Dr. Freeman gives us a crash-course in IV hydration and how it differs from regular, oral  hydration. Oral hydration is simply hydrating through drinking, which involves much of the fluid being absorbed in the gut. With I.V. hydration, patients are given an I.V. bag that gets fluids directly into the body's own circulation- allowing essential minerals, vitamins, and fluid to move freely and body-wide.

Dr.  Mistry and Dr. Freeman also discuss the role of IV hydration in athletic performance and recovery, as well as aiding in relief of muscle cramps, migraines, constipation, and more.
