Stephen McLain:

Hi, this is Stephen McLain of the Finance Leader Podcast. This is Bonus Episode Number 69. Welcome, and I'm hoping everyone is doing well today. This week in the US we are celebrating Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a holiday that is celebrated around the world, such as in Canada, the Philippines, the Netherlands, rwanda, brazil, australia, germany and Japan and many other wonderful places. Sometimes they are called Harvest Festivals, but all have similar roots in celebration to be thankful for a bountiful harvest and blessings over the upcoming winter. This holiday has various cultural and religious backgrounds and traditions. For many people, and I love it, this is a time to reflect not only about the successful harvest, but also what else in our lives we are thankful for.

Stephen McLain:

I am thankful for many things in my life, both personally and professionally. Here are three areas I am thankful for. Number one I have a great support system. I am very thankful for the great inner circle and the family support I have. We all need a strong, supportive and honest inner circle to help us succeed, and your inner circle needs to be continually evaluated and updated as necessary. Today's inner circle may be different a year from now, and that's okay. I am very grateful for the advice and mentoring I received to help me advance in my business and in my personal life. I have had to remove people from my inner circle and you should be quick to do so when it becomes necessary.

Stephen McLain:

Number two the opportunity to help others. I am thankful for you, my audience. I live to help others. I awake each day hoping and knowing I can bring a suggestion to someone's life that can be positively altering for them. I want to see you all improve in your profession so you have more and better opportunities. I live for that. I live for your success. I am so very thankful for this platform to reach out globally. Even if I can help one person, it is totally worth it.

Stephen McLain:

Number three who I am becoming. We all have work to do and I believe in personal growth and development. Obviously, since I talk about it so often, not only should we strive to be better in our professional life and in our personal life, but don't forget to work on becoming a better person overall. I am thankful for my current work to better understand myself and where I can continue to improve as a human being. I am very grateful and thankful for my work this year and I will continue to be here for all of you in the upcoming year. Please check out Finance Leader Academy, where you can find some great resources and also download the free Become a Finance Leader Guide. I believe it can help you with a new perspective on finance leadership. Have a great rest of your week and a great Thanksgiving holiday. Thank you for listening to the Finance Leader podcast. Until next time, lead your team, lead your organization and lead yourself to better outcomes continually, thank you.
