We believe the Bible is God’s inspired, authoritative, and infallible Word to man. We believe, as expressed in the scriptures, that an individual can receive forgiveness of sin and the gift of eternal life only through faith in Christ, receiving Him as their personal Lord and Savior.

Stan Candler

Stan Candler is the senior Pastor at Washington Baptist Church. Pastor Stan was born and raised in the Washington Baptist Church community. His family has been active members of the church for 60+ years. It was here he committed his life to Christ and later surrendered to the Lord’s call into the ministry. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been a pastor for 34 years with the last 25 years being the Senior Pastor of Washington.
