“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them” (John 17:20-26).

God bless you and may you have a great day!

Morning by Morning, August 20 - Ever-Abiding Presence of God

Good morning, Lord Jesus. You’re One with the Father, One with the Holy Spirit, and by the mystery of faith and mercy of Your grace, You desire to be One with me and every child of God and disciple of Christ (John 17:21). ...

Draw me closer to You, Lord--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of God. Even more, help me know just has near You already are, how near You always are. You’re with me “always” (Matthew 28:20), even within me always, as I abide in You and You abide in me (John 15:4), as I abide in You and Your words abide in me (John 15:7), as I abide in Your love for me and every one of the sons and daughters of God through the mercy of Your grace (John 15:9).

The truth is nothing can separate me from Your love, from Your Presence, abiding in me, as I abide in You. Grounded in Your Word, filled with Your Spirit, I embrace Your Truth:

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ...

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord!” (Romans 8:35-39)

Just give me faith to believe it and grace to receive it. Give me Your heavenly, high and holy perspective to know this is the truth and to live out every moment of my day--this day and every day--as if it were true, because it is! Make me consciously aware of it in the words I speak, in the things I do, embracing this truth of who I am in You and even more importantly, who You are in me. “Christ in (me), the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). “He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him” (1 Corinthians 6:17).

As I rise up from my place of prayer and go out into my day, I choose to receive and believe this truth of Your Ever-Abiding Presence in me and my never-changing position in You. And now--“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with (us) all” (2 Corinthians 13:14). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
