Porty Podcast
The Porty Podcast is a community project, highlighting events in and around Edinburgh's seaside - Portobello! It's a very active area with sailing, rowing and kayaking on the Forth, a vibrant artistic community and a strong sense of identity which makes it slightly separate from the other parts of Edinburgh. 161 Warm Efficient Homes

Just last night, the Prime Minister ordered all pubs and clubs, cafes and restaurants, leisure centres and theatres to close in a bid to stop the spread of the coronavirus. We’ve already seen Tumbles and the Porty Swim Centre shut down for the duration as well as community projects such as Tribe Porty; Bellfield is about to follow suit. With the school year effectively ending yesterday as well and many people choosing or having to work at home, some people have been taking a closer look at their own homes and wondering what they could do to make them more fuel efficient, to cut their bills. In December last year, we reported on a meeting in Bellfield called ‘Power to the People of Porty’. At that meeting, Home Energy Scotland stressed that there was a lot that individual households could do with money provided by the Scottish Government in the form of grants and low cost loans. We wanted to find out more – and have found that those providing the service have been very busy indeed.
