If you want a clear look at the way Michael Bates grew up, just turn on the famous documentary “Meth Storm” on Netflix. This is the town he grew up in, and the people he knew as his community. I met Bates as my husband’s Sgt. in the Marine Corps. Immediately he was intimidating to me, but as we grew to know each other, I quickly realized how much more to his story I had to learn.
In this episode, you’ll hear how Bates (that’s what we call him) went from living in an abandoned school bus, to owning a plane that he flies his family and friends around in. It wasn’t easy, and it took work, but his perspective on life will leave you both inspired AND motivated to take a look at all of those opportunities around you and ask yourself…why not?
