Michael Stocker, Founder, Ocean Conservation Research

Michael Stocker is an acoustician and naturalist by trade and a musician by avocation, he has written and spoken about marine bio-acoustics and the impacts ocean noise pollution on marine life since 1992, presenting in national and regional hearings, national / international television, radio / news publications, and museums, schools, universities. His understanding of physics and biology has proven invaluable in court testimony and legal briefs, defending the environment against the dangers of human generated noise in the sea.

Michael’s gift for conveying complex scientific and technical issues in clear, understandable terms is key in his role as a public spokesperson on issues of ocean conservation, physics, communication technology, and biology. He has been the subject matter expert in many national and international radio and television interviews, and published various articles on science, biology, acoustics and technology in national and international journals.
