What if mainstream media and major search engines are shaping our perceptions more than we realize? Today, we dissect the media's narrative surrounding the recent attempted assassination of President Trump and uncover how these stories are often distorted. We focus particularly on young voters who rely heavily on social media for their news, urging the necessity of personal research over accepting spoon-fed narratives. Unearthing biases in Google's search results, we discuss how Joe Biden's campaign website takes the spotlight while Donald Trump's site is conspicuously absent, raising critical questions about fair information access.

Our exploration doesn't stop there. We scrutinize the visibility of presidential campaign websites on Google and DuckDuckGo, questioning potential biases or financial motivations behind these discrepancies. By drawing comparisons with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s website, we highlight inconsistencies that point towards a broader issue with information presentation. The frustration many feel about biased portrayals in the media, especially against conservative viewpoints, is palpable. We emphasize the essential need for truth and transparency in journalism, advocating for independent research and fair media practices. Join us in this eye-opening discussion and share your feedback for future episodes—your voice matters.

Speaker 1:

Hey everyone, welcome back to another podcast episode of our very new series A Bunch of Donkeys. I am Jonathan and I look forward to sharing today's episode with you. You know, over the past couple of years I have been so fed up of what I have seen in the mainstream media. I have been fed up of what these politicians are feeding us and I am tired of America looking like a sitcom. So the reason of these podcast series is to put these people on blast. We need to call it how we see it. We need to get it out to the American people, the truth.

Speaker 1:

So it has been exactly one week today as I am recording this of the attempted assassination of President Trump. Obviously, you know there's been so much in the last week of what's come out. You know different theories, different things and you know I'm still a little jaded. I'm a little jaded by what the mainstream media immediately put out. You know, after the attempted assassination, If you look at some of these articles, it says you know, secret Service picks up Trump after he falls. I think there was one that said something like loud noises heard. You know, we heard one of the news anchors and I'm not going to say it because I don't know exactly which one it was, but essentially, in the background, talking that you know, the audience perceives that they're under threat and they didn't want to acknowledge some sort of shooting, even though their correspondents were in the crowd experiencing this firsthand, and that's how they were getting that knowledge. Absolutely crazy, and they're acting like a bunch of scoundrels. So super tired of it, super tired of the mainstream media.

Speaker 1:

I think that this gets passed down to young, impressionable voters. It gets passed down to just, I mean just every single American. But right now, you know, specifically for young voters, all they know is social media. And so we have, you know, obviously, fake news and fake things going out on social media, and I think this is really crafting the way that you know. Obviously, mainstream media sets the narrative and they're telling us who to vote for. So we really need to challenge ourselves. When you're voting for that candidate, are you really voting for that candidate? Are you voting on what they have told you about that candidate and have you done your research or have you just paid attention to one news article or organization? So anyways, with that being said, it's definitely questioned the mainstream media On today's episode.

Speaker 1:

This is not going to be a donkey of the day. I don't know what I'm going to dub these particular series where we are going to give a nice prestigious award maybe to some corporate entity or some news organization for misleading the American people. Yeah, so I've got a, you know, a pretty big one I want to talk about. Everybody is familiar with it, you know, I think, on a daily basis. There are over 6 billion searches on a daily basis on this platform and obviously a lot of people go to this platform to get answers about, you know, obviously, current events or research on things, and it has, obviously has some trust. I trust it, I love it, but very interested to dive into this episode.

Speaker 1:

So, with that being said and without further ado, the search engine service is Google. Google, I think, is painting some sort of narrative or something here. I don't really know what's going on. I was searching around on X and I saw somebody post a. What are we calling them? Are we calling them tweets? Still, I don't know, but I saw them post a tweet talking about Google.

Speaker 1:

Talking about, if you go to Google and you type in Joe Biden presidential candidate, or you type in Donald Trump presidential candidate, that Biden's page, his page that says he's running for president. Essentially his website shows up. But if you type in Donald Trump the exact same thing presidential candidate his website does not come up. Now I thought I would research that. I thought I'd go on and plug it in. Now this was you know, it's Google. There's absolutely no way you know they're leading you know the crowds or Americans away from Donald Trump or whatever it may be getting that research out. So, anyways, dived into it. Of course, the first thing I typed in was Joe Biden, presidential candidate. We see some sort of Joe Biden here, obviously some headshots, maybe tied in with his Wikipedia says his age. You scroll down. It says news about Democrats. So obviously some Democrat news in here, with some different articles, and then obviously a little snippet on the right of maybe a little Wikipedia page or some Google page. So you keep scrolling down. You have Joe Biden for president. It is the number one website that comes up on Google and you can clearly see. I click it through and absolutely it is JoeBidencom. It is his website.

Speaker 1:

So let's move on over to Donald Trump, presidential candidate. Now this is the exact same thing I typed in for Joe Biden, for Donald Trump presidential candidate. We have an ad. That is number one. Donald Trump has had to put an ad up top and you will see as we scroll down. So, donald Trump, we have a little snippet. He is the 45th president of the United States. It goes down to some top stories. So we don't have Republican stories, it just says top stories. And then to the right we have a little bit of another about section. Kind of looks like a little Wikipedia.

Speaker 1:

Here we go. This is the first website where Joe Biden would be, so it's not Donald Trump. Second one not Donald Trump. Third one is not Donald Trump's website. Oh, we have a couple. People will ask us let's keep going down. And what were we on? Third, fourth no, we don't have Donald Trump's website. Fifth, we don't have Donald Trump's website. Six, we don't have Donald Trump's website. 7, 8, 9, 10, and I am at the bottom of the page, the first page, and we do not have President Trump or, excuse me, donald Trump's presidential candidate. We do not have his webpage on here.

Speaker 1:

What's going on Google? Obviously, I would assume Donald Trump is aware of this or his campaign is aware of this because, like I mentioned, they have had to put a ad in the number one spot. They have bumped that up, so you obviously click that. Now, if this is no secret, google makes a ton of money with ad revenue. So is this Google? What are you doing? Are you doing two things One, are you misleading Americans by not showing them Donald Trump as a presidential candidate and directing them to his website on, obviously, what he's running for his platform, all of that stuff, fundraising? Or, number two, are you ranking him so far down below that you are trying to make money off of obviously Donald Trump running ads so he spends money with you. What are you doing? Misleading Donald Trump or making ad revenue?

Speaker 1:

So I thought I'd dive in and I thought I would go to Robert Kennedy presidential candidate Same thing, just like Joe Biden and Donald Trump. I typed in Robert F Kennedy. I'm sorry, I'm just looking for one thing here, and number one there's no pictures of him, so we're not seeing the news. We're not seeing pictures, but we are seeing just number one the official RFK Jr website. It looks like that is kennedy24.com, and then there's another kennedy24.com and then a Wikipedia page. So Robert Kennedy's page is coming up as well, number one on Google, no ads being run there, but they were able to rank Robert Kennedy's website. So you know what I'm going to give Google the benefit of the doubt.

Speaker 1:

I went ahead and ran it in the background to see if his site was indexed with Google, to see if his site was indexed with Google. Maybe Donald Trump's team dropped the ball so horribly that they didn't get the website indexed with Google. Well, surprise, surprise, I have run the indexed report and Donald Trump's yeah, he's absolutely indexed and we probably have over 60 pages indexed. So what's going on, google? What are you doing? Are you lying to the American people and trying to hold political information? Are you trying to sway the election? Or are you trying to make ad revenue off of Donald Trump's campaign? Because you're just burying him at the bottom of the whatever page. I don't even know what page he's on.

Speaker 1:

So now, what's interesting is and I didn't check it on this computer, I checked it on my other computer, where I have it, but on this computer I do not have DuckDuckGo, but I did try my luck with DuckDuckGo as well, and on DuckDuckGo, donald Trump still did not show up and Joe Biden did show up. So what are we seeing here? Oh, excuse me, and I did see an ad pop up on DuckDuckGo. So are these media companies? What do we call these people, these huge search engine companies, these multi-billion dollar businesses? Are they trying to sway the American people's voting here in November by not giving them all information? Remember, if you have conservative views, we already know that there are a ton of left-leaning news organizations. We already know that right.

Speaker 1:

So when you type in Donald Trump presidential candidate, let's just say I skip over the ad and let's just say I'm tired, I've voted Democrat the last couple of elections. I'm thinking you know what? Donald Trump, I would like to vote for him and I'd like to get some more research. I would like to do my research on who Donald Trump is. So maybe somebody comes into Google and they type Donald Trump presidential candidate and now they're doing their research. I mean, the first website that comes up is NBC News. Come on, are they going to give an accurate report of who Donald Trump is? No, ok. You know what? Let's scroll down the New York Times. That is now another one. Are they going to give an accurate understanding of who Donald Trump is? Absolutely not OK.

Speaker 1:

Then we have the FECgov. So that's just a candidate overview. We're probably not going to find anything there, but let's move on from there. And of course, we have CNN, these trolls that obviously are left-leaning.

Speaker 1:

So if I was kind of an undecided voter and I was doing my research about Donald Trump's campaign, I wanted to see his website and let's just say I didn't know how to navigate too well. I mean, I'm trying to think my mom's on Google, right, my mom doesn't, you know, she'll click a link and think that's exactly where she needed to be. Now she's going to read stuff that obviously CNN and all of these people in the New York Times they want you to see. So this is not fair, google. You need to clean up your act. This is not fair to the American people.

Speaker 1:

Guys, I encourage you wake up. Wake up, start asking questions about the narrative that they are putting out, like last Saturday when the Secret Service had to help Trump up after a fall. Come on, are you kidding me? We all know what happened, but that is the narrative that you immediately put out. That is the narrative that these media companies are letting people kind of believe and they're kind of taking our voices or taking our freedom in searching and freedom of speech and they're mangling it right. So freedom of speech is there. These news organizations can say what they want to say. Great People can go on and, I guess, say what they need to say, like I'm doing right now but where's the follow through? We need accountability.

Speaker 1:

So I hope this episode did a great job at explaining that even Google can't be trusted at this point. So again, don't have a fancy award to give this. I don't want to dub this donkey of the day that it is not. But Google, clean up your act. Are you trying to make the money off of Donald Trump, or are you trying to sway the election by not showing what people are searching for? You know better. You've been doing this for years. So many businesses rely on Google and so many people rely on Google. You need to do better for America Everyone. Thank you for joining me for this podcast. Please remember these are newer episodes.

Speaker 1:

I am not a professional podcaster, so bear with me as I get my bearing, but I definitely want to get out real information to you that has been fact-checked and just kind of be a reliable source of information. Now I will be transparent. I am a conservative in California. That is that I will not claim to be unbiased. I will attempt to be unbiased. I obviously want to kind of rail everybody right that is acting a fool in our government. That is the point of this series.

Speaker 1:

But I really feel that with different news organizations and, you know, obviously, different media outlets and things like that, it has always swayed where the conservatives are looking like a fool. I'm tired of looking like a fool. I just want the truth out there for American people. And if you choose to vote Democrat, great, and if you choose to vote Republican, great, I don't care, but I would hope that this could bring us together and you can see that obviously something is wrong and you need to do your research. So again, everyone, thank you. I appreciate you listening. Please drop me a comment if you found this helpful. If you'd like me to look into anything, I definitely will look into it and would love to address it on another podcast. Really appreciate you listening and I'll catch you on the next one. Thank you.
