James Daubeney

Welcome to another episode of The Story of Rock and Roll Show.  S7E27 went out live on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 on 4 Jul 2024.  It’s traditional on TSORR to celebrate Independence Day in honour of the USA and all that awesome Rock music that has come out of the US, the stuff I, and many other listeners grew up on.

I took the opportunity to use the week's Twisted Triplet to thank the USA with three different songs called 4th of July.  We heard from The Sweet, Soundgarden, and of course Bruce Springsteen.  The final track for the Evolution of the Foo Fighters was ‘Rescued’ off their 2023 release dedicated to their friend and drummer Taylor Hawkins But Here We Are.

Immortals this week came from Audience and a track called ‘House on the Hill’ off the album of the same name.  Released in 1972 it is a wonderful track.

The Diabolical Challenge looked at four bands beginning with the letter ‘C’.  The idea is that we have 4 albums, and you can only pick one.  This week we had:

Coheed & Cambria – No World For Tomorrow

Cinderella – Long Cold Winter

Cold Chisel – East

Children of Bodom – Follow the Reaper

Bomb Crocodile and Slow Panda’s picks of the week were Billy Valentine & The Forest Rangers – Along the Watchtower and David Bowie - I’m Afraid of Americans’

We ended heavy with some Indian metal and an Awesome track from Swedens The Halo Effect

Artists Featured:  Tom Morello, ACDC, The Lazys, Van Halen, Mammoth WVH, Dee Snider, Elegant Weapons, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, The Angels, The Saints, Dirty Honey, Massive Wagons, Soundgarden, The Sweet, Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Foo Fighters, The Color Blew, Jasper Dan, Goodbye June, Audience, Coheed & Cambria, Cinderella, Cold Chisel, Children of Bodom, Sum 41, Exciter, Manowar, Rob Zombie, Billy Valentine & the Forest Rangers, David Bowie, Bloodywood, W.A.S.P., The Halo Effect
