Ever wondered what drives someone to relentlessly chase their dreams? After returning from a long-awaited vacation, I had a profound realization: my true happiness comes from performing and making people laugh. Join me as I recount my time off and how it reignited my passion for comedy, wrestling, and spending quality moments with loved ones. This episode is a heartfelt reflection on finding joy in the grind and the activities that truly fuel my ambition.

I also share insights on the crucial combination of talent and an unyielding work ethic to achieve greatness. Inspired by the analogy of a torpedo seeking its target, I discuss my aggressive motivation to excel in the competitive world of comedy. Tune in for an honest conversation about embracing a proactive mindset, setting ambitious goals, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Speaker 1:

What's up everybody? So I'm officially back into the groove of things, and it's interesting because I learned something in reflection after coming back from my vacation, which is this I'm happiest when I'm working, and I don't mean for my day job, that's just what I do is a primary salary for now, until my passions comedy can pay for my mortgage and my groceries and absolutely everything. My point is this Now that I'm back from my vacation, I can do the things that I love the most, which is get on stage, make people laugh, be intricate, be mysterious. Age, make people laugh, be intricate, be mysterious. Um, figure out a clever way of talking about things, do wrestling, do jujitsu and be at my house, and at the house is really the last thing you know. Be with my loved ones is what I really mean, uh, by that. So, yeah, I'm really thankful because, um, I don't ever go on vacations and this was the first one I've taken in a long, long, long, long while. But it's interesting because, in hindsight, it really wasn't being on vacation that did it for me, it was post facto, it was coming back from vacation and now, as I already knew, but now it's sort of like it's even more apparent that what really makes me happiest is the things that I'm, that I am doing right now getting back into the swing of things, getting back on stage and just doing what I love most. So I'm happy, I'm thankful, I'm motivated and now I'm being that proactive, hunter, aggressive mode, default aggressive to go after and attack relentlessly all my goals and be overly ambitious and put myself back into fifth gear, which is where I belong. I'm happiest at it, like a torpedo seeking after, like an enemy ship or something. I am motivated. I can't wait to steamroll whatever other comedians are out there, because this is a relentless business.

But I truly believe that between metrics and having a work ethic and starting early, you can get anything accomplished that you want to. But it isn't just this gift that I have, but combined with it's like. But you know how sometimes people say talent alone isn't enough. That's true. You can be a great talent at basketball, but if you don't put, if you don't have a work ethic to show up to practice and to be at the games and everything else, um, and that's not going to make you great, and I'm focused on greatness, not mediocrity. Um and uh. I'm just thankful. I'm thankful I'm ready to get after it. I'm just thankful. I'm thankful I'm ready to get after it and I'm going to hop off this podcast and, um, get back to my writing. So you guys have the best day ever. Thank you so much for your time. I'm Ben Joel, don't check me out. Peace.
