I share an anecdote of a talented engineer-turned-medium who was criticized for charging a fair rate based on his training and opportunity cost.

Ultimately, I advise seeking out a trusted medium, viewing it as a special once or twice a year investment in your healing and connection to loved ones. I encourage withholding judgment about a medium's fees without understanding their full circumstances.
