oh my God, I'm not joking. My pigs will sit like dogs. They stand on command. I sit out there and lay on my pigs and read a book. It is amazing. You know what? I used to sit out there and lay on my pigs and read a book.
Speaker 5It is amazing. You know what I absolutely recommend anybody that's having trouble mentally, having anxiety, depression. Just go out to Judy's Farm and book you a trip and play with those animals, Because that animal therapy is real it really is. That releases those really good hormones in your brain where you just feel better.
Speaker 6Well, you know a lot of people talk about that have mental health. I wish I could go to the doctor, but the copay is too expensive, or I don't know who to go to, or it takes too long to make a connection. And it's amazing what you can do to help your mental health without going to the doctor. And animal therapy is the key, and I will tell you that when you come to my farm, you're going to hear my own personal testimony how I've struggled my whole life with mental health, and the animals bring me to mindfulness every single day. Every single day.

Speaker 1Like you were saying, your dog Doug, when you have a bad day, he'll come over and just lay next to you. It's weird. You know, he doesn't have to say a word.
Speaker 5Yeah, and he just knows, like if I've had an upset day or I'm crying, he just knows. He knows it's not time to play.
Speaker 1He lap or he'll lay beside me and it's just my best. He's my best friend, he's a companion, doesn't judge. My family member sits there if you want to talk. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so that's good.
