Christian Nationalism - My Chat with a Senior Reporter at World Magazine
For many of us who are unapologetically Christian and believe that America has been blessed by God as a general influence for good in the world, the term Christian Nationalist is seen as pejorative. For other Christ followers, they wear the label as a badge of honor.
But definitions matter.
What leftist Rob Reiner portrayed in his recent, and abysmally received documentary, God & Country, is a movement of Neanderthal simpletons intent on creating a theocracy in America. Nothing new under the sun. Politically active Christians are offensive and should stay in their churches.
Others, like Douglas Wilson write books like Mere Christendom, “encouraging the transformation of American culture into a Christian nation.” Wilson, a prominent Reformed theologian, prolific author, and pastor of Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho, has helped found several Christian institutions and claims Christian nationalism “is a position that all consistent Christians need to take.”
Today on I'm Glad You Said That, I'm privileged to speak with Sharon Dierberger, Senior Writer at World Magazine, about her cover story on what Christian nationalism means in different circles and how the Body of Christ needs to wrestle with this label. Hope you can join us.
