Hello, beautiful people and welcome back to Faith Focused Prayers, where we spend time with God daily and allow Him to change and transform us into who he has called and created us to be. Earlier this morning I was thinking about why I say hello, beautiful people, at the beginning of every episode, and before I started this podcast, I used to do daily affirmations and prayers on TikTok, and then I stopped for a while and then I went back and then I stopped again and now we're on a podcast. But as I was walking downstairs in my kitchen this morning, I seen a magnet I have on my fridge and it says the most beautiful people are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, a deep, loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen, and that quote is written by Elizabeth Kuber Ross, and I remember seeing this magnet in an airport I don't remember where I was traveling to, but I read it and it resonated with me so much that I bought it and I put it on my fridge so I could see it every day, and I believe that's where hello beautiful people came from, because you're beautiful. If you have been through anything hard, anything tragic, anything, um, even remotely difficult, and you have overcame that and have still managed to appreciate life and have an understanding and have compassion and have kindness and have love, then you're beautiful.

Speaker 1:

And so when I say hello beautiful people, I'm saying hello overcomers, hello strength, hello Jesus-filled believers, hello the new you, the stronger you, the wiser you, the known you, the you that God created you to be, the one who is a conqueror, the one who's victorious. And I just feel like that's so fitting with what Faith Focused Prayers is, that it's a podcast and a brand that's meant to encourage you and to push you and to motivate you, no matter what situation you had to overcome, no matter what you're going through right now. It's speaking to the future you, the you that gets it on the other side, the you that you're going to become after the heartache, after the heartbreak, after the trials, after the tribulations. And so I just thought that was cool, especially since this is the beginning season of faith-focused prayers. But I should just explain that a little bit.

Speaker 1:

But before we go any further, y'all already know what time it is it's time for our daily affirmation and prayer. I was going to do today's affirmation a little bit different because of what the topic is. There's just a couple of affirmations that came to my mind. Affirmation a little bit different because of what the topic is. There's just a couple of affirmations that came to my mind, and so the first one is the Lord hears my prayers. The Lord hears my prayers. The second is my prayers make a sound in heaven. The third one is I hear God and God hears me. But when you know that God hears you and that you know your prayers are not in vain, when you know that your prayers will receive answers, when you know that God hears you the moment you speak and that he's a God who answers swiftly, when you know that your prayers change things, that they make a sound in heaven, that they um, they the word I'm trying to find is basically, they impact the kingdom of darkness. Your prayers impact the kingdom of darkness and that's why the enemy fights us with praying, because god says pray without ceasing. The Bible says make all your prayers known, your supplications, your cares all known to Jesus. Tell him about everything, Tell God about every little thing, anything that has you anxious, anything that has you weighed down, anything that has you worried? Because when you pray and enter into God's presence, you're able to find peace, you're able to find restoration, you're able to find healing, you're able to find strength.

Today, when I left work, I was literally so drained and all I kept thinking is I just have to get home to pray. I just need to get home so I can go into God's presence and get recharged. And when I came home, that's exactly what I did. I just fell on my knees and prayed and weeped and cried and once I was finished, god spoke, I spoke, we fellowshiped, he revealed things to me and I felt so much better.

Speaker 1:

And the enemy doesn't want that. He wants you to continue to be weighed down. He wants you to continue to try to figure things out on your own and with prayer, even though you may not get a solution in that moment, you may not see change in that moment. You just have to trust and believe that God hears you and God is moving on your behalf and that God's going to be able to bring you peace in your situation. The Bible says Jesus is the Prince of Peace and he will give you a peace that surpasses all understanding. So, even though the situation may be the same, your perception about the situation will be different when you leave prayer, your endurance in the situation will be different when you leave prayer. Your strength through the situation will be different when you leave prayer.

Speaker 1:

So, lord, I just thank you. I thank you that we have prayer and that you encourage us to constantly pray, god. I thank you that you give us permission to lay everything at your feet, god, and that you lend an ear to us, even though you already know everything, god. You already knew every situation that was going to happen. You already know every thought in our head, but you want to have a fellowship and relationship and communion with us where you allow us to tell you over and over and over again. Thank you that you are so mindful, god. Thank you that you restore us, you redeemed us, you healed us, god, and you give us everything we need. Lord. Thank you, and I just ask that you continue to have your way through this episode, that you touch the listener right now, god, and that by the end of this episode, they feel encouraged to pray, they feel strengthened to pray, they feel bold enough to pray God, and that they will see transformation in their life through their prayers. In Jesus' name, amen.

Okay, so, like I said, this episode episode we're talking about prayer, we're talking about being called to pray, and I'm just going to write what I wrote down, because this is actually supposed to be my very first episode, but I end up doing some other things before that. So here we are are I wrote. It's a big deal. When God has called you to prayer, it means he hears you, god sees you and God knows you. It means your heart is pure, your prayers are effective and that a change takes place from heaven to earth through your fellowship with God. Just as some people are called to preach, teach, pastor, worship, many of us are called to prayer. The Bible commands us all to pray and to do so without ceasing.

Speaker 1:

Of course, prayer changes things, but I also believe there is a special mandate on individuals who enjoy communion with God. David, for example, with the book of Psalms, and although he did not write all of them and many of those are written as songs to the Lord, today we use them as prayers and worship. There was a special grace on David through his communion with God. That is so true, and I heard somebody say this as I was watching a video on YouTube. She said that prayer. I mean she said that David was so close with God that he ended up prophesying about Jesus and didn't even know it was Jesus. He was speaking up in the Psalms and didn't even know it was Jesus he was speaking of in the Psalms. And I just thought that was so cool, because when you spend that much time with God, that much time loving him, serving him, worshiping him, knowing him, he begins to reveal the mysteries of you.

Speaker 1:

And I also seen something in my minister's class that said mysteries of God are not hard things but hidden things. Everyone thinks the mysteries of God are things that are hard to understand and to know, but they're very simple. They're just hidden because it takes communion and it takes fellowship with God, it takes intimacy for God to reveal them and I just thought that was so cool. God even said that David is a man after his own heart and he'll do whatever he says. That's Acts 13 and 22. The only way to be after someone's heart, to know someone's heart, is by spending time with them. The only way to do whatever someone says is to get instructions from them. So that means David, like I said, was very close with God. David had to be in constant communication with God.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so now I want to talk about some ways I knew I was called to prayer before I ever even knew God or had a relationship with God. I would pray like before I was ever saved. I would pray because I had this like better safe than sorry mindset. Also, the first time I ever prayed out loud when I finally did get saved, the first time I ever prayed out loud, a miracle happened, like God answered a huge prayer. It was insane and I'm going to save that for another episode later down the line. But just know it was insane and I'm gonna save that for another episode later down the line. But just know it was a miracle and that is one of the things that increased my faith so much in the beginning of my walk, because I was so nervous to pray and then I did it I'll allow for the very first time and God answered and it was a miracle.

Speaker 1:

Okay, number three God places people on your heart, thoughts, dreams, and gives you unctions. I dream every night, every night, if I go to sleep, take a nap. I had a dream. I don't know why, but I constantly dream because I guess that's just one of the ways God really enjoys speaking to me, or maybe I don't pray enough where he has to speak to me in my dreams. But I dream every night and a lot of times random people will drop in my dreams. Not random as in I don't know them, but people from the past, people I haven't seen, people that just for no reason, I don't know why. They happen to be there, and I'm starting to learn that as God drops people in my dreams, he's kind of giving me a unction to intercede and pray for those people. I started to realize that because I would have a dream about somebody and I wouldn't pray for them and I wouldn't pray for them, and then a week or a couple of days later they would post on social media how they're battling with depression or they're having such a hard time. And I realized, oh, that's what my dream was about, because it's always something connected to that, like me trying to encourage them in the dream or things like that.

Speaker 1:

God, I also pray a lot in my dreams. Another thing that makes me feel like I'm called to prayer is my very first speaking engagement outside of my church was being invited to a BSU awards gala to pray at a college campus that I was not attending. So I was like, okay, what's the chances that, out of the blue, someone invites me to come and pray at an event at a school event at that? So I was like, okay, god, I see what you're doing. Um, and then another way I feel like I knew I was called to pray is that God kept placing ideas in my head concerning prayer, like faith-focused prayers, like God gave me faith-focused prayers years ago, like 2018. And I just didn't move on it or I would start it and then drop it Daily affirmations and prayers. God gave me that years ago and it's just something always concerning prayer.

Another reason I feel like you know if you're called to prayer is that I enjoy intimate time with God more than I enjoy communal settings. Like I feel more recharged when I'm alone in the presence of God versus when I'm at church, fellowshipping and of course, I enjoy fellowshipping, I love it, but I don't get the same recharge and refreshing and peace that I get when it's just me and God alone, that I get when it's just me and God alone. Another way is I feel like it's easy to get a personal response or correction or love from God. When I'm going through something and I go to God about it, it's easy for me to hear him and it's easy for me to get a response from him.

And lastly, the enemy constantly tries to fight against you praying. You know when you know you're supposed to pray and then all of a sudden you get distracted. You know you're about to pray and then somebody calls your phone. You're about to pray and then suddenly you fall asleep. You're in the midst of prayer and then you fall asleep. And then suddenly you fall asleep. You're in the midst of prayer and then you fall asleep.

Speaker 1:

Like the enemy tries to do things to distract you or to get you to not go into prayer, or he'll try to feed you lies that God doesn't hear you or that your prayers aren't effective or you don't talk well enough to pray out loud, to intimidate you and things like that. But I rebuke every lie of the enemy because that is not so. The Lord hears my prayers and my prayers make a sound in heaven. And yeah, so I just feel like we need, as a world, as a body, body, we need to be praying more. That's why I'm so excited about this channel because, whether it blows up or doesn't, whether I have no followers or a million followers or subscribers or whatever listeners, it's the fact that I'm setting time aside daily to spend time with God, to pray with God. So if this doesn't help anybody else and Lord, I pray it does. I pray that this helps many, many, many people and encourages many people and motivates many people. But if it doesn't, lord, I thank you that it's an opportunity for me to spend more time and have my mind and my heart set on you and I would love to hear responses. How does God handle you in prayer? Do you feel like you're called to prayer beyond the mandate as Christians, but do you feel a special urge, a special unction for prayer? Are you a prayer warrior? Are you an intercessor? Are you a burden bearer? Are you a filler? Are you a gatekeeper? Are you a watcher. What are. How do you feel about praying? Is it hard, is it easy? Do you pray daily, weekly, monthly? Never prayed in your life, what is it?

I love to hear responses, and so I just thank you, lord. I thank you for this episode, I thank you for this time with you. I thank you for the person listening to this. I thank you, lord, that prayer changes things and that it doesn't matter if we're eloquent in speech. It doesn't matter if we stutter or have a list or can't get our words right. You don't care about any of that, because you are a God who sees the heart and knows the heart. Lord, you see the purity, you see the genuineness in every person.

Father, and I thank you, lord. I thank you, lord, for your mindfulness, for your gentleness, for your patience with your people. God, I thank you that you have given us all power and authority through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Lord, I thank you that we have communion with you, god, that no longer does the high priest have to go and speak to you on our behalf, but that we have been called priests because of Jesus Jesus is the high priest and because of what he's done, father, and because of the veil being torn, I can now go directly into your presence and have a conversation with you, god. I thank you that not only do you allow me to speak to you, god, but that you speak to me back. I thank you, lord, that you desire relationship more than anything, god, that you desire to know me and for me to know you, that you desire closeness and intimacy with me, father, and I just pray that you allow me to keep my eyes set on you in everything that I do. God, let it bring your name glory, let it bring you praise. Lord, I just want to make you smile, I just want to make you proud, god. God, have your way every day. Order my steps, god, direct my path, father, in Jesus' mighty name, amen. Okay, guys, that's all for today's episode.

You are a royal priesthood, you are a co-heir to the throne, you are seated in heavenly places, you are full of power and authority. You are full of power and authority, the same spirit that raised Lazarus from the dead, that healed the blind man, that healed the woman with the issue of blood. The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the same spirit that lives inside of you. I love you, god loves you Bye. Spirit that lives inside of you. I love you, god loves you bye.
