Sir Hutch:

So I was born and raised in Jamaica, what used to be a coffee stand plantation, migrated to America in 1998. And shortly after that, I joined the Marine Corps. Now here's the power of our mindset. The powerful mindset is that we can have some thoughts at some point in our life, and we can take the necessary action to realize that thought without even really realizing it. So I say that, say this in the third grade, right? I was sitting in a classroom reading what used to be a mandatory reading for school age children. And I remember reading this hometown news about, about a Jamaican guy, who was aboard a ship and it was working on an aircraft. And at that point in the third grade, without having any idea about this was going to come to fruition, I made a decision that if I ever go to America, I would join the military and I would work on aircraft. Keep in mind, I didn't have a TV until I was like 10 years old. I had a minimal concept of what the outside world looked like, but I always felt as if I was destined for something that was not restricted to my small community. So low and behold, several years later, I went through high school. I was an army cadet all the way through high school. And then once I came to America, my dad exposed me to the Marine Corps. He said that they are disciplined. I want to discipline. They said he had nice uniform and they are rich in tradition. I'm like, okay, sign me up. Needless to say, a couple of weeks into bootcamp, it was an entire blur, a new culture shock of coming to the country. And also a new culture shock of being in a military environment that I had. Limited idea about the possibility of what I could become, but I'm happy that a seed was planted back in the third grade and it has bloomed to where I am now a part of the 2 percent of Marines who get to where the rank of master gunnery sergeant, and also being able to partner with amazing people acquiring some multi family properties across the Southeast in Texas.
