EP.01 - Revisiting Heavenly Creatures
Jun 08, 2024 Season 1 Episode 1
Anything Said Productions

Join Candice and Em as they revisit their review of the movie Heavenly Creatures. A film written and directed by Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) and starring famous actresses Kate Winslet (Titanic) and Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets) in their debut roles.

This film is based on a true crime based on New Zealand in the 1950's, of two girls who premeditated the murder of one girl's mother. They connected quickly based on their childhood illnesses, also aiding to them living their lives in a sort of fantasy.

The movie was the first for Anything Said Productions to review, and after a few years of maturing, film school, and life experience, the revisit was necessary because this film is a masterpiece and deserved the extra time and consideration.

Join writing partners, best friends, and married couple Candice and Em as they discuss the interesting findings of what it takes to make movies! They also share personal stories from the time of watching the movie and when the movie was released. Queer film is important to preserve and talk about regularly, so it is an honor to share this space with you.
