“He Will Say ‘Here I AM’” - September 12, 2024
“Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am’” (Isaiah 58:6-9).

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I speak out Your name over every area of my life and bring every area of my life under the authority of Your name (Philippians 2:9). ...
“Is this not the fast that I have chosen:

O Lord, I want to hear You say “Here I AM” when I cray out. I want to know that You see my needs, that You know my struggles, that You’re with me in my battles, that You are for me and with me, guiding me and empowering me into all You have for me and desire to do through me.
So give me a right heart. Develop in me a right character. Form right motives in my desires and right thinking in my mind. Give me Your perspective of who I am, of who You are in me, and the priorities You have for me as I now go about the moments of my day.
Crucify the selfishness of my flesh. Deliver me from evil and pull down the strongholds of pride and self-centeredness. Forgive me for wasting Your resources and the time You’ve entrusted to me during this small sliver of time You’ve entrusted to me on this side of Heaven in the ways that don’t align with Your will and Your ways. And thank You for the opportunities You’ve given me to be in the flow of Your Spirit and the center of Your will--as best as I can and all by Your grace.
As I seek to begin this day with You renewing a right spirit within me, let Your Light “break forth like the morning” and let Your glory be my “rear guard.” Let Your “righteousness” go before me because You’ve set things right within me by the power of Your grace and the mercy of Your love. In the power and authority of Your name, let bonds of wickedness be released, heavy burdens be lifted, crippling yokes be broken, healing spring forth speedily, and the oppressed be set free! All for Your glory! All in the way You have chosen! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
