Behind every successful artist is a team shaping the business behind the music.

In this episode of TIMELESS with Teddy, entertainment lawyer Kelvin Nana Amoako shares his remarkable journey from artist to one of the trusted legal minds behind today’s global Afrobeats movement.

Born in Ghana, Kelvin’s path has taken him from Belgium to London, building a career that now sees him representing some of the most exciting talents in the current music landscape, including JAE5, NSG, and Br3nya.

Before law, Kelvin was part of the pioneering Afrobeats collective Vibe Squad in the late 2000s. During those early years he often became the unofficial legal translator for fellow artists — helping them understand contracts and the music business, often without charge. Years later, many of those same artists would return as his clients.

In a full-circle moment, producer JAE5 played a pivotal role in Kelvin’s relocation from Ghana to London — where he had been lecturing at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and King’s University College.

This milestone episode explores music, law, purpose and the importance of understanding the business behind creativity. A powerful conversation for artists, collaborators and anyone navigating the evolving global music industry.
