The Sweetest (and Toughest) Job
Blending Families with Yumnah Syed Swift
Yumnah Syed-Swift, LMSW is a proud bio-mom to her sweet son and bonus mom to two amazing girls, and a Licensed Masters of Social Work . A born and raised California girl, turned New Yorker, Yumnah has lived in LA, New York City, and now calls Austin, TX home. She has a Masters degree in Social Work and is licensed to provide therapy in the state of Texas. Currently, Yumnah is working on obtaining her LCSW, with her ultimate goal being to open her own private practice in the future.
On this episode, Yumnah talks about finding love after divorce. How she became a Mom first as a bonus Mom and then how she navigated having her own child with her husband and blending their family's. She talks about step-parenting and parenting a special needs child. Yumnah shares how she relishes in the unexpected blessings that have unfolded in her life and the winding path she took to get her where she is today.
She recently launched her own Virtual Assistant business, Swift and Savvy Virtual Assistant Services. She founded her business to help small business owners take things off their plate so they can focus on the things most important to them. After years of experience working as an Administrative Assistant, Office Manager, PR Assistant, and Event Planner and Coordinator, creating this business felt like the right step in cultivating her own goals and supporting others in the process!
When she's not at her desk, it's likely Yumnah is chasing around her infant, helping her stepdaughters with homework, cooking, cleaning...ya know, mom stuff! Her husband says she is a "type-A" person and doesn't know how to relax. She can't resist a cozy blanket, sour candy and a good cup of chai.
