Dr. Sandeep Mistry and Donna Lee

Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.

On Today's episode, Donna and Dr. Mistry discuss some of the developments in treatments for an enlarged prostate (also known as BPH, or benign prostatic hypertrophy)  and prostate cancer.

Sound travels through the air in the form of waves and causes our eardrums to vibrate, which is what we interpret as a sound that we hear. Some sounds to us are loud, others are quiet, some are pleasant and unpleasant. But did you know that sound waves can be so concentrated that they can cause changes to our cells and tissues? That is exactly what happens in the HIFU procedure. The HIFU, or high intensity focused ultrasound, is a non-invasive procedure that uses sound waves to treat prostate cancer.  One thing that stands out about this procedure is its ability to not only treat cancer but also minimize the risks of affecting normal sexual, urinary, and penile function.

Dr. Mistry also gives us an inside look at some of the treatments he uses for an enlarged prostate, as well as symptoms to watch for that may indicate an issue with your prostate health.

If you have questions about a specific treatment or would like to know if you are a candidate for a particular procedure, feel free to contact our office. Dr. Mistry sets aside time each week for FREE phone consultations where he answers any questions you might have regarding treatment.
