Episode 1 begins with an Overview of Reconstruction.

What is your heritage?

As Americans, we have an amazing heritage that most of us don’t know about. But God has richly and uniquely blessed all of us in the United States - we indeed have a good inheritance we don’t deserve but for which we should be thankful and humble.

In this series of podcasts, we will consider parts of the story of the United States, initially starting immediately after the War Between the States and moving through the 20th century and into the 21st. The episodes will be short, about 25 minutes each, so we won’t have time to unpack a lot. But we will unpack some of the significant events and trends that led to the current condition of the United States. These include the following:

The growth of the U.S. as the world leader,

The technological evolution,

The various individual leaders who have affected the U.S. for good or evil,

Our nation's gradual drift from a firm biblical foundation.

By the end of this series, you should have an appreciation for the tremendous blessings, incredible tragedies, and the overall changes the United States experienced during the last one hundred and fifty years, or so, and the need for a biblical revival in all areas of our culture.

If you want to have a fuller background to the material in our series, please consider purchasing the workbook I wrote for my high school history classes, Modern United States History, published by Canon Press, in Moscow, Idaho. But whether you get the workbook or just listen, I think you will enjoy the stories and hopefully gain some insights into U.S. history, which is indeed His story!
