Hey, what's going on everyone? Welcome back to another episode of Just a Bunch of Donkeys podcast. Super excited that you're here. I'm Jonathan. I want to thank you for tuning in. This is pretty cool, guys. I am super excited to share this episode with you. I'm excited to say thank you. Thank you to some new listeners and subscribers on some of the channels. Didn't think that I was going to get some traction and I'm definitely getting some traction and it's pretty cool.

I am just an American that is tired of the lies that are being fed to us. I'm tired of the divide in our country and I'm tired of politicians lying to us. So this show is meant to call out the politicians that are lying to us, call out the mainstream media that is lying to us, and give you just real information and talk about current events. So first I want to say thank you. Yesterday I listed out some cities as I saw some listeners came in. Obviously, the episode yesterday went out and now I'm going to have to just say shouts out to some states. Okay, arizona, thank you, new York, florida, kentucky, again Texas and again my home state of California. So thank you for listening out our show. Really appreciate it.

So a couple things going on in the news I want to go over before we jump into our episode of what is DEI? What's going on with it? Some people don't understand it. I was talking to a colleague of mine and he couldn't quite digest it. He saw that it was out a lot. Both sides of the aisle are using this DEI. So what is it? And I thought it would be a good episode to just go over it and talk about it. But a couple things in the news. Right now. Fbi is warning of four terror threat Moscow. Obviously, with their attacks, they're on high alert.

Speaker 1:

But, guys, we have weak leadership in America right now. We've talked about this on the podcast, we've talked about it on episodes and this is a scary time. We have people coming into the country. Those people are some are hardworking, needing to get into the country. I would encourage to do it legally. But we have people coming in here that are up to no good. The people that are up to no good that's my concern with at the border, guys. I know, while we have the freedom to go out and grab something to eat, talk to some friends, hang out at a barbecue, whatever we're doing, that is the freedom that we have. I have the freedom to come to you and talk to you on this podcast. Other countries want death to America. We need to not forget that. While we are very blessed to be in where we are right now and of course we have our divides let's not remember that there are people that want death upon us, and that is scary. And, with weak leadership, what a perfect opportunity for somebody to come onto our soil and attack us. God forbid. So, anyways, let's remember that.

Speaker 1:

Second, we're seeing the FBI talking to Congress today. I mean a lot coming out of that, you know of that, but a couple of things that stood out. Gentleman was able to the shooter. If I should, let me reverse, let me take back gentlemen this deranged boy was able to get a drone up. That's pretty crazy. I had heard that before. We're obviously hearing different things from the FBI right now. Three bombs were found. Pretty crazy that maybe the assassination wasn't the only thing he was going to be up to. Thank goodness that, you know, nobody else got hurt. You know in a massive you know capacity, but, you know, definitely thinking about the people that did get hurt and, unfortunately, the gentleman that died. So, yeah, pretty interesting. Check that out, check the timeline out that they're kind of releasing. I encourage you to watch that.

And then yesterday, you know, pretty interesting, I think it was yesterday or I think yesterday I saw it, but it was the day before when. Let's see, let me look it up. Ok, so two days ago, july 22nd, yesterday, I saw it, let me look it up says she's going to work hard to get the nomination, and then Harris makes calls to party delegates. The next day she essentially gets the nomination, and so this kind of this tweet, if you will, pretty much calls on the DNC to create a process that allows public participation in this nomination process, not just a nomination by party delegates, and I agree with this. I've talked about this on the other episodes. I think that Joe Biden you know he locked a lot of legitimate candidates out to represent the Democrats and now they're put in this situation where and us as Americans are put in this situation where Harris does not have one voter that has voted to put her on for the presidential election, and I think that's wrong. So we do need some sort of public participation, dnc, I really hope that you do that, because it's the right thing. At this point. We're in uncharted territories right now, right, ok, so moving on, we've got that.

Speaker 1:

Today we're going to talk about DEI. What's up with it, what it is, is it good, is it bad? You're going to just kind of hear my side of it. I think what's important, guys, is I want to talk about I'm in California. I'm here in California, right, I'm a conservative in California and it's hard, but I'm in California. A lot of these policies affect my life, affect my the things I do, and so I think it's important, especially as we have Harris kind of come up on the national stage and she's running for president.

Speaker 1:

I think that we need to peel back. You know, hey, remember where she came from on these policies and the things that she's used to and has crafted in the past, and you know really what her party, I would think, is going to put forward as their agenda and yeah, so I think it's important we go over that. So, dei, let me go over exactly. This is the. I'm going to look it up on the Google so you don't have to look it up. This is the Google snippet that puts it up of what is a DEI hire. Now I would like to mention I think I mentioned at the beginning of the episode. I was talking to a colleague of mine and he really didn't understand this. He hears it every single day, back and forth, both sides, but didn't really understand it. So I did explain it to him what it is, but I think that this episode let's go over, let's break it down. So this is the snippet off of Google.

Speaker 1:

So a DEI hire refers to an individual who is hired through a process that emphasizes diversity, equity and inclusion principles. This process ensures that all candidates, regardless of their background, have an equal opportunity to complete their job. I absolutely agree with that snippet. But let me add in America, regardless of your gender, race, religion, you should be able to get a job if you are qualified for that job 100%, 100%. And so I'm seeing people from the left are calling out people on the right, people on the right are saying, hey, this person was a DEI hire, and now the left is saying, well, the way that you're referring to that is racist.

Speaker 1:

It really sucks when I think race gets brought into this. I think that me just a quick back story. Obviously you can tell I'm white. I grew up in a community that is a major population of Hispanics, and so I was definitely able at an early age to learn Hispanic culture, embracing most of it in my life now, and one of my very first childhood friends, and we grew up together until our adult life, unfortunately until he passed away, but he was a black kid. So you got this white kid that grew up with you know a black family essentially, and yeah, so I like to take race out of the equation, but I do hate being labeled when we refer to white people that, oh, because you have an opinion on this, you're racist. I think that that sucks. I think that if you're hearing, if you side with Trump, you're a racist. If you use this DEI as a negative term, then you're a racist. We're keeping racism alive by doing that. So let's move on. I hate that. Let's not talk about that right now. I think that gets off of it, but just want to make it a point that I'm not just a white boy sitting behind a table, that I've got a diverse background as well. So moving forward, yes, I think that anybody in America that has qualifications to do a job should absolutely be hired to do that job.

Speaker 1:

So, in California, guys, it's pretty interesting and I'm going to bring these things up. I have them saved. So, a couple of years ago 2020, a bill was passed in California AB 979. Look it up, california, ab 979. And essentially in California, it required California corporations that any California-based or headquartered public companies had to appoint a minimum of individuals from unrepresented groups. Now, let me see if I still have this up up. Okay, so in a nutshell, guys, essentially this law that was put into place, public companies headquartered in California had to have, essentially, some diversity on their board. It was their board of directors that was required. Now, again, I don't. Okay, I did pull up the bill. Bear with me for a second here because I think it's important. You guys kind of understand this. So, a lot on the bill, but I'm going to point out something. Essentially, if the number of board of directors were six or more, the corporation shall have a minimum of three female directors.

Speaker 1:

Scrolling down, there's a ton of language in here. It also then states that there is kind of the unrepresented groups, unrepresented groups being broke down into and again, there's a lot of directors from an unrepresented community means an individual who identifies as black, african-american, hispanic, latino, asian Pacific Islander, native American, native Hawaiian, alaska, alaska native, or somebody as describes themselves as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. So this is what the underrepresented community means and if I said that wrong before, underrepresented community are essentially these races and then bringing in your sexuality. So this is where it came into California law in 2020. And again, guys, I bring this up because this is the home state of where Harris came from. This is the home state where we're seeing Newsom kind of pop up on the stage. Newsom is our governor.

Speaker 1:

This is the stuff that and I'll get into another gentleman that is one of the senators this is setting the stage for America and I think we need to understand that this is really not OK. I came out and said, hey, I've got a board of directors and I'm only going to appoint white people. Then that would absolutely cause a huge ruckus in America. So now coming out and saying, look, 50 percent of your board needs to be females or they need to be this. You know this unrepresented community with, you know, race and now sexuality mixed in, how are we not throwing a fit on this and we're putting it into law to force people's hands? Now I get where people are coming from.

Speaker 1:

I think I saw something where most board of directors, like 80% of them are males, white males. Is that OK, do they? I mean, they have the qualifications right. I mean, are they being appointed by just for being white? I'd like to say that I did kind of read an unofficial study and I don't have it up. I don't, I'm going to speak very vaguely on it.

Speaker 1:

There was a gentleman that went out and applied for a hundred jobs and on the hundred jobs he applied for, on the first set, he said he was a white male or, excuse me, a male. And then on the second set, he just applied and said he was a female. And so we had this female applicant version and this male applicant version. Well, the open rate Open rate and returned emails to set up an interview was 650% higher being a female than a male. So I do think that, just in general, people are naturally wanting qualified individuals and females are getting picked over males right now. So we have this law that was set in place to say, hey, you have to do this. I mean that's crazy, that is absolutely crazy. I understand and I can't emphasize I understand. We're in America, we want diversity, but when you rule out a law and say that you have to do it well. How diverse are you being and how many people are you locking out of an opportunity that are well qualified for that position? Moving on 2023,.

Speaker 1:

It was kicked out of California law. Essentially, the law was reversed. Somebody sued him I'm going to be vague on this because this is a huge article in its own but it was essentially, at the end of the day, ruled unconstitutional by California. Now, guys, california super liberal OK, they're always there, they're pushing these different agendas through, but even in our liberal state of California, they came back and ruled it as unconstitutional. They said this is not okay. So, essentially, dei this diverse hiring initiative was kicked back. When you make it a law was kicked back and said no, no, that is unconstitutional to do, unconstitutional to do so. That's pretty interesting.

Speaker 1:

When they were reversing that, we have Mr Alex Padilla I think that's how you say his name. I've got a buddy that has the same last name, so I'm going to go with that's how you say it, but I know it can be pronounced differently. But Mr Alex Padilla was California's Secretary of State and so he was kind of stamped on that bill. He was all over it. So when people sued California, he was the one on that kind of that reverse role. Important about him.

Speaker 1:

Guys, this is where they're sneaking into the federal system. This is where now the policies are getting changed through America, sneaking into the federal system. This is where now the policies are getting changed through America. So he actually stepped in when Harris was nominated for the vice president. He was appointed by our governor and we all know Senate senator positions are hard to come by in California. It's pretty much locked in right here. These people hold on to power. So long shouts out to people that want time limits let's go, get these people off. Let's move forward. But this guy was appointed as her successor and, yeah, this is where he's used to the policies California is putting forth. This is the stuff and in his agenda he wants to see. This is the stuff I'm sure they're talking about in Washington. Of course, now we have an election and he wins and now he's a senator and, who knows, he'll probably be there for the next 80 years. It's crazy. It's crazy Time limits, let's go.

Speaker 1:

So, anyways, these people from California creeping into the federal system, I think people in Texas, florida, I'm really just saying more red states Guys, this is, this is kind of scary, right these are. These are very liberal policies that I think you know. I do think, as America, we need to be diverse. We need both sides for sure, but again, it's crazy when people are pulling the strings. Right, I'm going to appoint you to do this. You believed in this and now you're here and the policies moving forward are going to be this. So, yeah, he's in a United States Senate right now. So I don't know. I mean, I think that we really need to be careful coming forward in this new election. When you're looking at Harris, you know she hasn't mentioned any VP positions.

Speaker 1:

I've already come on here and talked about Newsom. Newsom would be a nightmare for America. I am hoping that he is never on a ballot just because of the things, and again, I'll make follow up episodes on Newsom. But this is my home state of California where these, these guys have created this policy and I'm sure guys I'm not going to conspiracy over here of like, hey, there's some deeper meaning.

Speaker 1:

Do we want to see diversity throughout America? Absolutely, america is built on immigrants. We're a hardworking country. If you come here and you roll your sleeves up, can you make something of yourself? Absolutely, and we've seen that. Our ancestors that have been here, everybody like that is what the core of America is and that's what I want a diverse America. But I don't want somebody to get it because of their skin color, their sexual identity, their age. I just I don't want to see if their gender excuse me, let me add that in I don't want to see that. I want to see you are qualified to do the position. Now, I know that. You know Barack Obama made history. History and that was monumental history and I witnessed that as a younger guy growing up, just kind of getting into the world now, paying attention, that was monumental and that is that should speak volume about where we are in America. And do I want to see a female president? Absolutely. Do I want to see a female of color president? Absolutely. Do I want to see a female of right? Should it be made into law? No, absolutely not.

Speaker 1:

I think that, as you're working in your business or your company, corporation that you work for, whatever it is, demands change, right? If you want to see change, you have to demand the change, you have to want the change, you have to, you know, kind of facilitate it, right? I think putting it in law is not the way to do it. It's not the way we go about it. I don't know. As far as law, I don't think it's good. Would we like to see it nationwide? No, I think it's good. Would we like to see it nationwide? No, I think it would be a disaster. I think I mean I'm going to agree with California it's unconstitutional. I don't think that. Talk about that on this one.

Speaker 1:

But I think where we see it being used negatively is look at the attempted assassination attempt with Trump and look at the females that are there protecting the president and obviously maybe some of them are overwhelmed or don't have the experience there. Was that more of a mess up of the DEI hire? When you've got the Secret Service saying, hey, you know, by 2030, we want 30% of the Secret Service to be female. Yeah, I think that that is where that goes wrong. That's where you know. Now people are upset over it.

Speaker 1:

But what I'm concerned about I mean people have gone on to this one particular agent that it looks like she's kind of ducking behind the president probably a bad angle. I'm going to sum it up on that. She was probably in motion to do something, but later she's struggling to put this gunner holster. I'm not mad at her. I'm mad at the people that are saying, hey, we need this policy and we're solely hiring them on this basis and they're not capable of doing the job. And now she is under kind of the public eye, getting scrutinized online. She doesn't deserve that.

Speaker 1:

That's where this policy on a hey, we're going to do this and we're going to put these people into spot based on this hey, you don't have the experience, you don't have the training based on you are a female, based on the color of your skin, based on your sexuality, whatever it is. This is where this is going to be an issue for America. So, dei good thing, absolutely, I think it is a good thing. We should have diversity in America. There is no doubt in my mind about that.

Is it fair that we push people that are qualified for the position over people because of their skin color, their gender, whatever it may be? No, absolutely not. That's not okay. I'm sorry if you disagree, but that is how I feel about it. You know, let's come to an America where we can get a job because maybe you worked hard at it, you went to school, you put in the time. That's the principle I think we need to go off of here, and I think that if you have a problem with that, you really need to do some thinking, because if you think that it is okay to be put ahead because of something, then what do you really stand for? I don't know. So, anyways, guys, thank you again for checking out this podcast, still getting the direction of what I'm't know. Again, I just want to put good information out of different topics. I want to pull back the lies that we're being told. I want to pull back what mainstream media is putting out in front of us, or not just voters, but the American people, to come to a conclusion about their political party without this just tension between each other. Obviously, in California, deep blue state, I have a lot of friends that are liberals. I have a lot of friends that are conservatives and we get along just fine. I'd like to help get America along and come together.
