Hey, welcome to Mind your Heart Podcast, your favorite corner of the internet where we chat about all things mental health. I'm Emily.

Speaker 2:

And I'm Trina. Together, we're like your real-life Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. Each week, we'll bring you real conversations about the world of mental health and we will peel back layers on topics like anxiety, depression and much more.

Speaker 1:

We're here to chat with you about the tough stuff, the everyday stuff and everything in between. So grab your emotional support water bottle I know we have ours. Find your comfiest chair or keep your eyes on the road and let's get into it. Are you ready, mom?

Speaker 2:

Absolutely. Join us as we mind our hearts and, hopefully, make minding yours a little easier. Hey Hi, welcome, welcome to Mind your Heart. We're really excited to start this podcast. We are, we've been thinking about it, we've been talking about it, we've been planning and we are excited to start. What do you say?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm excited. I mean like, and even you saying like we've been thinking about planning out it. It's not even been that long. No, it was like a spur of the moment idea. And here we are, yeah, and here we are.

Speaker 2:

I know I was actually walking one day and with my dog. I have a dog, a golden doodle, named Kobe. So Kobe and I were walking along and I'm like I wonder if Emily would do a podcast with me, because I have two podcasts. So I thought why not add a third podcast? Why not do more? Why not do more? And I thought you know, a podcast with my daughter. That way she's like kind of obligated to talk to me at least once a week and I don't get to see her. Like that is really exciting. So I thought surely she's going to say no. But she said yes, immediately.

Speaker 1:

Yes, you texted me and you were like you want to do a podcast. And I said yes, exclamation point. And you were like, wait, what? And I was like you mean you want to record a podcast together? And you're like that is what I mean.

Speaker 2:

Are you sure you're saying yes? Yeah, I didn't think you were gonna say yes, so I think that. So it's so anyway. So we decided that we were going to really be focusing on first of all, we're huge fans of the gilmore girls yes, we love, love, love lorelei and rory gilmore and we used to watch the gilmore girls together through most of emily's like teenage years.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So it was like a really special little you know tradition that we had together. We both rewatched the series over and over again. Yes, and the funny thing is is we didn't start off watching it Like we didn't watch it when it actually came out. I feel like you were like four.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, when it actually came out, when it actually came out.

Speaker 2:

And so it was such a special thing to find. And we're also huge. Like I love lauren, graham and alexis bladel and lauren and we're not going to be as witty as lauren. Like she's a witty, funny person and that's not just um her character, she's also like that in person, because I've listened to every one of her audiobooks.

Speaker 1:

We're super fans and we want her to come on the show one day.

Speaker 2:

So that's the goal.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're putting that out there. We have big goals. Yeah, lauren, if you're listening to this podcast by chance give us a call.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we'd love to have you, so anyway. So it's going to be a little bit about moms and daughters, a little bit about mental health Not a little bit a lot about mental health and we're going to talk about things. You know, some hard things, some things, some mindset things to you know, help, support people, and we feel really strongly, both of us, about you know, like putting out good energy into the world and accepting you just as you are.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, and I have recently started my confidence coaching side of my business and it's something that you've been working on like very heavily this year and we've both worked on it so much within our lives, so it's been that aspect of things has been a big part, absolutely.

Speaker 2:

I mean we're talking years and years of counseling.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, for for us both, for both of us.

Speaker 2:

So so we feel like we have something to share and we hope that you will stick around with us and you will tune into our podcast. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. We're gonna we're gonna do Monday, so we're gonna drop an episode each Monday, so it'll be mind your heart Monday. So hopefully that'll be easier to remember and we are very excited. So we hope that you join us next week.
