hello love welcome to good mama meditations a series of quiet messages from loving mother voices in my podcast good mama magic how i lost my religion hitchhiked away from marriage discovered magic and met the mother i share my own story of losing nearly everything and how the most unexpected journey helped me finally see the patterns in my life that weren't serving me one of the biggest and most healing ahas was learning that the voices my body had been built upon were critical and unkind so i was constantly at home in relationships jobs and spaces that did not serve me in fall 2023 as i listened back to back to julia fox's Down the drain and Jeanette McCurdy's I'm Glad My Mother Died memoir, I realized how many of us have had to deconstruct and reconstruct complicated relationships with critical mothers. I was constantly at home in relationships, jobs, and spaces that did not serve me. And one day, while sitting over coffee with one of my daughter's dearest friends, a trans college kiddo who had to make the complicated decision to go essentially no contact with her own mother, I sat and wondered what it would be like to let all of our nervous systems rebuild themselves on nourishing and nurturing Mama voices the voices we did not have when we were children love to hear love to hear our child heart love to hear love to hear our child love love to hear love to hear love to hear love to hear love to hear love to hear love to hear love to hear love to hear love to hear love to hear love to hear Rookie, let us put you to bed tonight. She gathered me in a giant bear hug between herself and her dear husband Nephi and began to sing song the sweetest good night. Oh Nephi, look at our little girl. Isn't she the most beautiful little girl that you've ever seen? And then to me as she stroked my hair saying, sweet child, we love you so much. You are perfect. Do you know that you are perfect? Do you know that you are everything that we ever hoped for in a daughter? Do you know that we want you to have the world, anything that you want? What do you want, love? Do you want all the ponies? Here, here are all the ponies. Do you want all the nail polishes? Here, here are all the nail polishes. Cat continued this way for a few minutes and then speaking the words of sweet and loving parents, she and Nephi said,'We love you. We love you.' I felt my body at first question it. How could I possibly believe that I was this loved? This lovable? But as they kept holding me, kept hugging me there, I told both body and brain, what if these words are true? These words can be about you. Listen, listen, you can trust these two. And for the first time in maybe forever, I allowed myself to melt into it all. To trust. To trust the kindest voices. To believe that love was meant for me. To know that I was made for only the best of everything. This little moment changed things for me. For the first time, I had a neural pathway that could believe I was being watched over and adored by pure mother energy and a gentle, supportive, kind, and loving father heart. And that was the beginning of Good Mama Meditations. In my podcast, Good Mama Magic, Ayahuasca led me to the start of a profound and powerful remothering journey. Learning that I was love, that I was worthy of love, and that there were people in this world who wanted nothing but the best for me. And part of my healing was finding those people, letting them fill my life with their love and their loving voices. It was all a huge part of me learning to love myself exactly as I am. My hope for you is that Good Mama Meditations will help you do the same. Whether you're 15 or 50, too many of us have been walking through this world without the loving support of gentle, and healing voices. In this series, I've pulled together many of the most gentle and fierce mama bears that I know and bring their words to you now, words written by them as they think about what you might need to know, to believe that you are worthy of love. If you are a medicine soul, I highly recommend a microdose of any medicine that calls to you. I've asked the mamas in this series to keep in mind the frequency and heart space opened by prescription ketamine lozenges. If you're new to medicine, consider this my own gentle mama voice, inviting you to work with and ask around. Find an open-minded medical provider if it feels so true to you. I hope you have a great day. Bye. That might be able to help you access this healing modality in the comfort of your own home nest. Before each meditation, I introduce you to the mamas whose voices you'll hear from. These women are all kind and dedicated mothers. I chose them because they love in the way that mothers should, hugely, with big hearts and ancient wisdom in their bones. Each of them took many moons to find just the right words to give you. As you continue on your own way, finding your own path, led by your own heart, and backed by the voices of a mother, many mothers, who wish to say,'You're doing a beautiful job.' My darling, welcome to Good Mama Meditations.
