Exodus: The Glory of What Matters

Neil McClendon
Exodus 40:33-38 1. The tabernacle matters, v. 1-33 a) the tabernacle is a microcosm of creation. b) the tabernacle is a new creation c) the attention to detail reflects the created order of the universe d) the tabernacle should inform how we think about our bodies I Corinthians 6:18-20 If you thought of your body as the temple where God lived, what changes would you make to what you do with it? “Sometimes what the Bible does is change how we think about God, ourselves and the world we live in. Only after our thinking is properly adjusted can we behave in ways that reflect that thinking.” ?? How is the Bible adjusting the way you think? 2. Finishing matters, v.33 b What is unfinished in your life this year? 3. Glory matters, 34-38 “I believe the glory of God is the going public of his infinite worth. When we live for the glory of God it means feeling, thinking and doing whatever we do in such a way that it gives evidence of His supreme greatness. And when that goes public in creation, the heavens are telling the glory of God, and human beings are manifesting his glory, because we’re created in his image and we are trusting his promises so that we make him look gloriously trustworthy.” -John Piper How is God glorifying himself in you these days?
