Speaker 1:

Hey, there, it's Evan Nathaniel Grimm, and welcome to the latest episode of Astrology Unbound. Today, I will be covering the cathartic, healing Pisces lunar eclipse, and I will also help you navigate this sensitive, irritable Mars and Cancer transit. Before I begin, though, be sure to check out my sub stack for an in-depth breakdown of my predictions for the world, my step-by-step manifestation guides for each full moon, intention setting, recommendations for new moons, educational content and more. Now, I do also have a paid subscription service through that, where you can access my horoscopes and sign-by-sign predictions, and you can also access a monthly Zoom call where you can ask me any questions and we can talk about the transits that are currently going on. So I'm going to divide this episode into two halves, so, first off, I want to cover the partial lunar eclipse that is coming on the night of September 17th into the early morning hours of September 18th, depending on where you are in the world. So we are definitely, with this eclipse, getting a preview of what's to come when the North and South Node eventually go into Pisces and Virgo. Anytime we have an eclipse, it is definitely a dicey moment when trying to manifest. I will actually explore, though, today, some clever ways that you could attempt to manifest during this lunar eclipse. Now, if you listen to really any astrologer, they will tell you not to manifest on an eclipse. But, as maybe it's my Scorpio stellium but I'm definitely someone who has benefited from, you know intentional action and inspired action on lunar eclipses, even total lunar lunar eclipses. So I'm going to sort of explain some alternative pathways there to manifestation. But just keep in mind that if you are at the end of this episode still feeling, maybe, like you know, a little uncertain about the eclipse or you don't want to pursue the sort of alternative path I'm going to lay out, then that's totally fine. I don't think that anyone has to manifest on an eclipse. But if you're in a position where you feel like you have a grasp of enough you know you have control over enough variables in your life but you're also willing to work with the transiting lunar nodes, your natal lunar nodes, which I'll talk about then I think that there is a lot of good that can come from the sort of energetic reset that may occur.

Speaker 1:

But before I dive into this particular eclipse, I just want to give a rundown here of the eclipses and you know what they are. So, as I've talked about in previous episodes. We experience lunation cycles. You know previous episodes. We experience lunation cycles, you know, every 29 and a half odd days, and within each lunar cycle we have a new and full moon phase, which are separated by approximately two weeks, and during certain parts of the year there can be a newer full moon that actually lines up with one of the lunar nodes.

Speaker 1:

Now, what are the lunar nodes? So the lunar nodes just to be really clear about this, the lunar nodes are not actually celestial bodies, they are not planets, they are not moons or something. They are actually just marking the intersection of the moon's orbit around Earth and the ecliptic plane, which is the path that the sun takes, you know, in the sky. So what happens here is we have the lunar nodes divided into the south node and the north node, which are naturally opposing each other. The south node, or the descending node, is marking the intersection between the moon's path and the ecliptic plane, at which the moon is dropping below the ecliptic, because the moon's orbit around the earth does not match the ecliptic. It is at a, you know, a different angle, and so it at times will hit the ecliptic and move downward and then come back up and hit the ecliptic on its way up. And that's the north node, by the way. So the north node of the moon is marking the intersection point at which the moon is starting to rise above the ecliptic in its orbit. So that's the astronomy of it.

Speaker 1:

So anytime we have a new or full moon, technically within about 18 degrees of the north or south node, it will be an eclipse of some kind and the totality of the eclipse depends on how close to contact the newer full moon is to the nodes. But essentially, because the nodes are marking that point where the moon's orbit matches the ecliptic in some, or it does match the ecliptic, that means that essentially, in the case of a solar eclipse, when the moon is passing between the sun and the earth, it is in such a position that it can actually block the sun's light, either totally or partially, or just the outer ring or something like that, and that's again because the moon is closely matching the ecliptic. Again because the moon is closely matching the ecliptic, so on a lunar eclipse, the moon is on the other side of the earth, so on the far side of the earth from the sun, and again due to its alignment with the ecliptic, the earth will actually block the moon from receiving the sun's light. So typically on a full moon, which is a sun-moon opposition, the moon will actually receive the sun's light and that's part of the symbolism of, you know, manifestation that we talk about and why it's important to manifest during a full moon, because at that time the moon is receiving the sun's light and the light of the sun is clarifying. It's essential, it's powerful, it's you know it's powerful, it's you know, it has a lot, it's illuminating the moon and so it can really bring our desires and wishes and hopes into the physical plane. So in some respects, the logic here is like on a lunar eclipse, for example, the moon's light, or sorry, the sun's light is blocked and so the moon is not really receiving all the sun's light. And you may even see the moon, you know, sort of a reddish color and it can have an ominous association or something. And because the sun's light is blocked, it can make it difficult or complicated to again bring something into reality. Likewise, on a solar eclipse, we're talking about the blockage of the sun's light and in that case the moon is the celestial body blocking the sun rather than the earth. And so during a solar eclipse. The theory is that the sun's again essential life force, the logos, the even like rational mind and the spirit and the source and all that source energy, is slightly distorted or affected by the blockage from the moon. So, in either case, it can be seen as sort of you know, again risky, really in a way risky to actually try and aim for some kind of particular objective.

Speaker 1:

Now, again, I want to stress this, I personally, and I think everyone can probably agree, if you were to look back at the eclipses in your life, eclipses can play out in highly positive, neutral or highly negative ways. It really depends. And what drives it? Well, it really depends on, I think, your karma, because we're talking about the north and south node being involved in an eclipse, talking about the North and South Node being involved in an eclipse, and I think it does, of course, matter whether it's the North or South Node, but essentially, you know, the South Node is bringing up, you know, qualities we've already mastered, but also is referencing our past actions, maybe things we need to release. The North Node is that which we are trying to devour, it is that which we are trying to aim for and evolve towards. Eclipses could be a turning point for you and a life-changing moment that really benefits you and that would be incumbent on or predicated upon your karma, heading into that eclipse, especially in that zone of your chart where the south node is transiting. But I also would argue it also depends on your south node natively. How are you working with your past life energy? How are you working with your karma? So it does depend on a multitude of factors and I'll talk through some of that today.

Speaker 1:

But in this case we're talking about a lunar eclipse and we are talking about a partial eclipse Because the north node is still in Aries. It's at six degrees of Aries at this time and the moon is at 25 Pisces, so that's about 11 degrees of separation. So again, within that 18 degree orb of within that eclipse zone. But it is not necessarily as powerful as like a total lunar eclipse. But either way, because it's a lunar eclipse think about full moons, remember, as manifestation moments or release points, climaxes. So with a lunar eclipse, some astrologers kind of call it like a full moon on steroids, or it is a.

Speaker 1:

You know, a lunar eclipse can be an unexpected release, an unexpected purging, an unexpected letting go, and I always talk about on my podcast that full moons do not have to coincide with endings. They can just be awakenings, transition points. But because we're looking at the last sign of the zodiac Pisces, and it's conjunct Neptune which rules Pisces, I feel that this eclipse has a finality to it, a feeling of letting go, a feeling of release. So I think it's less likely to be an awakening for you, it's less likely to be a transition point, but it still could be Anytime.

Speaker 1:

We have a full moon in Pisces, you know, I think it does offer some opportunity to heal. To heal either by exercising greater compassion, forgiving someone you know, maybe even like physically healing, mentally healing, spiritually healing, maybe even like physically healing, mentally healing, spiritually healing. And in this case, being in eclipse and having the full moon conjunct Neptune, I think that the release can be very cathartic, almost overwhelming, and it can kind of change the way that you interface with the emotional realm, the emotional landscape around you. You could wake up to an enormous amount of suffering in the world that you want to help heal. Maybe you become motivated on this eclipse to pursue some kind of humanitarian mission. Maybe you experience the sublime power of a divine figure or you make contact with your spirit guides and suddenly you're inspired to go in a new spiritual direction.

Speaker 1:

So, as I'm saying this, in these examples, you're seeing how, again, this doesn't necessarily have to be a release point, but for a lot of you, I think, this will will again be some kind of ending or conclusion. Now, it could be a conclusion of something that started around I believe it was March 10th, during the Pisces new moon earlier this year, because it's in the same sign but it could also mark a conclusion of something you set intentions around on the Virgo new moon in early September, on September 2nd. And no matter what, though, this conclusion to me is a total emotional release of some kind, and it is a letting go, it is a detachment and it is a surrender. So could it be a surrender to a higher power? Certainly, you could surrender your resistance to vulnerability. You could surrender your controlling tendencies, you could surrender a certain attitude that you thought was toxic. You could surrender a habit or a lifestyle that you don't really want anymore. You could surrender to well, just to the healing process. You could allow yourself to be healed. You could literally be recovering from during this lunar eclipse, from some kind of cold or whatnot, but ultimately, first and foremost, just know that this eclipse could be that again, letting go, that parting of ways with something that surrender, and as you surrender, hopefully again, that either heals you or illuminates something about either your life, your self-development or your place in the world, your purpose. And I do think that as you surrender to something or as you let something go, it could be followed up by some kind of inspiration that you have suddenly, because Pisces is very tapped into the collective, the zeitgeist and what people need.

Speaker 1:

I just want to talk about some other aspects on it. On the full moon, so we do have Venus opposite Chiron. So I do think for many of you you will be surrendering to vulnerability or you will finally forgive someone, because Venus opposite Chiron has immense healing potential in a relationship. Now could this also be you consulting with, like a shaman or a healer? Absolutely, it could be more of a formal healing session, and Mercury will also post Saturn. So absolutely some of you could be cutting off contact with someone else, though this could be partly about forgiving. But, moving on, this could be a moment where you are just having a serious discussion with someone and I think if you are a business person, you're an entrepreneur. Maybe there is even a sense of betrayal with a business partner Hopefully not, but you definitely want to watch out for that and in other cases, yeah, even in a relationship, there could be a feeling of betrayal.

Speaker 1:

Now, one other aspect about this full moon that I really want to emphasize is the idea of delusions and delusions breaking down and breaking apart, because, pisces, it encompasses that theme of like, delusion, deception, lying, you know, projecting, idealizing, misperceiving. So if you are holding on to a fantasy version of someone or a fantasy about where this job could go for you or where this relationship could go, you may wake up on this full moon to the reality, because it is still within a wide conjunction to Saturn and Mercury is opposite Saturn. You could apply a more realistic lens to a situation and realize that you have to adjust your expectations and in a lot of ways, that expectations adjustment will be very healthy and productive for you in the long run. But of course, in that moment it could sting a little bit. You might realize that someone in your life who you keep expecting to change won't change. Or, with Pisces trying to play the savior, you might realize that you can't actually change someone, you can't save someone, you cannot be responsible for someone to dig themselves out of a rut or get themselves out of a rut. So that may be the harsh realization that you come into at this time, but again, it is for the best if that becomes the realization Now, as I talked about in my channeled message for my paid Substack subscribers a few weeks ago, some of these delusions might not actually be earth-shattering, because I think you've already faced some of them when Saturn and Neptune stationed retrograde in Pisces late June, early July.

Speaker 1:

But this may kind of put the bowtie on that situation and close it out and finally be a line of demarcation where you sever communication with someone or you finally own up to the things that need to change in your business, in your relationship, in your lifestyle, in your health. And also we do have Mars bending the lunar nodes, so global conflicts are possible, it is possible that people will feel very protective, nations will feel very protective and lately, as I've talked about again in other episodes, we have seen a lot of changes in the. You know the theater of war when Mars is, you know, in a conjunction or a hard aspect to the lunar nodes. So yes, absolutely there could be a change in the Middle East or with Russia and Ukraine or somewhere else. But in your own life, mars and Cancer which I'm going to transition to talking about in a bit may just show you what you're willing to protect and defend and nurture.

Speaker 1:

But before I do that, I just want to quickly talk about an alternative pathway to potentially manifesting something on this lunar eclipse. Now I want to be really clear about this. You shouldn't actually just mindlessly try to manifest something or anything on the eclipse without a very careful approach. So I'm going to try to give that to you now. So, number one just remember that the lunar nodes are involved. So if you're trying to manifest something on this lunar eclipse, you have to go and look at where the north and south node are right now, and especially the south node, because this is based on our past actions. This is really the release point and these are the lessons we're still trying to learn in a lot of ways, and this is where we may face an undoing in some ways. So the south node is in Libra right at this time of the eclipse and Venus is the dispositor of the south node because it rules Libra, and Venus is in Libra opposing Chiron and Aries. So if you are not willing to be vulnerable, if you are not willing to open up to the people you're closest to, if you are still erecting these walls, if you are keeping everybody at arm's length, if you see yourself as someone who doesn't have to do any work on yourself, then you should not try to manifest anything on this eclipse, because that would show that you are still working through the south node energies quite dramatically. If you are willing, though, to do those things, then I think you're already quite a ways of the way there to maybe being able to do something with this eclipse. And not necessarily I don't think you'll ever be able to 100% control the outcome of an eclipse, but you can still put some degree of control on your side insofar as you're working with the south node.

Speaker 1:

Now, look at where you have Libra in your birth chart, of course, to see where the south node is. So let's say you have Libra in the seventh as an Aries rising, then that would put the focus on, specifically, relationships. If you are a Pisces rising, it would put it in the eighth house. So that would show areas where you're still learning lessons when it comes to, like, intimacy with a partner, financial merging with partners and, potentially, shadow work. So look at the house of your chart that's ruled by Libra, but also consider the meta themes of the South noted Libra, which you know I briefly touched on there. So are you still learning the same lessons over and over in your relationships or not?

Speaker 1:

And again, with the dispositor opposing Chiron, here you specifically want to look at your willingness to be vulnerable. Now, of course, look at the North noted Aries as well. Are you willing to be willing to be independent? Are you able to stand in your own strength? Are you able to maintain a position despite resistance from others? Are you able to remain steadfast in your decisions and not succumb to the wishes of others or self-consciousness in yourself? If you feel like you have a strong sense of self-worth, self-esteem and self-confidence and you are again headstrong in some respects and confident and secure in yourself, then again you may be able to control some of the things that you're releasing at this time, or the things that you know you maybe are inspired by. You may be able to pursue a new direction during this eclipse based on the Piscean inspiration that comes through.

Speaker 1:

But then you also have to look at your natal north and south node, and that will also give you a clue as, to like, with the south node, what is your Achilles heel, but also your gift. But also, what are you working on? So maybe you have the south node in Leo. What are you working on? So maybe you have the South Node in Leo, and so that would indicate that you may have a gift for something creative, performance related. You may have this innate childlike charisma about you, but you also may be excessively prideful at times, or showy or too obsessed with validation.

Speaker 1:

So during any eclipse you want to evaluate are you stuck in your South Node? Are you still working through that karma? Maybe even look at your 12th house, which can indicate past life actions and karma and karmic undoing. And if you had the Leo south node, then with any eclipse, ideally you'd want to be working through and to your north node in Aquarius to help at least evolve. You have to integrate your north node into your South Node. Doesn't mean you're leaving behind the South Node, doesn't mean the South Node is bad, but Aquarius has the North Node for us. Leo's South Node would show that you have to think more in a community sense. You have to really aim for progress, driving progress in the world through groups. You have to think collaboratively, you have to espouse ideas that push the collective forward and you have to be somewhat less self-centered because you are driving again progress and success through community efforts. So you know, if you were completely stuck and entrenched in your South Node, then all eclipses, I think would just be challenging for you and it probably wouldn't be a good idea to try to manifest because ultimately eclipses kind of change the station, they reset the energy, but they also help us work through and break through, I think, a lot of karmic baggage or blockages or bottlenecks.

Speaker 1:

And again, I want to be clear about this like this is just based on my own thinking on eclipses. You're not going to necessarily see any. Really you won't see any single astrologer have a universally agreed upon eclipse theory. I think that there's no real like coalescing around eclipse sort of the philosophy on eclipses with astrologers. Astrologers can obviously agree on the fundamental attributes of an eclipse, like we know that it has to be certain, like within a certain amount of separation from the north or south node. We know it obviously has to be a newer full moon. At the same time we also, you know, we know that it does entail karmic resets. We know that we can analyze the aspects, but we might not necessarily agree on whether or not you could find a way to manifest.

Speaker 1:

So, during an eclipse, think about the north or south node transiting your chart right now and natally, to figure out, okay, do I feel like I have some sense of my karmic trajectory, like do I know what I'm working on, the patterns I'm breaking out of and stepping into? So, like if you had a Libra South Node natally? It's like you have to learn how to be less codependent and you know you have to learn to stand inside of your own independence in a relationship, or maybe not even need a relationship for a while, in order to find someone whose independence you respect and who respects your independence mutually. So that's just the precursor, by the way. So if you feel like you are working very consciously through the North and South Node and the transits and in your natal chart, then that's a start.

Speaker 1:

But in terms of, like, what to actually do on an eclipse, I think that beyond that, you can do what's called inspired action. You can take inspired action on an eclipse and that is acting on your feelings and intuition in the moment very effectively. You still might not want to actually carve out a really detailed plan in advance. I mean, you can still ballpark it and I talk about that in my newsletter, my Substack newsletter but even then, you don't necessarily want to count on something going exactly as planned, because the North and South Node, they have a karmic charge to them and our karma is based on our past lives, many of which we can't even see or perceive. So, like I said, you can still consciously work with your North and South Node and the transiting North and South Node, but you don't fully know really none of us truly know whether or not we've fully worked through our past life karma yet.

Speaker 1:

But, insofar as that's true, around the time of this eclipse, if you feel, let's say, like launching a video, post or posting something on your social media, do it. I did that on a lunar eclipse in Scorpio, in my fifth house in May of 2022. And that is a video where I actually flipped the script and I didn't mention the zodiac sign until the end of the video and in that literal moment, I discovered a whole new sort of type of content that I still work with. So that's an example of inspired action. So, if you wanted to suddenly post a video if you wanted to suddenly end a relationship, if you wanted to suddenly start a relationship. I don't think that there's anything inherently wrong or impossible about that. Right Like, just tread carefully, tread consciously and move and operate in the moment, and if you actually do that, the eclipse can actually change your life for the better. Because, think about it, if I didn't take that risk to post that video at that moment, then maybe I would not have received validation for that type of content and if I hadn't received the sort of go-ahead from the audience to post that type of content, then, honestly, my whole life would probably look different, because that format of revealing the zodiac sign at the end of the video ended up helping me build a following, which then helped me bring more people into the fold, which also then allowed me to hopefully validate and prove astrology to a greater group of people and help a greater group of people. So that's sort of the domino effect that can occur on an eclipse.

Speaker 1:

But I just want to be really clear again I'm not endorsing the you know sort of like premeditated intentions and you know weeks in advance and expecting everything to go as planned. I think that you could do that, theoretically, if you had this sort of like mystical, metaphysical power about you which maybe you do, if you practice all kinds of alchemy, transmutation, like you could transmute the eclipse in your favor. But I'm not gonna like go through that on this podcast because I think that that is sort of a I just it would honestly just take such a long time to talk about. I mean, and there's so much theory behind it like maybe you could have like pluto in a dominant position in your chart right now which is helping you transform some energy. Or maybe you have so many scorpio placements in your chart that you're able to transmute energy. Maybe you have Pluto in a dominant position in your chart. Those types of things could maybe help you transmute energy on the eclipse.

Speaker 1:

But just for the sake of the podcast and being really clear with everybody, I think it's possible to bring things into the world on this lunar eclipse. But for the most part, I think you should focus on releasing, concluding and purging and walking away from things in order to travel more lightly. In that lightness and effervescence of your being and for some of you it actually could be a health-related thing you could wake up to a new lifestyle you'd like to pursue. You could wake up to a new approach you'd like to take to a certain remedy. You could suddenly wake up to, yeah, a health challenge that you want to overcome.

Speaker 1:

And now I want to talk briefly about Mars and cancer. So Mars is already in cancer. It's been in cancer since September 4th and I want to just kind of help people process and navigate this transit. I want to just kind of help people process and navigate this transit, because I think it is a little bit tricky if not dealt with consciously, because Mars, first of all, is in its fallen position here, so Mars rules Aries and Scorpio, and it is exalted in Capricorn, so Mars is actually in its detriment in both Libra and Taurus the Venus rolled signs and then fallen in Cancer, which is a moon rolled sign or the moon rolled sign, and so Cancer is our sensitivities, it is our nurturing capacity, it is our capacity to protect others and care for others, but Mars is very aggressive, so it's kind of like putting a bull in a tea shop kind of thing.

Speaker 1:

And Mars and Cancer. What is it motivating us to do, though? Because, on the upside, mars is always motivation. Mars is motivating us to again protect, defend, nourish, nurture anything and anyone we care about. It could be a property, it could be a land, it could be family, it could be a friend who feels like family. It could be that we decide to become parents or we assess our relationship to our parents or we, unfortunately, with Mars being conflict, we start fighting with our family, we start fighting with our parents, we experience all kinds of conflict within the family or with a roommate or someone we live with.

Speaker 1:

So Mars being in Cancer also makes us hypersensitive. It makes us emotionally highly sensitive and responsive, and so people may lead with their emotions when making decisions. They may become triggered and agitated by everything, and this can also make people very insular as they become protective. It's like, yeah, you learn to figure out who you want to shield from the dangers of the world, but you can also experience this hyper-insularity where you retreat into whatever faction or nest you want to retreat into. It could be a political party, a family, a nation, an inner circle. Whatever inner circle you have, you may kind of not only just experience conflict per se within those groups, but you could see yourself as a sort of warrior or a soldier for this cause, and that's why I brought up the possibility that, like something may rupture in the Middle East or between Russia and Ukraine, because it does feel like a bit of a warring type of transit.

Speaker 1:

But in your own life I think everyone is trying to defend their home turf. It's sort of this get off my lawn energy, and that's why this Mars and Cancer transit is somewhat difficult. So if you have issues within your family already, then they may be exacerbated. And remember, pluto is at the last degree of Capricorn, which deals with fathers. Cancer oftentimes deals with mothers and caregivers, but it could be family as well. So, with Mars opposite Pluto, mars and Cancer opposite Pluto and Cap, I wonder if some people are witnessing their mothers and fathers disagreeing about something, or maybe family members are fighting over an inheritance. Pluto at the 29th degree of cap kind of feels like a prominent grandfather passing away and family members fighting over the assets or the wealth or the land which is cancer. So that may be one manifestation. But in general, I think this is a moment where you are deciding who am I taking responsibility over, who am I protecting, but also what damaged relationships within my family or my inner circle do I have to address?

Speaker 1:

And Mars is not yet in its pre-shadow phase, but it will be in October, around, I believe, October 4th, and when it goes there, you will definitely be in a phase where your energy that you direct towards your family could become more frustrated. You may experience more setbacks with them and arguments. You may also become even more protective. But you know, once you're in the retrograde zone, eventually in the beginning of 2025, it will retrograde into cancer, which I'm going to address in a different episode, by the way. But you know, the first passage of Mars through cancer is actually September 3rd through, I believe, november 4th or sorry, september, what did I say? September 4th through November 3rd, mars in cancer is again going to conjure these themes. During that first pass through cancer, during the retrograde, we will be reflecting on who we're protecting and nurturing, how we're doing so. Maybe we're protecting and nurturing and nourishing ourselves, maybe we're thinking about where we want to live, maybe we're thinking about breaking away from a home or a roommate and, of course, the cardinal signs will experience this most potently. So Cancer, libra, aries, capricorn.

Speaker 1:

During those first two months of Mars and Cancer, you'll definitely want to address any lingering family tension, family issues. You will want to sort out any disagreements about parenting responsibilities and you want to decide again, like how you want to establish and sort of firmly protect your inner circle, and, you know, say, okay, this is my crew, this is my group, that feels like family, or this is my family and I'm going to take care of them and I'm going to protect them and I'm going to face any issues head on within my family, within my home. So that's number one. Number two don't be so emotionally hypersensitive and reactive to everything that happens. Don't perceive everything as a threat. Don't default to that defensive mode. Really try to understand and separate and parse out okay, what is legitimately something I need to address right now, what is something I need to protect or someone I need to protect right now, and what is more of a sensitivity I'm experiencing and, again, I will have much, much more about the Mars retrograde from December 6th of 2024 until February 23rd 2025. And that includes, you know, mars going partway through Leo, so you know it's more complicated than just talking about Mars and Cancer.

Speaker 1:

So today I just wanted to establish some of the basics and give some fundamental advice about Mars and Cancer. So, before I go, though, be sure to check out my Substack newsletter for the horoscopes and predictions about the eclipse, other horoscopes, educational content and other astrological insights. So I do wish you a very cathartic and relieving Pisces partial lunar eclipse. I wish you the best of health and perspective and I wish you all the utmost success on this journey. So thank you so much for tuning into Astrology Unbound. My name is Evan Nathaniel Grimm and I will see you on the next episode. Take care.
