Hi, Steph. Hi, Dani. We're back again. This is going to be our episode three. Happy to see you back or welcome if you've never been. we're a true crime podcast. We like to focus on death row cases, especially in Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. And Dani here is going to tell me a salacious story. And
Daniwelcome to the Lethal Library. so today, Steph, I'm going to tell you about some dirtbags. I
Stephanielove dirtbags. I can't wait to roast these people.
DaniIt is Donald Fetterly and Karla Windsor. Karla Windsor is the first woman ever to be sentenced to death in the state of Idaho.
StephanieCongrats girl. Way to, way to suck it up and represent the worst of us. Overachiever. Very first. First woman. Equality. Women can be on death row too.
DaniIf you're bad enough. Karla. I'm going to take you back to 1983. Friday, September 9th, 1983, Sterling Gene Slim, grammars, he went by Slim. His body was found on the Snake River. His clothed body was found six miles downstream from Walters Ferry, Idaho. You know where that's at?
StephanieI do.
DaniHis body was drifting about three feet from the treeline shore next to the boat ramp. Two elderly fishermen saw the body and pulled it to shore with a stick and then contacted the local authorities. I'm saying if this was 2003, 2023, the fishermen would have watched enough Dateline to know that They don't
Stephanietouch. No touchy. No touchy. You don't touch. I'm sure they were like, well we gotta be sure. We gotta, we gotta really investigate this. Is he dead or not dead?
DaniI, but now we know.
StephanieDid he like poke him with a stick or something?
DaniThey drug him with a stick? Yeah, they, they. I bet they were
Stephaniepoking like,
Danihey buddy. They didn't poke, but they, they grabbed a stick and, and pulled it to shore. You okay buddy?
StephanieYeah. He wasn't okay.
DaniI just wanted to catch some fish and I caught a dead body. It. I feel It's
Stephanieno good. I really hope I never encounter a scene like that, because
DaniHave you ever found a dead body? Have you ever saw a dead body, like, outside of a In
Stephaniethe
Daniwild? Outside of a funeral home. Yes. Oh! You ha I know the story. We're gonna have to tell that sometime. I have to. We're gonna have to do a story time.
StephanieA story time of dead bodies. Like, it's the worst thing to stumble upon. So I
Danifeel, I feel so bad for these guys, but they did call the local authorities. Sterling's body was bound at the wrists and the ankles with duct tape. And his hands were behind his back. The duct tape was also wrapped around his head and covered his nose and mouth. Oh. Authorities said that the 45 year old Sterling, by the way, love that first name. Me too. Sterling, was last seen on Tuesday at 4 p. m. when he left work at Kit Manufacturing. Kit? Kit. So many people we know
Stephaniehave worked at Kit.
DaniSterling had been reported missing by his estranged wife, Rosalie Grammer, on September 9th, after he failed to stop by for his daily visit with his four year old son. He was very attached to his son and would visit him every day. She knew. they had been estranged, but they were working on, they were working it out. Co
Stephanieparenting in the 80s, I'm proud.
DaniThey were looking at moving back in together. That, I mean, that's the story that, that she has said. Like, they were working on reconciling. So. Oh, gosh.
StephanieI'm glad at least she was expecting him and knew to call.
Daniso she filed a missing persons report, cause she was so worried. Included in the report, Sterling's supervisor from work had called Rosalie saying he hadn't seen him since Tuesday afternoon. And later that day, Rosalie saw her husband's pickup in Caldwell with a man and two women in it.
StephanieOh, she's like what in the world? Mm hmm. That's unbelievable that she saw his truck. Well, it was
Dania small town, like, I mean, back, back then.
StephanieEspecially early 80s, for sure. Right. But still the chances that she just runs in and is like, sees.
DaniLike, oh, that's my husband's truck. after they found Sterling, they were, the Sheriff's Department released a very detailed description of Sterling's body. And, in doing my research, I have never seen such a description. So, I'm going to read the full description because I felt, that it was a lot and it's different than normally what you would hear, but also the Sheriff's Department was releasing it because they thought it would provide leads. So they wanted to be very detailed. Sterling was described as a Caucasian with a close trimmed brown hair and a receding hairline. He is six foot tall and 160 pounds, blue eyes, and a neatly trimmed Lincoln type beard, but no mustache. Sterling was wearing a short sleeved khaki shirt, blue jeans, and a two inch wide leather belt with a floral design and a buckle with the inscription Caterpillar. He was also wearing a neck chain with a silver eagle in flight. A silver digital wristwatch. It was very
StephanieThat's incredibly detailed. Yeah, I just And we know now that they try to only give very basic stuff, so that people can't try to own up to something they didn't do, or if someone does know certain specific things that haven't been released. That's a red flag of like, well, why did you know that? And so
DaniI just included that whole, because it's a very
Stephaniedetailed description. I can see it for a missing person, but if the person is deceased, they were looking for clues.
Danion Saturday, September 10th, the day after his body was found, two people were arrested at a roadblock on Midland and Lake Lowell in Nampa after a high speed chase. Are you envisioning it? I am. I can see it. A patrol cars chased a couple at speeds up to 70 miles per hour. Karla Windsor, age 27 and Donald Fetterly, age 26, were arrested while driving Sterling's pickup truck and booked on first degree murder charges. According to the sheriff, the couple had met Sterling about two weeks before and had been to his home and seen his possessions. Sterling had let the couple stay On that previous Monday, September 5th, after they showed up at his house stating they had no money and no place to go. He even invited him, he was making dinner. He's like, come in, eat, stay here for the night. Being a generous person. He was being such a nice guy. And the next day, they all left the house together. So, when Sterling left for work, everybody left. But Fetterly and Windsor have been told they had several warrants out for their arrest. For And we're making a plan to leave the state. They're on the lam. They want to be on the lam. After the arrest, it was discovered Windsor and Fetterly were just released from jail. For what? They were in on charges of fraud, fraudulent use of a credit card.
StephanieEspecially after last week, hearing how this fraud and financial crimes escalates for some people. It's so crazy. And concerning of it puts them in these positions or they put themselves in these positions, honestly, and then they're willing to do unspeakable things
Daniit escalates incredibly like I'm writing a bad check or I'm using a stolen credit card to murder. How do we get there?
StephanieThe jump seems like it should be so far away, but hearing these stories and knowing that it happens. and people feel so inclined to take it that far over a financial crime. Which typically in the 80s definitely a slap on the wrist. Yeah, like, oh, everyone does a little check fraud. Well, they were let out on bond. Well, and everyone was using checks and sometimes checks bounce and that's technically fraud. And it would take a
Danilong time to figure it out too. So, if
Stephanieyou're not doing it on purpose or if you can be like, hey, this is a one, like they were not Like hammering down on a little bounce check here and there or like a little check kiting. They didn't even really know how to track that stuff then. No, no. So to see the escalation is so insane to me.
DaniLike, oh, we're stealing money and now we're gonna murder.
StephanieNo, I'm gonna kill people about it.
DaniYeah, I think that's a plan.
StephanieCalm down.
DaniThe pair are out on bond. And when all this happened, I was scheduled to be back in court on October 4th and I want you to remember that date. October 4th, got it. An autopsy had showed that Sterling had died from five stab wounds. And a buck knife was recovered from the victim's 1970 Chevy when the two were arrested.
StephanieKnife in the Chevy. Yeah.
DaniI'm just gonna keep this. So obviously,
Stephanieum, very astute. Uh,
Danithey're so astute that they were driving a missing person's vehicle. They were
Stephaniegallivanting. They were around town. In daylight. In a small town, people talk. So
Danion October 4th, both Windsor and Fetterly, When they were supposed to originally go to court You're here
Stephanieanyway, motherfucker
DaniWhen they were, that was their original court date for the credit card fraud
StephanieImagine if you would have just been here for credit card fraud instead of murder
DaniWouldn't that have been nice? Now you're fucked So, both of them refused to plea So the judge entered non guilty pleas for both parties And Fetterly stated in court Quote, I'm just gonna take the fifth on that. I'm not saying nothing when the judge asked for his pleas on the charge of first degree murder, first degree robbery, and grand theft. Some people think
Stephaniethat fifth is, like, you can just say fifth. Yeah. Fifth. Fifth. Fifth. Fifth.
DaniWhat are those people that, um,
StephanieSovereign citizens. Thank you. Oh my gosh. Actually, I'm an LLC. The actual person under the name of Stephanie couldn't be here, but I'm representing the LLC and I have permission to travel freely per the constitution, which I don't listen to because I'm not I'm, I'm not governed by the constitution. I have rights as a, and listen, I can see how easily something, someone could think. Oh, that kind of makes sense. But when I see these people in court with a judge and they're like, actually judge legally and the judge is like, legally, I tell you,
Danilike, no. Yeah. My favorite was people get pulled over. They give the cops a hassle. I'm not driving.
StephanieYeah. I'm traveling.
DaniAnd as a sovereign citizen, I am free to travel anywhere I want. Are you traveling
Stephanievia a vehicle? No, I'm just traveling. Oh my gosh. It's so Delusional. We all have rules ladies
Daniand gentlemen whether You have to drive safe and or get a ticket or whether you murder somebody and you Are going to prison so no breaking the rules. Okay, I would love it would be hilarious to see like Fetterly go in and be like I'm a sovereign citizen in court.
StephanieI'm technically an LLC. Technically, no. Technically,
Daniyou're a douchebag.
StephanieYeah, and you're in court on the exact date that you could have just went to court and got a slap on the wrist for a little credit card fraud.
DaniCan I just tell you, I want to tell you how they fucking jam these court cases through in the 80s. I'm telling you. They're like, we're getting it
Stephaniedone, um, efficiency is key.
DaniSo they were arrested on I wonder
Stephanieif the cocaine had anything to do with it.
DaniSo, they were jamming in the 80s with these fucking trials. I want you to keep note of this. Okay. September 10th, these two were arrested. Yeah. The trial. December 12th. 8 fucking weeks.
StephanieThis is a a death penalty first degree murder case. They're like, one month, we got it. We don't sleep. 8 weeks. I'm living and breathing my client,
Daniyour honor. I got this.
StephanieWe have 24 hours in a day. I'm using all of them. And then I'm using all of them tomorrow, too. Oh my god,
Danifucking 8 weeks to go to fucking church. Cocaine.
StephanieLet's go. Hell of a drug. They were researching to the 25th degree. Yeah. Cocaine efficiency, folks. That's the only explanation.
DaniSo on December 12th, the trial for Fetterly begins. Now I will say this. They were gonna try to do the trial together with one attorney. And then the one attorney was like, um, yo, Judge Lodge, um, I don't think that I could properly in eight weeks. This couple's wild. I represent two clients in a death penalty case and I feel like we should separate the trials and they should have a
Stephaniegood call. So this lawyer was probably using marginally less cocaine. Probably. Okay.
DaniInstead of being like Superman. I can do it all. What I'm
Stephaniesaying is alleged. It's just funny commentary. We don't know, but that's a, that's a quick turnaround for a death penalty case. And he was going
Danito have to, he's finally like, yo, judge, I cannot do service to judge to my client clients. If I have to present, you know, represent two days and yeah, I can't, I can't do it. So when the, when the trial for Fetterly begins. Two witnesses testified that they saw Federle and Windsor in Sterling's pickup. One was Gallivanting. Gallivanting. They were flaunting. They were Let's keep a low profile. I bet you they were the ones on fucking cocaine, meth, whatever.
StephanieThey were having a time. Regardless of what drugs were involved, they were like, this is a sweet truck. Do I want to ride in the bed of the truck with my top off? Hell yeah, I do. Or with a
Danidead body in back. Fuck. Fuck. No, listen, this is why I'm saying this.
StephanieOh my god, I'm so excited.
DaniOne was a Canyon County patrolman, and the other was Rosalie, Sterling's wife. Rosalie stated, when she saw the pickup on that Friday, She asked them to stop, and when they pulled over, Fetterly told her that Sterling had loaned him the truck for the weekend. she confronted him, and they're just like, Um, yeah, we're, we're allowed to use this truck, we borrowed it. Sterling, You don't know him. Me and Sterling were tight. He just loaned me the truck for the weekend. You don't even know him. You don't even know him, wife. Rosalie said she became suspicious because it would be unlike Sterling to lend out his vehicle. Take note of that. She has known him every step of the way. This girl tends to look down. And she's like, there's no way they're gonna let these freaking crooks, And the patrolman, an actual A cop. No.
StephanieNo, let me just. For a policeman to notice. You, you haven't. Oh my god, I gotta go. For those that are just listening, you have to know, she was literally hitting my leg very aggressively, so let's let her go.
DaniThe cop said he stopped Fetterly and Windsor twice on September 8th. Twice. Once at 2am and
Stephanieagain at 3am. At what point, as a cop, if you've gotten, if you've given a warning at 2am and you run into the person again, how do you not arrest them on principle of, I fucking told you. I, I was nice to you and now you're out here still showing your ass, you're still looking
DaniGallivanting, gallivanting. Not a two.
StephanieTrollop. But a
Danithree. Like both. Gallivanting. Gallivanting. But the patrolman said he was satisfied with Fetterly's explanation that he was test driving the car and intended to buy it. When the cop asked about, he's like, the vehicle's registered to someone else. He's like, I'm just, I'm just test driving at two and three. I wanted to just see. Is it
Stephanienot normal to test drive at three in the morning officer? Does the law say something definitely runs
Danidifferent at noon?
StephanieI need to know what the atmospheric changes in the temperature and pressure, um, how this car is going to perform at 3 a. m. I do a lot of things at 3 a. m. for my business. I'm an LLC. Policemen? I don't usually get on police for being too lenient, but this is like
DaniDo you know what I'm kind of concerned about and it's never stated?
StephanieWhat?
DaniBut he was killed. Sterling was killed on September 7th.
StephanieThey
Danicould have had that body ratatatted up at
Stephanie3 a. m. So is the body clunking around? Oh, that, that back there, that's just rolled up rug. Yeah, I got a new carpet for my place, uh. With a bunch of rocks. It's actually used, so it smells a little weird, but we're gonna shampoo it. Oh, the
Daniblood? Yeah. They were, uh, they were field dressing a deer. Yeah. But, I know. You've been
Stephaniehunting, officer. I know it's not in season. We've definitely been poaching. My
Danigirl, my girl here, mad cleaner. She can get anything out of anything.
StephanieYou ever seen some vinegar and baking soda combo? Boom. Fuck. He must have been extremely personal because, I mean, I would quit my fucking job after that. The annoyance for me as a cop, even if it was still like a thing, I would be annoyed. I'd be like, okay, can you go home now? Like I'm going to escort you home and you're going to get out of the vehicle and stop being a trollop out here at the late hours of the night. You literal. Like how
Danilong, you're test driving the truck at 2 and at 3 a. m.? Like, what are you doing? Like, long haul testing? Like, yeah. Are
Stephaniewe drag racing? What, what are we doing?
DaniThey're probably selling drugs or dumping a dead body. I need
Stephanieto see if this is good for me selling drugs at 3 in the morning. Um, but apparently
Daninot because the cops keep pulling me over. God, this is not gonna work for me.
StephanieThis is ridiculous. Okay. Please
Danitell
Stephanieme more. Ha
Daniha ha. So, one witness, Zeke, I'm going to butcher this name because you know, Palace, I'm not Palacios, Palacios,
StephaniePalacios, something similar to that, hopefully we're close, Zeke, Zeke
Danitestified that he bought a hat from Fetterly. A hat. A hat. And helped him sell a color television. This is the day. A color television. Fancy one. And a 22 caliber pistol to some of Zeke's friends. Later, Rosalie would testify that those items were Sterling's. An officer, for the Sheriff's Department read the transcript of Fetterly's confession in court. When he was arrested on September 10th. When asked if Windsor had stabbed Sterling, Fetterly stated she did not. When he asked, Oh, you stuck him? Fetterly
Stephaniesaid, I did. 10 4, rubber ducky. It's a wrap. Now I feel like really bad for saying there was so much cocaine involved because that's kind of a, he's doing the work for him. He's like, yeah, I, I certainly did stab the shit out of that dude. He's like,
Danidid she stab him? He's like, nope. He goes, did you stab him? Yep. Sure did. Sure did officer.
StephanieThank you.
DaniAlso in the transcript he stated he was expecting Sterling home on the night of September 6th and waited overnight for him. They, they stayed in the house. So, They got there, and they were like, Okay, we're gonna do this plan, and you're gonna hear more during her trial. And when he didn't show up, they broke in through a bathroom window, and they're just like chillin waiting for him. They're like, we kind of live here, so it'll be cool. So, Sterling, uh, they were expecting Sterling home on the night of September 6th and waited for him overnight. Sterling arrived home early on Wednesday morning because he was out with a girlfriend. Rosalie didn't probably know about. They weren't really together. No, but they were talking about it. But he did have a girlfriend. So he went over to his girlfriend's house. on that night and, he arrived home early Wednesday morning and he found Fetterly asleep in his bed. Let's have some boundaries. If you're going to break into a house that someone's letting you stay, stay in the place that you were already sleeping. You don't be like, this is fucking sweet. This is my house now. Look at this king size bed, bitch. Come on. when Sterling got home. Fetterly bound his hands, face and feet and stabbed him when Sterling became unglued. Okay. I, I think that unglued is probably deserved. I mean, get, get the fuck outta my house. Outta my house. And why are you in my actual bed? I, yeah. Ungrateful, Fetterly then put Sterling's body in the back of his pickup. It's Sterling's pickup. His own truck. And weighted down the body with rocks. Not a good plan. Uh, with rocks and dropped it into the Snake River. On December 15th, the jury found Fetterly guilty of first degree murder after only three hours of deliberation. Three hours. See, I feel like. Like, can we order fucking lunch? And then we're just, we've already we're already, we're decided. Three hours. I think as a criminal, if it takes a jury three hours, you should really look at, look, self reflection at this point. Because this means that you're bad at your job. You're bad at being a criminal. if you were on a like, Merit salary increase review you would get no merit salary increase and you'd probably be putting on on a written or Dismissed you're that bad at crimes. Why did you choose this lifestyle? They are I Yeah, not the dream team They're not in the Olympics for crime They're Australia in breakdancing is what they are Sorry, Australia. I'm just reliving that in my brain right now. I was just like, Is this what I watched? What the f is this? Like, seriously, so bad. So, in 1984, the trial for Karla Windsor started in February. Or, it's on February 15th. The first witness, Zeke! I'm not even gonna say his last name. Good ol Zeke. Good ol Zeke. Stated that Windsor had admitted to him that he killed, that she had killed Sterling. Oh, she's even like, spilling tea to anyone that will listen. Drugs. she quote, he stated, quote, we stabbed him to death and put him in the Snake River. Cut and dry. Boom. One and done. Oh God. Uh, I wonder, I should have looked up. Z can see where he is. I don't think he kept good company if he was selling stolen goods. But thank you for testifying, Zeke, because you thought you were maybe just selling someone's stolen color TV. He said, oh, we got a color TV on the books today? I can get rid of this thing. And a hat. And a hat. And Shady with a beard. I'm just telling you, if somebody's selling me a gun on the down low. Guns should always be a red flag, but he's like, a color TV, there's a huge market for this. This is going to be great for me. Huge. Huge. So, I can respect the like, I can respect the hustle. I'm not saying the hustle's right, but like, I can see where his mindset was of like, oh yeah, color TV, I can fix that for you. Windsor testified. Really? Yeah. She testified that they did not intend to kill Sterling. They were there only to ask him for help by lending them a car and money. And if he refused, they planned on robbing him. Okay, so your plan went to stabby stabby very quickly from what it seems. Yeah, I was like, hey bro, we got warrants and we're in trouble. Can we just steal his keys? Borrow your car and can you give us some money so we can just be like or I'm just gonna take your money and take Your truck and you'll be tied up in your room and can't do anything about it I'm just saying Rosalie was right So when Sterling refused to lend him the vehicle, things got heated, and that's when he was tied up. Stop there. Why don't you stop there? No, no, no, no, no. Because Sterling was yelling and thrashing around. How dare he? Ugh, can you imagine being tied up No thrashing while tied. Ugh! That's the rule. Please. Well, Fetterly and Windsor thought the police were going to be called by the neighbors. Right? Like, oh, he's being cute. Still other options. Way a lot of options. But, when he was, you know, screaming and they were worried about the police being called, that's when Fetterly stabbed him. Don't murder someone about it. Grand theft auto, way better than first degree murder, but sure. Sure. Dumb criminals. Windsor's defense attorney argued that she is not guilty on the murder charges because she did not wield the knife. Dude. Karla Windsor. Stop. Stop. I'm just saying. I know she helped tape him up. There is no way. And there was a few reports that Winsor Newton. And Federline both said he
Stephanieagreed to be tied up. But then he started fussing. No, he did not! Well, and possibly, though. I mean, someone could be like, Fine. If it's gonna make you not murder me, If it makes you feel better to tie me up so you can get away, Go ahead and do that. I could see someone doing that of being like, yeah, if that, if that is what's going to make you not kill me, I would never do
Danithat. I'd be like, here's my car. He seemed like a big dude. So here's my wallet. He's a geeky looking fuck, by the way, want to post pictures. I'd be like, here's my wallet. Here's my keys. Get the fuck out of my house. Bye, and then I'm gonna call the police and I'm not judging. I'm not victim blaming here. I Really think these two fuck. They're lying. They
Stephaniewere desperate and so nothing like this They were desperate and stupid nothing like
Danithat How did you
Stephanieknew that you had warrants you should have already been out of town?
DaniWhen they showed up and said hey, we'd like to borrow your car And could you give us some money and he's like no And they said, well, we're going to tie you up and do bad things to you. I've been like pleading. Like, he didn't, he didn't agree to that. but it only took the jury 12 hours to find Windsor guilty of first degree murder charges. So a little
Stephanielonger. Well, they had lunch and dinner. Maybe they just wanted the meal out of it. Who knows? I don't know.
DaniSo this is kind of, I don't know if you've been paying attention to the timeline, but the sentencing and feder, like, they're all very close with Windsor and Fetterly. So this is all going on on February 15th. Her trial was only like, I think it was four days. That is quick, quick, quick, quick. But on February 12th, Fetterly got sent. And he was sentenced to death by Judge Edward J. Lodge. The judge stated the crime was brutal and savage. You killed your friend, a trusting individual, for assorted motive. Fetterly stated at the sentencing hearing that if it could be done over, it wouldn't have happened. I've got nothing to say. I'll just leave it up to your hands. So he's telling the judge, like, it is what it
Stephanieis, essentially.
DaniOn appeal, the Idaho Supreme Court upheld the conviction. Because you know there's going to be appeals and appeals and appeals. On March 28th, 1984, Windsor is also given the death sentence. She is the first woman to ever be on death row in Idaho. Equality. But in December, the death penalty for Windsor was overturned. And she is resentenced to an indeterminate life in prison. Okay. So basically what happened with that was that her attorney's like she did not wield the knife. She didn't actually murder. But I bet you that bitch put tape over his mouth.
StephanieI'm just saying. I can understand that, cause, I mean, we're dealing with like plausible deniability or benefit of the doubt, right? So, I mean, who's to say how it went down? It could have went down one of a hundred ways.
DaniNowadays, I'm telling you, that if two people went in to rob a store, and one guy had a gun and shot the clerk, aka Circle K, um, you are going to You're both in jail. You're both convicted of the murder because you were going in to commit a felony Which these guys were
StephanieThis it's different, but this is beyond accomplice. I mean,
Danithis isn't like. Um, Hey babe, I have a dead body, can you help me get, she was there, and there with intent. They totally had the intent to either, they were gonna rob him regardless, yeah, so we're gonna ask him nicely, and if he says no, then we're gonna just rob him. That was their whole fucking thing. Like we're gonna go ask him for help, but if he says no, we're gonna fuck him up and rob him. I mean that was their whole thing. Yeah, it doesn't seem like
Stephaniethere was much resistance on
Daniher part. No. Drugs!
StephanieDrugs!
Daniin 2000, after several appeals, I mean, we're talking. 2000, my goodness. Yeah. So, so many appeals. We're in a new country. I just, I'm not going to bore you with, I just, and by the way, can I just tell you, When you have an appeal, I feel like you get a, you have to list all your appeal reasons when you get an appeal. I'm appealing for A, B, C, D, E, F, all the way through Z. Give them all. This bullshit of, I'm appealing for this. Oh, I didn't win. Okay, now I'm going to appeal for this. This is why the shit drags out for
Stephaniefucking 15 years. Well, and why not put everything? Because everything together might illustrate, a pattern of corruption. No, because they want another
Danichance, another chance, another chance to the fucking Idaho Supreme Court. I'm gonna try it on this. This was all up in the Supreme Court. By the way, also, Idaho's death penalty, the reason that there's so many issues in the 80s with these things There were so many people that was given the death penalty here in Idaho, but the reason there was so much issue and so many convictions were commuted to life sentences is because really our law in Idaho was not constitutional. So I just have to say that on a lot of these cases, which on a legal basis That's the fault of
Stephanieour state, you have to be within the constitution. So if you're doing things outside, it's always going to be argued. So what is
Danihappening is that they would get convicted by a jury. But the judge would hand down the death sentence and by Constitution does the jury have to do that jury needs to do it So that's why we're seeing all these issues and there's a but I read a bunch about You know Redoing like the Idaho had to like redo their
Stephaniewhole Decimal is trying to do their own thing. Not surprising weird
Danilike we do what we want. We're just gonna You Murdered! I want to! Dead! Go! Bye! But, it, that's what, that's why some of these cases that we're talking about for years and years and years is because they kept taking it back to the Supreme Court and saying, this is not the judge sent, sentenced them and not the jury. So basically, we had an unconstitutional death penalty in Idaho, and that's why a lot of these are It was clearly glaring. And, and so So that's why these are fucking dragged on for years and years and years and years. but in 2002. The Idaho Supreme Court threw out the death sentence for Fetterly because it was not handed down by a jury and He did go through One like a resentencing trial He was granted that and they gave a bunch of mitigating factors saying his mother was an alcoholic and a theft and his dad was an alcoholic and he might have fetal alcohol syndrome and
StephanieStop murdering people about it. Like you could have robbed him and got what you wanted and just We all have a fucking
Danistory. Why are we killing people?
StephanieDo a grand theft auto. This is not actual advice, but if this is your options, do a grand theft auto, not a grand theft auto, plus a Murder, like first degree murder. If you have the option to not do a first degree murder, you should take it. Life hack, don't do first degree murder if you can avoid it.
DaniLet's not do it.
StephanieFollow me for more tips. Please. They don't know I know this hack. Don't murder someone you're robbing. How about we not murder or rob? You could also forego the robbing as well and you should have skipped town weeks ago. Y'all have warrants. You should have been getting out. They had a vehicle. They could have drove it to another state. If being a criminal is your job, you suck.
DaniThey really did. I'm gonna drive around this little town. Why are you so bad at this? Where his ex wife saw us and pulled us over and was like, Hey, what are you doing in my husband's truck? And they're like, Oh, we're buying it. We're lending, we're loaning it. And we're just using it. And she's like, she's like, that doesn't sound right. Yeah, fucking idiots, but in 2002, the Idaho Supreme Court throughout the death sentence for Fetterly, and in 2003, he was resentenced to life in prison without parole, whoopsie. And in 2004, Karla Windsor. was released on December 1st in oh four, right? For Christmas at the age of 48. she's still on parole at her current age of 68. I looked her up on the IDOC Idaho Department of Corrections.
StephanieAll right, Karla, out roaming around. Let's try not to murder anyone about it anymore. But she's
Dani68 years old. I'm just saying, to be on parole for 20 years and not fuck up. She's probably doing
Stephanieall right. I certainly hope so, Karla, because these were some dumb ass decisions and positions to be in. listen, I know we've all had like a psycho boyfriend. But we gotta draw the line at murdering. I mean, that seems like the bar is very low, As
Danisoon as your boyfriend pulls
Stephanieout duct tape, you're like,
Daniehhhh,
StephanieI'm out. Like we're in a bad place. Drugs. Drugs. Drugs. Maybe. We don't know, allegedly. Oh, for sure. That's the only thing that I can logically be like. For
Danisure. I know. We're just rolling with it. In my research I saw. Drugs, but I mean, they're, they're doing drugs for sure. They're stealing and robbing and using fraudulent, and Fetterly had a very long list. Crop sheet. Yeah. Mm hmm. All right, so Karla's out and about. How about him? So, this is kind of an unsatisfying ending for me. Let's hear it. Fetterly shows up on the IDOC site as discharge of 7 20 2020. COVID time he got out. I can't find, please, if somebody finds anything on that, please, the lethal library at gmail. com. I was unable to find, it just says discharge. I don't know if IDOC, if they're dead, they're discharged. I could not find an OPIT. I could not find anything on his release. For Dan,
StephanieDani is such a good researcher, guys. She left no stone unturned that she had access to. So if you guys can find something on this one, I don't think it's a letdown of an ending. I think this is a good one to chat with people about for sure. I'm so frustrated. Because so many people have so many skills out there.
DaniI'm
Stephanielike, where's the obit? Like where's something? What does discharge mean? Is discharge only for you left? Or if you died? Whoopsie. Do you get
Danidischarged
Stephanieif you died? Like, they're like, yeah, we're checking that box, discharged. He's out. He's discharged to the afterlife, whichever, whatever afterlife that is. Help us guys. So, Fetterly, where are you? Fetterly, if you're listening now, would you mind just emailing us? Could you shoot us an email? Ask, uh Hey, Karla! Karla, you might know. Would you email us at the douchebag
Danihonestly? I'm just gonna say it was the 80s. Karla, give us
Stephaniethe deets. If you wanna give us the real stuff. Story of your side. We're happy to hear it because I the library@gmail.com. Please, Fetterly, I have no doubt, was a dish bag Fetterly was being a dipshit. Why kill someone when you can just rob them? He's taped up. Take the car. He could be there for days. I mean, thankfully his wife was very on it. So, you would have had plenty of getaway time, though. Come on. There was no need for this. We're not that far
Danifrom Oregon. What the fuck
Stephanieis wrong with you? You're on another level. You have
Daniescalated it too far. You can buy lottery tickets 45 minutes. No excuses for not leaving the state. Oh my god. They could be in Nevada in like an hour. They could be in
Stephanieanother country. They could get to Canada. Going over the Canadian border in the 80s. I'm sure it was like, hey, do you like, Speak English and kind of could pass as a Canadian. Sure. We like you guys. I mean,
Daniif the local PD didn't catch that there was a missing report on the fucking vehicle. They had no problem going through the fucking Canadians. Go to
StephanieCanada. Go to Mexico. Bye. We are, we're sandwiched between two different countries. If you know you got warrants out, don't murder someone about it to get away. Do you see how that's just making the problem
Danibigger? Thrux! Thrux!
StephanieAll right guys, so that was Fetterly and Windsor. Hope you enjoyed. this was a really fun one. cause fuck those fucking criminals. They're horrible people! Who kills people?
