Episode 8 - Spirituality 1.0

Join us for an "off-the-cuff" discussion on the history and foundation of my spiritual life and the journey that has led me to where I am today.  Many thanks to Andrew Hughes for the suggestion of the topic.  This will be a two part short series 

Born and raised Roman Catholic, the oldest of three - to a father who was the oldest of five.

As I grew older, I began to question the church, the structure of it, and "blind faith."

During my late teens and early 20's, I began to explore eastern philosophies, specifically Taoism through the following books:  The Tao Te Ching and the Hua Hu Ching.  After reading many translations of each, I found these two translations to be my favorite:

• The Essential Tao : An Initiation into the Heart of Taoism Through the Authentic Tao Te Ching and the Inner Teachings of Chuang-Tzu, By Thomas Cleary
• Hua Hu Ching : The Later Teachings of Lao Tzu, by by Hua-Ching Ni, Fu Lao Wang

A return to the church in my mid-late twenties and early 30's - along with the subsequent (negative) results...and how study of the bible factored into my personal spiritual journey.
