Speaker 1:

This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Sophia Yvette.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Are you in need of a health insurance agent? Surprisingly, one may be closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to your neighbor, Julie Sears, with Integrity Health Insurance Advisors. Julie, how are you doing today? Great, how are you? I'm great. We're excited to learn all about you and your business. Can you tell us a little bit about Integrity Health Insurance Advisors?

Speaker 3:

Absolutely so. I have been a licensed agent for about seven years now. We had a need in our own household to search for individual coverage because it just didn't make sense for us to be all on one group plan. The option that we had at the time was just not economical. So in that search I decided to make an entire career change and go into health insurance so that I could help other people navigate the space, because it's become so confusing and it's just a huge passion of mine to help people, and so that's what I do every day is just helping other business owners and families just navigate the insurance space the way it has now become a little little hectic of a maze and just find the right option, the right fit for them and hopefully save them as much money as possible in the uh, in that in between space too and so what are some of the most common myths or misconceptions in your industry?

Speaker 3:

um, most common are that everybody needs a matching insurance card. So unfortunately, doctors don't care enough. They just want to know that you're covered. And so if it makes sense to split the family up even though you know as a mom, sometimes it gets a little bit more work on us, you know, but it's really not that hard of a process so if it makes sense to split the family up to save more money, then that's what I want to help somebody walk through and decide whether it does make more sense as our kids are getting older. They're going to school, can't enroll on that if they are not low income. It is available to anybody. It's just a matter of shopping to make sure that the right fit for your certain circumstances. So that's where I come in and help navigate, because just in you know a Frisco zip code, there could be over 120 options for one family and that's very overwhelming to search for. You know the right fit when you're just trying to make that decision and make it appropriately, and then you can't change once you're locked in.

Speaker 2:

So Okay, and outside of work, what do you do for fun? Okay, and outside of work.

Speaker 3:

what do you do for fun? We like to travel, so we are empty nesters. We have two dogs so they keep us busy when we are home, but otherwise we like to travel and go explore new places or even visit places that we've seen before. That we just love and are cozy and hang out with our friends and family really as a frequent traveler.

Speaker 2:

You have any favorite destination spots.

Speaker 3:

We love Colorado, which is more so right now than anything because you know it's not so hot but we like to ski and Colorado has some really cute quaint ski towns, so we like to visit at least once a year.

Speaker 2:

Okay, well, we've talked about a lot of the positives, but, as we all know, life is not always sunshine and rainbows. Can you describe one hardship or life challenge? You rose above and can now say because of it, you are better and stronger. When I say that, what comes to mind for you?

Speaker 3:

I guess I mean I've been out on my own since I was 16. So didn't have the best relationship with my family growing up and luckily most of those fences have been mended since then. But it did kind of put me in a position where, although I didn't use it back then, I did. I mean I'd always been raised having coverage so I knew I had to get health insurance. I knew I had to, you know, insure my vehicle and all of those things, even though I was on my own.

Speaker 3:

So I guess it kind of gave me a little head start into health insurance and knowing the ins and outs of it, because it was a pretty easy transition by the time I discovered it seven years ago as a career choice, because you know I had years as a single mom and I had I have a clumsy kid. I had to know what, what, what was covered, what wasn't covered, make sure that I was going to be, you know, had him adequately covered and me adequately prepared for that financial burden. In the event something happened, he made it 21 years without an emergency room visit, so he did not streak alive. But you know it's just been a matter of I guess I took that and I just always had to know the ins and outs of all of those you know grown up things, and I guess it did ultimately set up a foundation for me to be successful doing what I'm doing now.

Speaker 2:

Julie, please tell our listeners one thing, if only one they should remember about Integrity Health Insurance Advisors.

Speaker 3:

I am not here for just the sale. I want people to have the appropriate coverage. Make sure that if we need to review it annually or every three months, whatever we've got to do, I'm always here for my clients and making sure that if they need help filing a claim, if they just need help understanding what an explanation of benefits, says or what it's.

Speaker 3:

You know what their responsibility is. I'm always here to help them and because I do work with so many local, you know small business owners I you know also try to advertise for them and make sure know people are going towards my clients, if uh at all possible, and help follow small business owners in the area continue to grow and thrive, and so we can all just kind of keep going and be productive and how can our listeners learn more about Integrity Health Insurance Advisors?

Speaker 3:

They can go to my website at integrityhealthinsuranceadvisorscom. Or. I am crazy and I work by my cell phone and everyone, and their dog has my number, so my cell phone is probably the easiest way at 469-348-4066. But either way is easy. There's a chat button on my website. There's a contact form that they can fill out and message me. I'm pretty easy to reach.

Speaker 2:

Well, julie, I really appreciate you being on the show. We wish you and your business the best moving forward.
