How do you juggle single motherhood, a busy back-to-school season, and a daily podcast without losing your mind? Today, I get real about the beautiful chaos that is my life right now. From the early school start dates and the frantic search for affordable uniforms to managing my kids' hectic schedules filled with football, cheerleading, and volleyball, it's been a rollercoaster. I open up about the struggles and realities that come with being a single mom and the additional pressure of creating daily content for you all.

To stay ahead of the game, I’m switching up my content creation process. Instead of recording, editing, and uploading all in one day, I’ve started pre-recording episodes to give myself some breathing room. My ADHD makes consistency a challenge, but journaling and creating outlines are steps I'm taking to keep myself accountable. This episode is a deep dive into my journey of balancing motherhood, personal challenges, and my commitment to providing you with daily podcasts. Tune in for some heartfelt sharing and tips on managing life’s whirlwind.

Speaker 1:

Hello everyone and welcome back to Life Be Lifin' with your host, me, alyssa B. Assalamualaikum everyone. So I know y'all are like girl, where you been at because I would be it's been like eight maybe, maybe eight days. I think it's about eight days. I'm not looking at a calendar, to be honest, y'all, so I don't really know if it's been eight or nine days, but either way I know it's been at least seven to eight days between my last podcast and I. I'm sorry about that, y'all.

Speaker 1:

Life be lifin'. And last week was the last week of summer for my children, because they go to a different school than the regular public school district here and so they started earlier and so they started Monday of this week and so I've just been busy prepping for them last week to start school Monday. So it's just been a lot between back to school shopping and uniforms, and so they do wear uniforms to school for their school. And my daughter now has moved into middle school and so she wears a different color uniform than her brother does and so trying to find her uniform, and then she has to wear a tie too, so trying to find this tie and this shirt and pants on like the cheap end, because y'all already know I'm a single mom. Know I'm a single mom Okay, one income over here and so I got to shop on good quality but cost efficient as well, and so it was just really hard to find uniforms and ties, and so it's been a stressful week trying to get that together for them. So that just kept me busy, which didn't allow me the opportunity to record content for you guys. So I'm sorry this is me starting this process of recording content and I know I have to hold myself accountable for this, and I'm going to right now, because you know I'm all about being real with yourself and being real period. So I'm going to hold myself accountable for this.

Speaker 1:

I do not record content prior to uploading, if that makes sense. I record, edit and upload all in one day. I do that every time I upload content. It's usually being recorded that day and uploaded that day that you're seeing it posted there. So I need to do better with actually recording content for future uploads. You know what I'm saying Because I'm really bad at that. I'm really one of those like, hey, I'm just going to record today, I'm going to listen to it a couple times, I'm going to edit it, I like it, I'm uploading it. That's me, that's the type of content creator I am, and it works for those who have the schedule that they could do that every single day.

Speaker 1:

I, unfortunately, as a single mom of two, do not have that schedule, and now the kids' activities are starting back up football, cheerleading, volleyball for my daughter, you know like these things are starting back up and it's just going to impact my entire schedule. It's going to keep me super, duper busy, and so, yeah, I just have to like, slow this process down and start recording content for the future. So that's what I'm going to start doing. I am still going to record daily, though, because I do want to give you guys a daily podcast, like I had mentioned in my introduction. I was going to do so.

Speaker 1:

I do want to still do that, and so I'm proud of myself, guys, because, uh, y'all know I keep a journal. If you guys have watched my TikToks or my YouTube videos that I've uploaded previously to starting the content or the podcast, I mean, you guys see, I'm a journaler and so I keep what they call an everyday boho journal, and, yeah, I'm really proud of myself because I actually wrote out content, guys, like not script or anything but like an outline for you guys so that I can hold myself accountable and make sure that I'm getting these things recorded. I put a due date on them and a deadline, like thing to hold myself accountable and consistent with this. So I'm really really proud of myself. I'm really proud of myself for that because, y'all, I have a really hard time staying consistent with anything, to be honest. I don't it's a character flaw and I'm working on it Okay, but I really do have a hard time staying consistent with things, especially because I have ADHD, so it does not. I get distracted real easily and if it doesn't hold my attention, I can't keep the consistency. And that's crazy, because this podcast and my content creating does hold my attention. I just don't make it a priority, let me put it that way. And so now I need to hold myself accountable and be consistent and make it a priority, which I am. So here I am, guys. Yay, go me.

Speaker 1:

And so, anyways, I just wanted to come on here and tell you guys that, and so I'm also including in every one of the descriptions for every podcast that I upload or episode excuse me that I upload. From today on, we'll have in the description, a send me a text link. Use that, guys. If you have any comments, thoughts, concerns, use that link. It sends me a message which allows me to either respond to the message, but I think what I'm going to do instead is to make you guys feel like you're a part of this community and this process which you are because that's essentially what I'm doing this for is you guys, and so your feedback and your information that you guys send me. That helps me be able to make more content for you guys. So I'm opening this up to you to make our community larger.

Speaker 1:

If you have anything you want to say comments, thoughts, concerns, whatever go ahead and click that link and send me the message and then I will, instead of responding to it like another message response to it, I'm going to upload a podcast response, an episode response to it, just discussing it, and then I'm going to also start bringing in some visitors and some guests as well, so you guys will get to meet some of my friends and things like that, and people that I interact with on a daily basis, who help mold me into the woman I am or the woman I want to be, so on and so forth. So until next time, guys. Assalamu alaikum, remember, if you're going to be anything, be authentically real. Until next time, this has been Life. Be Lifin' with your host, me, alyssa B.
