Increasing Glory - Morning by Morning, September 16, 2024
“For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts’” (Haggai 2:6-9).

Morning by Morning, September 16 - Increasing Glory
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Take me by the heart and lead me by the spirit into all You have for me today--“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (Romans 8:14). ...
“For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts’” (Haggai 2:6-9).
There’s a peace that can only come through shaking. There’s greater things that can only come after we’ve been through the former things. And there’s a temple within our hearts that can only be filled with the glory of God for all who open the temple of their hearts to the One who is the Desire of All Nations. For our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, received from God, and we are no longer our own that we may “glorify God in (our) body and in (our) spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
The silver is Yours. The gold is Yours. Even all the nations are Yours. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to You (Matthew 28:18) and every knee must bow and every tongue confess that You are Lord to the glory of the Father (Philippians 2:10).
I am Yours and You are mine (Song of Solomon 6:3). And through whatever shakings may come, through whatever challenges I may face and overcome by the power of Your grace, let them be opportunities to keep turning my heart to Yours, emptied of myself that I can be filled with Your Spirit in the manifest Presence and Peace of Your glory that’s ever increasing “from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
