Born and raised in Oslo, Caroline played for local club Lyn until the age of 15. She then moved to Stabaek, where she spent 3 seasons playing in Norway’s top division, helping Stabaek win 2 league titles and 3 Norwegian Women’s Cups. She then had a short spell at Sweden’s top-flight champions Tyreso, before returning to Stabaek again so she could complete her high school education. In 2014, she signed with German side Wolfsburg. While there, she won the Frauen Bundesliga (Women’s top flight) 3 times, as well as winning the DFB-Pokal (national cup competition) 5 times, and reached the Champions League final twice in 2016 and 2018, losing both times to Lyon. In 2019, she signed for Barcelona, where she has won the league, Super Cup, Copa Catalunya, and Copa de la Rena, as well as reaching the Champions League final in 2019, suffering defeat again to Lyon. 

Carolina has simultaneously represented the Norwegian Women’s national team from u15 right up to the first team, where she has made 85 appearances, scoring a total of 38 international goals. She has represented Norway at the 2013 and 2017 Women’s Euro Championships, as well as the 2019 Women’s World Cup. She was one of eleven players nominated in “The Best FIFA Women´s Player” in 2020.
