Hi, this is Whitney and you're listening to Exploring Peace Meditations. Today's Yoga Nidra practice is designed to help you take a short break to be present, to be here now. We'll end today's time in silence, so, as you get settled into a reclined posture, I'll remind you now that you can find out more about the podcast and this community that supports it at exploringpeacecom slash podcast. You can find me at WhitneyRSimpsoncom. Now, settle your body. Take a few deep breaths, allow your eyes to softly close and your body to settle. We'll begin by setting an intention for our time. Say to yourself I am present. I am present as you relax today. Do your best to stay present following the sound of my voice. Do your best to stay awake, but if you find yourself getting sleepy, don't fight it. These words and meditation will seep into your soul. Now bring awareness to your body. Allow your awareness to travel to your right hand, right palm, right forearm, elbow, hip, thigh, knee, knee….
Speaker 2Calf….
Speaker 1Ankle…, heel… Soul of the foot…. Shift your attention to your left hand, palm, wrist, forearm, elbow, upper arm, shoulder. Awareness travels to the left side of the chest, left waist, hip, thigh, knee, calf, ankle, heel, sole of the foot. Now bring your awareness to the back of you that are touching the bed, the mat, the earth beneath you, middle back and upper back. Bring awareness to the entire spine Right shoulder blade, left shoulder blade, back of the neck, back of the head. Shift your awareness to the top of the head, forehead, right eyebrow, left eyebrow, space between the eyebrows, right eye, left eye, right ear, left ear, right cheek, left cheek, nose, upper lip, lower lip, chin, throat, throat. Sense your entire body, present, relaxed. Now bring your attention to your breath. Notice the natural rhythm of your own breathing. Feel the breath as it enters through your nostrils, fills your lungs, expands your diaphragm, then gently leaves your body with your next several exhales. Release any tension, let go. Let go. Be still and know that I am God.
Speaker 1Psalm 46, 10. Be present, be here now. Now imagine yourself in a beautiful garden. The air is fresh, the temperature is perfect, the Sun is shining gently. You feel completely at peace in this place. You're connected to God's creation and the beauty around you. As you visualize this beautiful garden, notice the colors, the sounds, the scents. This garden is a place that you can be still with God and practice presence and peace as you breathe. When your mind wanders over the next few moments of quiet, gently bring it back to this serene garden no-transcript.
Speaker 1And repeat any or all of these words to yourself silently. I am present in this moment. I am connected to God, creator. God, we give thanks for a chance to pause and be in our bodies, with our breath, in this moment, with you. Be with us, help us be present in all that we do, in all that we are. Help us to be here now. In your name, we pray Amen. If there's time in your day to stay, to be, to remain in this place, simply keep your eyes closed and breathe To return to your day, take your time, choose to be here now. When you're ready, you'll wiggle your fingers and your toes. You'll bring awareness into the space you're in and carry this state of presence with you as you return to your day.
Speaker 2Thank, you, you.
