This week, Craig is on a well-deserved break after working on Sorted: a handbook for a better Scotland, so Social Media & Communications Coordinator Rory Hamilton is filling in as guest host. Rory is joined by Common Weal Board member Allison Graham, former SNP Policy Development Convenor Chris Hanlon, and editor of the Vive Ecosse independence blog, Graeme Spence. They reflect on the result of the UK Supreme Court's decision on Wednesday morning that the proposed Bill does relate to reserved matters, and in the absence of a section 30 order, the Scottish Parliament does not have the power to legislate for an independence referendum, and look at the rallies which happened in the aftermath of the announcement, and what all this means for the future of Scotland.

Graeme, Allison, and Chris have all contributed to the ViveEcosse.com independence blog, which can be found here: https://viveecosse.com/

A summary of the Supreme Court judgement can be read here and you can take a look at the coverage of the evening's rallies here.

Common Weal has distilled ten years of our policy work into our new book Sorted: a handbook for a better Scotland. The crowdfunder is still open until November 30th and the book will be launched on our shop in December.

Common Weal's work is only possible thanks to our generous supporters who regularly donate an average of £10 per month. If you would like to help us build our vision of an All of Us First Scotland, you can do so here: https://commonweal.scot/donate/
