There are many lessons we can draw upon from each and every day, but holidays that have lost their meaning- specifically, the faith aspect of it all- can help us reflect on the world's walk of faith, and especially our own.
Today is Memorial Day. It has been misconstrued into a celebration and joyous occasion. While it's good to be grateful and celebrate the freedom we have, the lack of acknowledgement for the sacrifices made in order to obtain that freedom is not.
The meaning of Memorial Day is to pray for peace and unity.
Jesus Christ offers us a peace that this world cannot offer. We are called, as believers, to pursue peace and unity. We were warned that the world would be troublesome and chaotic, but Christ has overcome the world.
By trying to follow Christ, and encouraging others to do so, we all move toward one body that will be unified in a spirit of peace.
Join me on this episode as we cover the topics of life, death, tears, and peace, which are often a part of war and military service.
