Have you ever felt stuck in an endless cycle of consuming self-help content without actually seeing any significant change in your life? I know I have. In today's episode, we tackle this very issue head-on and explore why true transformation requires more than just listening to podcasts or reading books. I share my own experiences of getting caught up in continuous learning without taking real action. We emphasize the importance of consistent, intentional steps—no matter how small they may be. From working out for just ten minutes to allowing yourself necessary rest, we discuss practical ways to break free from the self-help junkie trap and start making real progress.

Imagine the life you could lead by making and keeping small daily commitments. In this episode, we focus on the transformative power of these small, consistent actions. We'll talk about the real difference between seeking temporary satisfaction and being ready for long-term change. Self-awareness is key, and we'll explore how recognizing when you need to push yourself or take a step back can lead to substantial growth. If you struggle with consistency, I've got insights and an invitation to join our supportive community for that extra push. Let's take control of our lives step by step and commit to becoming our best selves. Your journey to genuine personal growth starts today!

Speaker 1:

I don't want this to be another podcast or my support in any way, to just be another thing that you listen to and you're like, wow, that was so good, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm going to do it, but then like it never actually changes anything.

Speaker 1:

It's so easy just to become a self-help junkie. It's so easy to rely on other people and things to be your motivator and your encourager, but then never do your part, never hold yourself accountable to actually choose different and be different the things that are actually going to bring about the change that you so desperately need and long for in your life. It's not going to happen by listening to another podcast or reading another book or joining another session. Those are all things that are support and tools to help you position yourself to make the choices that you need to change, to operate as the person that you need to operate as. And I just wanted to have a quick chat on this today because I've been in seasons of my life where I spent so much time scrolling on social media, listening to motivational videos, I spent so much time reading books that are designed to help you change your life and just getting support from people, but then not actually doing the work, and so these positive things that were that I was taking in while they were really good, it was actually supporting me in avoiding doing what I needed to do, because, instead of spending some of that time doing what I needed to do, I just spent more time getting more and more and more and more and more, and so I want you to keep listening to this podcast. I want to keep connecting. I want, if you're my client, to keep supporting you and having sessions and really be part of your transformation and yourself and your life. I don't want to do that, though, if you're not going to do your part, and so I say this with so much love and it's just the tough love that we've got to give ourselves every single day to say am I really doing my part? And it doesn't mean you have to make major, drastic changes. It doesn't mean you have to make major, drastic changes. It doesn't mean you have to have it all figured out. I think that's where people get stuck is they're trying to figure it out first and then take action. That's not how life works. You figure it out by taking action. You figure it out by showing up for yourself. You start to feel that inner strength that you need and that confidence and that clarity and peace by taking actions, and so I want you to keep listening. I want you to keep getting my support. I want you, more than that, though, more than anything, to look at your day and say what is the thing I need to do today that will help me be better tomorrow.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes that doesn't always mean doing a big thing. Sometimes that means, for those that are overachievers okay, I need to actually take rest. Maybe I need to spend some time not doing any self-helpy stuff and just really just spend some time with me. Or maybe you're the opposite and you're like okay, you know what? I've been saying, that I feel better when I work out. I've been avoiding working out. I'm gonna show up. So I encourage you show up, Even if it's just 10 minutes, just freaking.

Speaker 1:

Show up, because nothing's going to change in your life if you don't show up for your life, if you don't show up for yourself. And from the outside, looking in, it can look like we're showing up. Right, you're doing work, you're there for people, you're doing your self-care stuff that you do regularly, but when I say showing up, I mean, like, the things that you need to actually do different, to be different, because I say it all the time what got you here won't get you to where you want to be. No matter how positive some of the decisions have been that have gotten you here, there's going to be some things you need to change, or your perspective that needs to change. And when you show up for yourself in a real way, it's the greatest act of self-love, because you're showing up for yourself so you get to experience your best self. It's not in a way of you're not good enough, you're not doing enough, you need to do more. How did you get here? Your life's not where you want it to be.

Speaker 1:

All of those thoughts that's not what I mean when I say tough love. What I mean when I say tough love, it's action. It's action that's directly tied to what you hope for. If you want to feel more energy and lose weight and you know you feel at your best when you work out then tough love, self-care, self-love all of that is tied to then showing up for yourself in that way. Go work out, go do something. If you're too busy and don't have a lot of time, wake up a little earlier or go to bed a little later or just do it for 10 minutes if you can't do a whole hour, right, like, just show up in some sort of way for yourself. In that way, if you're someone where you're feeling burnout from work and your relationships and you're tired and you're working out and you're doing all the things but you're not feeling great, maybe you need to prioritize some rest, right, and this is where coaching can really help bring in that awareness and taking in good stuff like podcasts and stuff can really help. So they're great tools.

Speaker 1:

But I hope you get what I'm saying and that's it's in the daily, seemingly small decisions and actions that we take that actually bring out the biggest change and transformation in our lives. It's not the big things, it's not constantly taking in new information, it's showing ourselves. I'm going to show up for me. I'm going to show up for you, regardless of the day, regardless of the demands. This is my promise to you and I'm going to do it every day. So make a commitment to yourself, make a promise and then make sure you keep it.

Speaker 1:

And if you can't do it for a big chunk like an hour and you can't carve out more time and you really can't do it for five or 10 minutes, but I just I want to chat on this just because I see a lot of people I experience a lot of people, honestly who even reach out to me for coaching, and when I decide to take someone on a client as a client, it's because I see that they actually want change and there's a willingness and readiness there to make those tough love decisions and those hard choices, instead of just having small like temporary satisfaction, like they're ready for to be different, so they can have different and experience different.

Speaker 1:

They're at that tipping point and I want that for everyone honestly, and so we've got to be.

Speaker 1:

We've got to be honest with where we are and where we need to push ourselves and motivate ourselves more, and then where we need to rest and pull back more.

Speaker 1:

And so if you feel like you're someone who's ready but you are just having a hard time showing up or you're having a hard time making change or being different, definitely reach out to me. I'd love to to see if we'd be a good fit to do some coaching or to join our inner bee community or both, um, and if you're someone where you're like you know what, yeah, like you're kind of calling yourself out on your own BS and you're like I'm really not ready for change and I do feel unhappy and everything, but I'm not really ready. Just be self-aware that it's like the only thing that's going to make you ready is by starting to take action towards what you really want and what you really hope for, because your best self, your best life is possible. Everything you want is still possible for you, and the only way you're going to see that and believe that and know that is to focus on what's within your control and that doesn't involve anyone or anything other than these small daily actions that you're taking to live on you.
