Gynecomastia is a condition characterized by breast tissue that develops on a man and can be the result of hormonal imbalance or even a medication side-effect. While this may seem like a rare occurence, it is actually a normal change that takes place in males at critical stages of life: birth, puberty, and entering into our later years.
Clearly, this condition can take a toll on a man's health. Not only can it indicate an underlying hormone imbalance or reaction to a medication, it can also wreak havoc on a man's self-esteem and mental health.
Dr. White discusses some of the surgical treatments available for treating this excess breast tissue as well as the costs associated with them.
