Dr. Cliff Redford (00:08)
Hey everyone, this is Dr. Cliff and welcome to my new weekly podcast, Vet Life with Dr. Cliff. I've been a veterinarian since 98. I've had some pretty crazy and fun experiences during that time. So I'm looking forward to sharing them all with you guys. On each episode, I'm going to discuss some interesting topics from the animal health world. For example, on episode one, I'm going to warn everyone about the oncoming zombie raccoon apocalypse.
Look, that took me about 45 minutes to create. So, I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to do that for every single episode. It's worth it for the trailer. I hope you guys liked it. I hope you thought it was pretty funny. Send me an email. Tell me what you think. I'm going to talk about the tick in Texas that infects people with a very trendy disease of being a vegan. Yes, it is true. If this tick bites you, then you become a vegan.
I think mother nature's fighting back and I don't think she plays fair. I'm going to talk about some cool wildlife cases I encountered. I had this one time I had to do surgery on this two and a half pound American bullfrog and I'll get into it later. It was a pretty funny story, but the big issue is I was having trouble with anesthesia and we actually ended up having to call my buddies down under in Australia.
to talk to the experts at the Frog Hospital. There's actually a hospital in Australia that caters to or specializes only in frog emergencies, medicine and surgery. So I got to visit there sometime. It sounds like a pretty cool place. Other than that, I'm going to get some listener questions hopefully and answer those and hopefully they'll be pretty entertaining. And then there's going to be a weekly segment called the random rant.
for those who know me, I'm pretty opinionated and, not all my opinions are popular, but they're mine. So you can't have them. They're very special. so I'm going to have these random rants and it's not always going to be about veterinarian stuff. Cause being a veterinarian isn't only about being a veterinarian. You know what I mean? So until then be kind to animals, be kind to yourself, be kind to each other. And why don't you be kind to me and tune in weekly to vet life with Dr. Cliff. Cheers.
