Podcast Paul:

Well, ho ho ho, coach, and a very merry Christmas to you. I hope you enjoyed your long winter snap, but it's over, man. It's over Time to wake up to this beautiful Christmas day. Nba, how you doing, man?

Coach Murph:

What's up, baby? How are we doing? I'm doing good.

Podcast Paul:

This is going to be an amazing day. This is a new first for J2M's first or even get there. Merry Christmas to you, coach. Merry Christmas on Christmas Day. Here we are, man NBA on Christmas Day. Of course, just too much have to be here. And not only are we here, we are here for our first live pod Boom.

Coach Murph:

Live pod, live like the games being played, lives. It's not actually live us, but we will get to that one.

Podcast Paul:

No, you're going to hear this probably the day after Christmas or knowing how busy you folks are out there with your families and everything else, maybe not until midweek, but you'll have fun listening because you're going to hear the highlights of J2M's watching the Lakers Celtics real time. We had to do this. Here. We are talking basketball these years and never doing it live. Come on, man. So, speaking of live, the game hasn't even started yet. So as we're talking right now, we've probably got about five minutes or so. Well, no one. The way it is with the network is probably 15 minutes before the Celtics Lakers start, so we got a game going on right now. I'm watching live Denver Golden State.

Coach Murph:

Yep Warriors Nuggets.

Podcast Paul:

And it's not over, it's pretty much over.

Coach Murph:

Too many Nuggets. Got them in Denver Christmas Day.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, curry with a bomb. It's not over, dude, it's 114 Denver, 110 Golden State. With almost two minutes left, this ain't over. Oh, and we saw that we might as well get right into it. Because, yeah, we're excited because, as Celtics fans, this has been the West Coast road trip, for the green Didn't start off so good. Podcast Paul wasn't happy because they were playing these Golden State Warriors who I think, stink. But I'll tell you what, man if you keep these guys close at the end of a game, golden State and you don't stick at your foot in their neck and knock them out, they're going to win. And Denver's holding them too close here, man.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, we've always had trouble with Golden State and with the heat, but, curry being curry, last game we were up 17. Defense fell apart, no big deal, just signs of the old Celtics, which they aren't at all anymore, not even worried about it at all. They're 10th in the West 15 and 14. They probably won't even make the playoffs. So, as a minute left, I think that Denver's got this one. And yeah, man, but I'm close first we got podcast P, here we're here man Pacific P. Pacific P I got crypto P.

Coach Murph:

Look at that in a second.

Podcast Paul:

I got my Celtics Christmas jammies on. I got a lot of green going on, and that's what's great about this pod too. It's cozy. It's a Christmas cozy special. I'm feeling so warm inside. I haven't looked at the lineups for the Celtics, though, because the one thing I wanted to be on this holiday was a little zingy inside, and I don't know if that's happening.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, it's calf.

Podcast Paul:

I don't think they're going to play him. Let's see, let's get the update, man, real time baby.

Coach Murph:

We've got the lineup for today. They're saying it's going to be holiday, white brown, tatum and poor Zingus. They're saying he's playing, he's playing.

Podcast Paul:

That's what they're saying. Of course he's playing Another Christmas miracle. First you have J2M's doing a live pod, now you got poor Zingus playing and, by the way, all the folks out there I know you're listening to this. It's not Christmas anymore, but Christmas continues. The holidays are here. It goes through New Year's. You've heard our passion. You know how excited we are for basketball, so to be able to see the coach and I react real time to a game, you know you've been waiting for this. So just buckle up, get your hot cocoa. You're cozy and joy.

Coach Murph:

Let's go. Yeah, they're saying. Yeah, they're saying he's going to start. So true holiday. Derek White, janneth Brown, jason Tatum, kp, mr Zingus himself. No Zing, no ring.

Podcast Paul:

So so far, what is it about? There are four games today or five for the NBA and Christmas day.

Coach Murph:

I think there was four. Let me go back to that.

Podcast Paul:

Because we're about midday right now. Which?

Coach Murph:

is probably. There's five games.

Podcast Paul:

Five games. So the first one was Bucks Nix. Did you watch that one coach?

Coach Murph:

I watched some of it, yep.

Podcast Paul:

That. Look, I got a bold disclosure. I missed that one.

Coach Murph:

Lost 122 to 129 to the Nix. Amazing game Like another one. I feel like Bronson's gone to another level. Jalen Bronson this year he scored 38 points, six assists, four rebounds. Julius Randall he's always killing it too. He had 24. Rj Barrett had 21. And quickly had 20. Part 10, they had a great.

Podcast Paul:

The Joker puts the nail in the coffin.

Coach Murph:

Sorry to interrupt. No, that's it.

Podcast Paul:

Yep.

Coach Murph:

Denver's going crazy, the Joker coming down for the dunk?

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, that's it.

Coach Murph:

They got that one.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, that game's over.

Coach Murph:

That's over. Denver's got that one.

Podcast Paul:

So this is a second game, this one right here, golden State Denver's a second game. Yeah, this is a second game, the first game was just the. Nix, so the Nix looked good.

Coach Murph:

Huh, if they shot 54% from the field, they're not as good from the three-point land, but they're. What else did they do? They out-rebounded them. Actually, they didn't on the defensive boards, they did, but that's just a good win. Right there, I told you, the Nix are a little feisty.

Podcast Paul:

Huh, You're feeling Nix, huh.

Coach Murph:

I said that in the beginning, since we started their dark horse this year.

Podcast Paul:

Where are they right now? They?

Coach Murph:

were 17 and 2. So, yeah, big win. And the Bucks had a big game. They all played well, greek and Dane, both at 32. Middleton had a good game, so that's a big win.

Podcast Paul:

Well, what's interesting with this day and you and I texted about this the other day and I know you're feeling the same way based on that text is in the East. I really do feel like it's the Celtics, bucks and Sixers and then everybody else.

Coach Murph:

Yep, but the Mighty Magic are right there. The Nix are fifth, so the Magic are fourth. I understand.

Podcast Paul:

But you have the Bucks, the Celtics and the Sixers Basically tied, and then everybody else is like five and a half or six games behind, right. Yeah, it's five games after that for everybody oh look at this Nuggets with a five-game win streak, they're longest of the year.

Coach Murph:

Yeah.

Podcast Paul:

Just saw that graphic. So that's, they're starting to heat up. And hey, what did we talk about last time on this pod? You know, actually last time we were in the pod and we'll get into this it was in season, tournament time still, and we're all fired up about that and we got excited about it because the NBA made something important in the beginning of the year. But we said that Christmas is really the unofficial beginning of the NBA season and you're seeing it with the Nugs man starting to heat up when it matters.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, but I told you about the Clippers that they're coming together. They have a high IQ on that team and they're starting to play better. You see in the numbers there, hard and playing better. They're fifth in the West. I call this here's a little prediction, pod moment. All right, the Grizzlies since Jaws back, they're three and O they're gonna be their 13th in the West right now. I predict by the spring, by March, they're gonna be fifth in the West.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, there he goes. He's throwing one out there.

Coach Murph:

Yep, memphis is behind the ranks in the West. Not gonna be any corrections there, right? No, they're with Jaws. They're the whole different ball team.

Podcast Paul:

so All right. So before this game starts and I just kinda hit on it we gotta go there Cause we're waiting on the Celtics Lakers right now. But last time we were on this pod it was right before the final of the in season tournament against the Pacers and the Lakers, and not only did I call the Lakers winning it, I called the TikTok dance. That happened.

Podcast Paul:

Oh major predictions. The TikTok dance actually happened. I said smoke a cigar, he's also drinking champagne. It was like they won the championship and I was joking about them unfurling a banner for this. They did, Although. Did you hear Shaq recently on a podcast?

Coach Murph:

No, what are you?

Podcast Paul:

saying he doesn't call it a banner, he calls it a. What did he call it? He called it like an emboldened or something. I forget the word flag. It's a flag. It's not a banner. It's a flag. That's what it is.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, paul called all of that. It was amazing. You go back to our podcast. He called the Pacers and Lakers, the Lakers winning doing the TikTok dance and everything you were joking around. It all happened even then in the banner. You were joking about them having a banner. Can we do?

Podcast Paul:

a live prediction, cause usually we do the predictions and then we go back like a month and listen, I wanna do it before the game starts. They are definitely before this game gonna highlight the banner. We're gonna see highlights of the banner. They will be talking about that today. That is my prediction.

Podcast Paul:

And listen, here's the thing, cause I was talking to a Lakers fan recently. Nice guy, I don't mean to pick on the Laker fans, I really don't, cause I do believe that they didn't really have a choice in the matter. We all know the clip a Kobe says we don't hang. You know Pacific conference titles we only hang banners, right. And how they're making fun of the Lakers. You know hanging this as a banner. It wasn't their choice. The commissioner, adam Silver, wanted you know this is his baby the NC's in tournament. He wants to play it up. But it does remind me or get me to think, and maybe this is a little sour grapes, cause we wanted to cup it a ring. Cup it a ring, but can you imagine how much flak the Celtics would be getting right now for raising a banner?

Coach Murph:

Oh, you wouldn't be allowed. We don't allow that in Boston.

Podcast Paul:

So in a way, I'm glad that we didn't win. For that reason, these guys have enough pressure.

Coach Murph:

I just I praise the bra oh here it is, here we go.

Podcast Paul:

They're hyping it up the time everybody's been waiting for. Merry Christmas, everybody. I know you woke up, you opened your presents, you know, maybe you took a little nap because now you're ready. For what Christmas is all about? This game, yeah, this five games. No, no, no, no, no. The King versus what does Tatum called JT? Yeah, I guess he doesn't have to have us All.

Podcast Paul:

Right, nice, we can't call him the kid cause we did that for Haliburton. But here we go. How many seconds, how many minutes before they show the banner? Here we go Showing a little La La Land, little. Oh, here's some Celtics fans Bleed green Laker fans, come on, show the banner.

Coach Murph:

This is the 100th meeting for LeBron James versus the Celtics. Ooh.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, we got Doc. Oh, they're all there, little Doc and Mike Breen Bam.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, we're live here. The game's live.

Podcast Paul:

We got Dot, oh Doris.

Coach Murph:

So people are there. Yep, this is, like I said, the 100th meeting versus LeBron James against the Celtics man. Here we go, so we'll watch a little bit of it and then we'll come back in the fourth, maybe at the end of the fourth. Is that what we want to do? What's?

Podcast Paul:

the plan here.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, that's the plan.

Podcast Paul:

You want to watch first quarter and then duck out and come back for the fourth.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, we'll come back and finish it up for the fourth.

Podcast Paul:

Well, here it is the graphic the Jays baby Points per. Oh, I missed it, but they're both like way up in the 20s for points per game. Nothing's changed there.

Coach Murph:

They're going to do well tonight. This is going to be a good game.

Podcast Paul:

You just said it's his 18th Christmas day, the. King LeBron's at all I think my prediction's not going to go down. They're not showing that banner. Ooh, he had a season high 40 points against OKC.

Coach Murph:

Yep, he had 40 points.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, here comes the chalk, here comes the LeBron chalk, here he goes. Oh boy, oh the king, oh boy, oh no, the game's starting man. And there he is the. Zing Zing. All right, say it again, we got Holiday. Derek White, jalen Brown, tatum and Boy Zingas.

Coach Murph:

No Zing, no ring and the Lakers.

Podcast Paul:

what do you got? You're going to show your starting five LeBron, cam Reddish get out of here. Tarane, prince Anthony Davis and Jared Vanderbilt who is that? Where's Russell?

Coach Murph:

Yeah, I know he's not starting.

Podcast Paul:

All right, what's your prediction of this game? Green by 30?.

Coach Murph:

Green machine. That's the prediction we win. Is it going to be close? It will be a close game.

Podcast Paul:

Well, okay, so here's the thing, folks. There's one thing oh, Jalen Brown comes out firing. There's one thing that the coach looks for throughout the game, actually two things turnovers and rebounds. That's what he's going to keep his eye on.

Coach Murph:

Correct, oh, we do. We do if we under 10, it's the single digit rule like 10 and under. If we get 10 under and under, Zing for three.

Podcast Paul:

That's the thing, though, man like as much as they were blowing out the last two games right. So they lost to Golden State. They lost, and then they killed the Kings and the Clippers. You know why? Because they were hitting their threes. Oh, jalen Brown is looking good.

Coach Murph:

All these snatchers is dunking off. Actually, he's been the guy he's been dunking.

Podcast Paul:

He's been the guy lately, right, he's always the guy.

Coach Murph:

He's strong man, just going to the rim and dunking on everybody. This year it's been great. It's been playing shooting well, the whole team's playing great man.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, he just stripped AD. Oh, AD gets it back. How?

Coach Murph:

about.

Podcast Paul:

Derrick Whitey. Let's talk a little AD real quick. Little Anthony Davis because that was the other thing I said in the last pod was the only reason I'm dissing on the Lakers is everybody's saying they're going to be great and Anthony Davis gets hurt all the time. And he was a monster in that final against Indiana. He put up what 40 points like 20 boards. It was just crazy stats, but that was it. He hasn't put up those stats since that game. And guess what? That was just the recipe that the Lakers gave to play Indiana, because they've been torched since then by every big man. So nothing against Anthony Davis, but our defense is looking good. I know it's early Holiday for three. Bang, let's go. Is it a timeout yet? Lakers, you better call one soon. Oh, can we talk about coach?

Coach Murph:

Joe.

Podcast Paul:

Can we? Can we put to bed the timeouts now?

Coach Murph:

Yeah, exactly.

Podcast Paul:

I get a lot of tweets and texts about that. Oh, coach Joe, look at, you did another timeout, another timely timeout. It's like, yeah, it's his second year. Calm down, coach Joe. Jalen Brown for three bang. He has not missed. He has not missed and he got fouled. Four point play.

Coach Murph:

Wow, awesome.

Podcast Paul:

Dude, he has not missed a shot. Jalen Brown is opened up his Christmas presents today. Man.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, they look good this is a strong team. We have them all day.

Podcast Paul:

I'm going to probably make some hot chocolate a little bit here, yeah, a little bit more cozy, yeah a little bit more cozy.

Coach Murph:

Turn to the fire. Yeah, of course we're looking for this game.

Podcast Paul:

Who is not enjoying their Christmas right now?

Coach Murph:

We'll come back in the end of the end of the.

Podcast Paul:

So while we get a little pause here though, I wanted to talk about the other games. So I just saw that Jimmy Butler is not showing up for Christmas Day. He had a little coal in his stocking, but we got 76ers heat after this. I don't know. I don't know, ted, we'll see. We know, jimmy Butler, I don't know if you're beating those 76ers, and then the late game is Maverick's sons. But is that another news flash? Sun stink.

Coach Murph:

No.

Podcast Paul:

No All right.

Coach Murph:

They haven't had Bradley Beal the whole year. He's had that back spine injury, so he's, once they're healthy. D Booker's out of his mind right now. Kd, what is one of the top scores in the league right now. They're both strong, they're both 14 and 14, but they're going to be fine. They're going to make it a playoffs.

Podcast Paul:

Well, the heat have this rookie. Captain Morgan, captain's Morgan or whatever, the pirate guy.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, he's one of the rookie of the year.

Podcast Paul:

I mean he's on his my chat, home bird, home grand, no one's chat, but he's right there, man.

Coach Murph:

So the salt is up 12 zero against the Lakers. Right now we're looking good, you know. Merry Christmas everybody. I guess we'll just come back in the fourth, I mean we can talk a little bit.

Podcast Paul:

No, no, no, no, we're watching the first quarter dude, we're watching the whole first quarter. Yeah, yeah, then we'll come back, we're staying here, folks Just talking. There's going to be some. We're going to see how many shots in a row Jaylen Brown can hit. Come on, man, he hasn't even turned the ball over yet.

Coach Murph:

We will.

Podcast Paul:

We'll stay here. It's zero turnovers. There's only been a minute left in or a minute gone in the game, but we'll take it. Yeah, it's been a good week for the green. I'm proud of them because they are on track right now to have. I don't even think the 2008 Celtics at home had a better home record this far in the season.

Coach Murph:

Right, I mean, I know it's still early, but we had a great record last year at the beginning of season two.

Podcast Paul:

But at home 14-0?

Coach Murph:

Oh no, no, no, that's what I'm talking about. We haven't lost since last year. It's actually like they haven't lost since March last year, so we're really like 21-0 or something we haven't lost at home since last March.

Podcast Paul:

Let's hit on the point you just made though.

Coach Murph:

Yeah.

Podcast Paul:

Because I did hear that stat earlier before. They were 21-6, right, where they were just playing well, were happy with the zing, all this stuff, and so they're better than last year. And then some are reminding me that their record last year was 21-6. It was the same as last year and I was like, oh, but here's the difference, coach, here's the difference. Just one week ago almost because it was a Monday night game against Golden State, right, was it? This past Monday? They played, so last year when they were 21-6 or around that record, that's when they went out West as well and they played Golden State. But here was the difference Last year they lost to Golden State, kind of like they did this year, but then they lost their next four out of five.

Podcast Paul:

It totally hopped their balloon dude Took the air out of them, and that's why I was so upset when they lost. I'm like here we go again. Is what I was thinking Wrong? Because so far since they've lost, they're not happy about that. And they steamrolled the Kings who were playing good, they steamrolled the Clippers, your Clippers, and now so far. No, it's early Christmas day, but they're looking good here. So that's where I'm excited. Is that? I'm okay if they have a bad loss, if they come back and win the next three or four. They didn't do that last year.

Coach Murph:

Last year. They're a completely different team and identity. With Drew and Zing we're completely different.

Podcast Paul:

Yep, oh, look at the Jalen Brown Zing connection. It's amazing. Look at that. Pass to the Zing from Jalen Brown. They love each other.

Coach Murph:

So we're looking good, man. This is a championship team.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, look at this, they also have the Christmas look. They have the Christmas look, True holidays. We're in the red bandana with the green and the white, and so is Zing Zing's wearing the just like I don't know what is that? An elbow pad, what do you call that? Or an armband? Anyway, they got the Christmas look.

Coach Murph:

A sleeve baby, a sleeve. Thanks, man. We big shout out to our bench with Sam and Peyton and Luke and Brissette and a Delano Bantanton. So we haven't seen much from Slee. Lamar Stevens got some time in there he's out. Jd Davidson.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, the king can't finish.

Coach Murph:

We've had a great bench, like this new kid, drew Peterson got some time the other last game, but we have Jordan Walsh when he gets called up and played. We have a solid, solid bench. Man Peyton's been playing real well.

Podcast Paul:

Jalen Brown missed. Oh, turns out he's not going to make every shot today. Oh, the king goes coast to coast. All right, let's turn it into more of a game. That's okay, oh, 14.

Coach Murph:

Well before.

Podcast Paul:

So we get about seven minutes or so left in this first quarter in feeling cozy, feeling just very merry. It's Christmas and I'm waiting. I'm waiting for my big Christmas gift. What is?

Coach Murph:

that? What do you want? A quiz, a quiz? You want a quiz, a live quiz. Well, a Christmas quiz. It's the very, very J2M's Christmas quiz. The NBA Christmas quiz.

Podcast Paul:

Wow, I'm getting everything I want for Christmas.

Coach Murph:

I was gonna bid and say we didn't have a quiz, just to make it a little shit.

Podcast Paul:

I was gonna be like, oh, I didn't get everything I wanted. It's.

Coach Murph:

December 25th 2023, with just two murses talking hoops the journey to June. I am Coach Murph. Podcast Paul AKA Prediction P Puerto Rican P. Also, we got these prophetic P podcast. Paul, are you ready for?

Podcast Paul:

the NBA.

Coach Murph:

Christmas day quiz, let's do it yeah. All right, here we go.

Podcast Paul:

I'm Russian one.

Coach Murph:

Question one the NBA, the National Basketball, has been hosting a Christmas day since its founding, true or false? Since day one, they've been since 19.

Podcast Paul:

That would be ain't false, correct.

Coach Murph:

Ding, ding, ding, oh yeah. I came prepared on my Christmas pod In 1946, the BAA was created, and then it turned into the NBA. And then I'll just fast forward. In November 1st 1946, the first NBA game was played. Do you know those two teams? Do you could name one of those teams? Do you remember we did this long ago.

Podcast Paul:

Oh yeah, it's the Syracuse Strongman and the I forget it was someone the Ronald Huskies in the New York Knicks.

Coach Murph:

I was close. Oh, there's your.

Podcast Paul:

Knickerpocker, I was close. Oh, there's your.

Coach Murph:

Knickerpocker there for the first game. So in 1947, though the next year, the NBA just held its first Christmas day game. When was it? In 1947, it was the first day, christmas day game, so the next year it was held on the 25th.

Podcast Paul:

But then they just didn't play it for a while, right, Didn't the last commissioner? He didn't like games on Christmas day.

Coach Murph:

Right, yeah, there was a stint of that.

Podcast Paul:

Is that part of the quiz Question two?

Coach Murph:

why was the 1998 NBA Christmas day canceled the first ever Christmas day game that was canceled?

Podcast Paul:

1998?.

Coach Murph:

Why was that?

Podcast Paul:

Huh, wow was canceled.

Coach Murph:

I'll give you a hurricane, lockout, an influenza outbreak or the Gulf War Strike, strike here, Ding, ding, ding. Two for. Two.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah.

Coach Murph:

Lockout. The NBA experienced a lockout in 1998, the third in its history. All right, and they only had about 50 games that season. Another lockout occurred in 2011.

Podcast Paul:

That the year, the first Can't have your Christmas or your NBA Celtics jammies on and not get the quizzes right.

Coach Murph:

Yep, too cozy today. There you go, that's where you get these questions wrong. Good job, man. I haven't had my hot cocoa yet. Question three there's 10 questions. Yeah, the NBA day game and the NBA featured the Providence steam rollers.

Podcast Paul:

Oh wait, wait, I'm sorry to pause. No pause, Jason Tatum, this year has been going strong to the hoop as a man.

Coach Murph:

Big boy pants.

Podcast Paul:

Like there's none of this finesse stuff anymore, man.

Coach Murph:

Yep.

Podcast Paul:

Sorry. I decided to say that because we're crushing them right now, dude Little update the red Six minutes left in the half or, excuse me, the first quarter 21 to 10. All right, continue.

Coach Murph:

What's that question again? Question three the first Christmas day game in the NBA featured the Providence steam rollers who was their opponent at the game held at Mask and Square Garden. Pretty soon.

Podcast Paul:

The New York Nicarabaccos.

Coach Murph:

Ding, ding ding. Yes, three for three, that one's a pretty easy one.

Podcast Paul:

Oh man, what a Christmas miracle.

Coach Murph:

The next 189.87 in that game, in the Christmas game. All right, and the question four who was the first NBA player to score 60 points in a Christmas day game, doing so in a contest between the Knicks and the Nets? Bernard King and I didn't even give you the question one, oh, so what? A P dude Ding, ding, ding Wow.

Podcast Paul:

Hey, but it's about the center. He said Knicks a lot of points. Bernard King, that dude could score man.

Coach Murph:

He could score a bunch of things he didn't even need the four, it was Bernard King.

Podcast Paul:

He's a he's a Forgotten man in the NBA. Lore Gary Western Julius.

Coach Murph:

Irving, and you didn't even need the multiple choice.

Podcast Paul:

New Jersey Nets.

Coach Murph:

Well played, wow, four for four is a zone. What a day, christmas miracle. Here we go. Which of the following question five participated in an NBA Christmas day game as both a player and a coach? Pat Riley, red, bill Jackson or Bill Walton One more time Player and coach?

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, you know who are the coaches again.

Coach Murph:

Pat Riley, Red Arbeck, Bill Jackson or Bill.

Podcast Paul:

Walton, oh, bill Walton, I'm gonna go. Pat Riley, oh, ah, Matt, matt, matt, ah, a little cringe. Sorry, ringe.

Coach Murph:

The correct answer was Bill Jackson.

Podcast Paul:

Ooh, okay, that was my second choice.

Coach Murph:

New York Nixon to New Jersey Nets. Well, bulls Lakers. In fact, he was a fixture as a coach on the Christmas day game, participating in every game but two, from 90 to 2011. Anyway, he's the fastest NBA coach to win 1,000 games, doing so at the game on Christmas day in 2008. And well, I guess us man the next person's.

Podcast Paul:

Speaking of coaches, has any coach their first two years out of the gate had a better win loss record than coach Joe?

Coach Murph:

That's a great question. I think it's. He's not number one. I think there's. Steve Kerr is probably up there, I remember like with him, with Golden State. That's a good question. We're gonna find out that for that and the fourth.

Podcast Paul:

Oh yeah, we'll have another Christmas quiz coming.

Coach Murph:

We'll figure out the end of that one. We'll see.

Podcast Paul:

So what else we got for the Christmas quiz? Anything else.

Coach Murph:

It's going man, all right. Number six, which Orlando coach, magic coach, was fine in 2009. After saying that the NBA should do away with the Christmas day game Stan Van Gundy. Holy moly, doesn't mean it again.

Podcast Paul:

Ding, ding, ding what I love, my Christmas NBA. Why do?

Coach Murph:

you think I'm doing a live pod man, I gotta get these wrong, remember all that yeah. Wow. White Howard man, number seven, 2004,. A huge showdown was anticipated at the NBA Christmas day game between two players who had previously been teammates. Who are they? 2004.

Podcast Paul:

Can I say that again One more time? On that question, I'll give you the multiple choice. I'm a little distracted 2004,.

Coach Murph:

a huge showdown was anticipated at the NBA Christmas day game between which two players who had previously been teammates. I'll give you the multiple choice Bird Johnson, magic, larry, steve Nash and Robert Ory-Hory, michael Jordan, byron Russell or Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, I don't think Shaq left yet. Who was the one right before that?

Coach Murph:

Jordan Byron, russell Larry Berger.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, no, no no, steve. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go Steve Nash, robert Ory.

Coach Murph:

Wamp, wamp, wamp. That's not. Nobody's gonna care about that, dude. Oh, everybody cared about Kobe. It's Kobe Shaq yeah.

Podcast Paul:

Really the last year? Wow, I didn't think they were.

Coach Murph:

They were ex-players. They were done after that year. Yeah.

Podcast Paul:

Uh-oh, hachi Morrigan trouble.

Coach Murph:

Yeah.

Podcast Paul:

What did he do? He did a bad thing.

Coach Murph:

He took off his mat.

Podcast Paul:

He did a bad bad.

Coach Murph:

Saltics looking good oh he hurt Jaylen Brown.

Podcast Paul:

Jaylen Brown went up for the dunk, went up for the dunk, oh, and he fell in he also scored Paul Caspar.

Coach Murph:

What do you got over there? Score, Score in time of the game over there. What do you got? We're at commercial right now.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, let's get our update right now.

Coach Murph:

Yeah.

Podcast Paul:

So we got it is 32,. That would be your Boston Celtics 16 Lakers, two minutes and 45 seconds left. Most importantly though, coach, we've only had one turnover.

Coach Murph:

That's what I'm talking about.

Podcast Paul:

They got us by one on the boards but we're holding our own with the boards. But that looks good If they can get through the first quarter with only one or two. I mean we've had games that they've had 10 turnovers in the first quarter.

Coach Murph:

They've had two, and it's only the first quarter. No no one, one, oh, you see two. They have two turnovers, dude, they have two Did they up their stats. Player stats.

Podcast Paul:

Gotcha. Okay, I didn't get up to anything 68%.

Coach Murph:

They're shooting from the floor. It's only the first quarter, but it's awesome.

Podcast Paul:

Hey, speaking of Lakers, I do see for them and he's been out for a while. Remember Gabe Vincent? Can't forget Gabe Vincent. Yeah, yeah, yeah Torched us with the heat in the Eastern Conference finals last year. Mr Little shout out to Gabe Vincent has he played with the Lakers yet this year?

Coach Murph:

Yes, yes, yes.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, it says right here. Estimated return date February 23rd.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, he played in the beginning, I think so I'm jury. Yep, anthony Davis is strong. He's got 10 points right now from the Lakers and Jaylen's leading us, but that's all with nine. But everybody's right there Tatum's seven, singer six, holiday six, d-wide four. Looking good man.

Podcast Paul:

Let's finish up this quiz. All right, let's finish up the quiz, and then we'll take a little break and head back for the fourth.

Coach Murph:

Yep, that's what we're doing All right cool Eight number eight.

Podcast Paul:

Let's do it.

Coach Murph:

Which of the following players is not on the triple double list for the NBA Christmas Day games? Are you ready?

Podcast Paul:

Is not on the triple double list. Yeah, okay, you mean triple double list for the Christmas day NBA Christmas Day games, got it?

Coach Murph:

This is just the Christmas Day quiz.

Podcast Paul:

It's Christmas, man, I brought you by Coach Merrick Christmas.

Coach Murph:

In the coaches corner. Ooh, I need some bongo, so you bring one.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, it's Christmas, man, break out the fucking bongo. Always gonna have a nice holiday beat going on.

Coach Murph:

LeBron James, John Havoczek, Oscar Robinson or Larry Bird, which did not.

Podcast Paul:

One more time with that list.

Coach Murph:

Bron Havoczek, oscar Robinson or Larry Bird.

Podcast Paul:

We just heard LeBron's name in 18 Christmas days, so he must have had a triple double. I'm gonna have to say Havoczek, Larry man. Oh, I almost went with the legend, but I didn't think you'd do that to me.

Coach Murph:

Throwing a bad stat for Larry. I know some of the bad stat, nobody would do it. Oscar Robinson did it four times in the six months.

Podcast Paul:

Oh yeah, he was no longer in triple double Ron did it in 2010. He was Mr Triple Double. That was actually 67.

Coach Murph:

Yep, yep, yep, All right, number nine man.

Podcast Paul:

They were just showing the beach of LA. That doesn't look very Christmassy.

Coach Murph:

It's okay. So yeah, so right now real time, Yep.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, that was a bad call. Was that a? Oh no, it was overturned. Yeah, he did not get fouled on that dunk, he just missed the dunk. Oh, what's that guy's name? Kata Kata, Number 88? What's?

Coach Murph:

his name. Oh yeah, it's 87 and 88 for Boston.

Podcast Paul:

What's his name? He's making plays again, kata. Yeah, yeah, yeah, kata, I gotta know my guys. Bench, you talked about the bench. You did the shout out for the bench.

Coach Murph:

It's Kwayta anemious. It's anemious Kwayta.

Podcast Paul:

We're gonna do a quick pause on the quiz just because our bench is in. Right now. We got Richard Sam Houser Kata, that's what I'm calling him. I'm gonna get quotes for that. Not knowing his name.

Coach Murph:

And.

Podcast Paul:

Big Al and Big Al oh Sam for three Nah.

Coach Murph:

He's either on or off, man. No, he's been big this year. And so as of recent big man Kwayta, number 88.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, he played for the Lakers.

Coach Murph:

He played for the Lakers last year, yeah yeah, and number 77, stevens also has been Lamar Stevens you know this is actually gonna be an interesting matchup because AD knows him. Yeah.

Podcast Paul:

Kata, he's gonna go right after him and he just did right there and got fouled. Kwayta, that's gonna be an interesting matchup. Anyway, just the bench dude yeah. All right, what do we got to finish?

Coach Murph:

off for those man. All right, let's finish it up. All right, and we were right where we were On question, believe nine? Yeah, which of the following players was the first to grab 36 rebounds in an NBA Christmas Day game? Shaquille O'Neal oh, I was gonna give it no. Oh, wilt, wilt, yes, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, 13.

Podcast Paul:

You said the first, I don't know what I was thinking. Yeah, I got a shack, crazy there.

Coach Murph:

36 rebounds 1961 versus the Knicks.

Podcast Paul:

And, by the way, my prediction of them making a big deal about that ban, or they didn't show it once, so I have to do a correction.

Coach Murph:

My first correction Don't show it at halftime, I bet oh yeah, yeah, yeah, don't correct yourself yet.

Podcast Paul:

No, we'll come back in the fourth to see if it happens.

Coach Murph:

Last, question's perfect for the first quarter All right. Nba teams that play on Christmas Day have never been allowed to add festive seasonal adjustments to the uniforms. True or false False? The correct answer is false False.

Podcast Paul:

Well done on this quiz, paul oh man, I'm going to get such a nice cup of cocoa, lots of whipped cream, extra whipped cream. I deserve it.

Coach Murph:

So I'm nice and cozy for the fourth quarter.

Podcast Paul:

I'm going to come in. Come in for the fourth. Looking good man.

Coach Murph:

Awesome.

Podcast Paul:

We got about under a minute left and then we'll sign off and come back to watch our green finish this thing out, man. But right now, 11 point lead. Oh, sam, he's not feeling it yet. It's OK, big L, uh-oh Finish. See my big thing. With just any team, you got to finish the quarter. Dude, they're not finishing the quarter right now it's our bench. Yeah, 9-0 run right now by the Lakers in the last two and a half minutes.

Coach Murph:

I mean, look at that, I like this quater. It has presence in the paint. He's big man, it's good.

Podcast Paul:

Oh boy. It's all good in LA, richard for three Nope, not a good end to the quarter, that's OK. All right, let's finish it up here, wrap it up, hold on, hold on, no, ok, yeah, hey, we're on the road. Good first quarter.

Coach Murph:

Real quick. Before we wrap it up, give me the stat.

Podcast Paul:

So your favorite stat how many turnovers?

Coach Murph:

Only two.

Podcast Paul:

All right.

Coach Murph:

Yep Stats and rebounds. I mean the stats and rebounds. Turnovers and rebounds are my favorite statistics and we're looking good with just two turnovers and they have us on rebounds. They're 12 and we have nine, so that's it All right man, we're going to sign off for a little bit. We'll see you guys at the end of the fourth.

Podcast Paul:

We'll be in for the fourth, taking you home, and we'll chat then, man.

Coach Murph:

Little sound effect for our. Something, something cool for our oh yeah, it's always cool. Our reentry into the fourth. All right people, all right folks. See you in a little bit yeah.

Podcast Paul:

All right, coach, we are back on our Christmas Day special. We left each other. After the first quarter I was feeling all cozy and comfy and all of a sudden I wasn't cozy anymore, man. Second quarter wasn't so good. After we get off the pod, man, it made me a little nervous. But here we are, heading into the fourth. We had a better third quarter right Up by nine points Back to what we were talking about a lot when we were last on in the first quarter turnovers, they only got five. They had two after the first quarter. Going into the fourth, they only have five. We love that number. How about rebounds? How are we doing with rebounds, coach?

Coach Murph:

It's 37, 34. They got us by three, but they were up 10. That was the only factor, so we slid the margin there.

Podcast Paul:

All right, and back to me hating on the Lakers. Only reason I do that is because Anthony Davis doesn't show up in big games. Well, I call Christmas Day a big game. He's shown up, so golf clap for you, anthony Davis. You're looking good so far, but this game is not over. We're in the fourth quarter. Folks, that's right. You're watching a Christmas Day matinee special with podcast Paul Coach, murph, celtics Lakers going into the fourth quarter. It's a close one and you're going to see our reaction live. Does it get any better than a Christmas gift like this for our J2M fans?

Coach Murph:

No, I think not, they'll be hearing our reactions, they'll see our reactions one day soon, because, like I say, these aren't radio.

Podcast Paul:

These aren't radio faces.

Coach Murph:

These faces are for TV.

Podcast Paul:

I've been talking about how we're doing a live pod of people that are like it's great, a live stream, right. I'm like I don't know how to do that, so it's live for me, but whatever.

Coach Murph:

Live stream on Instagram. I don't know how to do.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah. We'll figure all that out, that's later on, oh man, but hey, all that matters is we're live, you and me, coach, watching this thing. This is real time, our reaction, our passion for the game. Hey, before we jump in because we know it's going to be a tight fourth and it's all going to be about us getting into this you got to throw another little coach's quiz on me.

Coach Murph:

Coach's quiz. Let's do it.

Podcast Paul:

Maybe a surprise. Maybe a surprise, oh a little bit later Maybe All right, we'll see, but we had a good Christmas one to start off.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, we had a Christmas. I didn't mean to put you on the spot. You think I have all these quizzes loaded up ready. We just did one, dude.

Podcast Paul:

I did have like five quizzes last time. Well, something might come out of a no-mer.

Coach Murph:

No, I got something lined up.

Podcast Paul:

Well, we'll see how this game goes, man, I mean, this is I just want to talk about the bench man.

Coach Murph:

Like I don't hear about the Nuggets bench, but they had 59 minutes, I think. The bench, they had no boards, the bench had no boards. So that's the thing about the Nuggets this year, their bench.

Podcast Paul:

You know what, when I had a little time during half time, I jumped on the Twitter, since I got my computer open here during the game. I don't usually have my computer open during the game, but I went on that. The old Twitter. Ooh, coach Kerr not happy.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, he's, he's disgusting.

Podcast Paul:

The NBA is disgusting the way the referees ref the games. They don't let you play. He was just complaining and moaning about how the reps buy into the players and they can't play defense, and how there was too many free throws. Oh, there's Jaylen Brown, see. Ok, I do want to mention this going into half time. I much rather this be on TNT than ESPN. Sorry, steven A and Kendrick Perkins. God, they're annoying Because all they're doing is bitching about the Celtics shooting too many threes. Well, guess what? The reason why the Lakers are up is they're shooting 50% from three. Welcome to the NBA dude Right Make or miss league. But he was going. Steven A was going on this whole rant about how the Lakers or the Celtics aren't going to win a championship because they shoot too many threes. Them and everybody else.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, exactly, yep, there is definitely too many threes shot this and this and this game and this and this league. Let's see how many we got tonight.

Podcast Paul:

We got another. Another runs sung hero on this Christmas day Got a new nickname 35.

Coach Murph:

What's that?

Podcast Paul:

Timely Timeout Joe.

Coach Murph:

Timely Timeout Joe he's.

Podcast Paul:

Had two Timeout, joe he's had two, two runs by the Lakers being shut down by a timeout from Coach.

Coach Murph:

Joe. So we shot 35 threes and hit 12. So it's 34%.

Podcast Paul:

We've seen worse.

Coach Murph:

A lot. Oh yeah, they had like 63 is one game I'm like all right, we got 11 minutes to go.

Podcast Paul:

We're up by 10. Oh and, by the way, I talked a lot on the first half of this part about hot cocoa, so I had to go get some, and I'm so glad I did, because a minute I did that I felt so zingy inside and that third quarter was all about poor zingas.

Coach Murph:

By the way, 24 points, 10 boards, no zing, no ring.

Podcast Paul:

It's all of this oh no, A Jalen Brown turnover.

Coach Murph:

Sorry, we're waiting for that. So yeah, we got 11 minutes about left. Yeah, I know.

Podcast Paul:

I guess we have a little bit of a delay. That makes it what's yours? I have 10 minutes and 38 seconds.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, we're off 20 seconds. All right, that's OK, you see.

Podcast Paul:

LeBron with the ball, because he usually has a ball for like 50 seconds anyway.

Coach Murph:

Oh, welcome back to the merry block party Boston block party. We're watching the Celtics. Oh, Richard.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, I wanted to throw out a Pacific P, so bad, right there.

Coach Murph:

Yeah. And is it still a hundred ninety to ninety two right.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, now the turnover dude. That's two fourth quarter turnovers up. They got it right back. Pacific P out to holiday. Back to Sam Hauser for the three.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, why don't you just go ahead and be the sportscaster right now? It's fourth man All the game.

Podcast Paul:

Let's go. Lebron, nothing. Yeah, we've seen that commercial with the big guy from Dallas. What's his name? Bobon Boba. What's that guy's name? He's to be on Dallas. And now it's a commercial where he's an announcer and he's like Duba, duba, duba, duba, shoot, duba, duba, duba.

Coach Murph:

Shoot.

Podcast Paul:

You've seen that, yeah.

Coach Murph:

He's a big.

Podcast Paul:

What's his name? He's a big giant guy, george, george, boba, boba over something. But Boban, boban Something, boban, whatever. Let that one go. We're two into this game. Pacific P.

Coach Murph:

He got it.

Podcast Paul:

Let's go. Peyton Pritchard he's leading the offense right now.

Coach Murph:

Let's see him call the game now.

Podcast Paul:

We got Sam big Sam out to holiday Holiday shoots and he misses.

Coach Murph:

Lakers got the ball.

Podcast Paul:

Eight minutes and 50 seconds to go in this game. Christmas Day. Welcome everybody. I know you're excited, I know. Oh, we got Big LeBron James Back in town. Holiday, trying to be a man Passes it out. Ok good, he missed. Thank goodness, because I was making fun of this Prince character. So in the beginning, if you guys remember, oh, holiday to big L, big L, baby Big L, we're up by 11. Eight minutes to go. So remember, when we were doing the starting lineups and the Lakers starting lineups, I came up and I made fun of that guy, prince. I'm like who's that Prince guy? He's only knocked down like 10 threes today.

Coach Murph:

Oh no, he can play. Man LeBron misses the layup.

Podcast Paul:

All right, holiday's got the ball, don't you always feel so nice and relaxed? I was there for three. Sam's been off today. Oh, but JB with the follow and he's fouled Boom.

Coach Murph:

There we go.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, that's another one, folks. So here we are Christmas cozy, christmas Coach Murriff podcast. Paul and I'm just watching this game podcast and having a great old time Watching Jaylen Brown knocking down shots he's had a great West Coast trip and then we get off the podcast Because we said we're coming back for the fourth and the minute. We got off Jaylen Brown, lebron James a lot and he goes down and it looks like he was out For good. But no, he's back, baby, he's back. Tough, tough man. Oh, mr Freeze, we're used to that, all right 107.94.

Coach Murph:

Celtics up yeah, let's go and keep going. Yeah, let's go Lots of time folks, Lots of time, by the way we're 20 for 25.

Podcast Paul:

At the free throw line they're 12 for 17. We got more free throws. Interesting Dude. I love how holiday is always coming in deflecting. Oh blah, they just call this foul on LeBron James and I don't think it was. Are we going to get the green light special?

Coach Murph:

Oh boy.

Podcast Paul:

Let me see that again. I'm going to get the collision with Jaylen Brown and LeBron James.

Coach Murph:

I just talked about.

Podcast Paul:

Oh and, by the way, while we have this little break, foul on LeBron is a free throw correction. It's a real correction. They did not bring up the end season flag. Once We've moved on.

Coach Murph:

We've moved on. Yeah, it's the first year. I'm happy for a couple of those two-way players that they got, like they got a hundred, they get a half a million a year or something, or there was two or five. They double their salaries From when. That was fun and LeBron made sure all the kids got some money. All of those guys were trying to get that money yeah.

Podcast Paul:

LeBron was like, don't you worry, it made it exciting as we talk. Oh, todd looking smooth going to the hoop man, he's had a bunch of blocks today Just doing Derek White things. He's potential all star 109.96.

Coach Murph:

109.96.

Podcast Paul:

109.96. Looking good. Ooh, vanderbilt, the other guy made fun of him. He just got a layup. All right, here we go. We got six and a half minutes to go 109.98. Everybody enjoying their Christmas? Oh well, you better, because Derek White just got another layup. I mean time out time for the Lakers. No, that wasn't smart. Oh, look up his stats right now. How's Derek looking? Todd? All right, All right guys. 16 points.

Coach Murph:

Eight assists Reeves doing his thing.

Podcast Paul:

I like Reeves. A kid can play man All right. 111.100. Derek White is leading the offense. The Zing is in Tatum Brown in holiday. It's our starting five right now. It was six minutes ago. They're playing a win man.

Coach Murph:

They're playing a game of the day.

Podcast Paul:

They're playing a game of the day. There was a little boy who was on the bench. There was a little boy who was on the bench. You know, I was on the bench and he was the coach. This is so nice, but I got to say Never podcasted during a game Christmas.

Coach Murph:

I was feeling great in the minute we got off, but it feels so great.

Podcast Paul:

Feel better again. Good to see you, man. Corrections there. It's okay, we all make mistakes.

Coach Murph:

Which is corrections.

Podcast Paul:

All right. So let's see what we got. Let's let's look at some stats Real time.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, they just can't do it with just LeBron and Nad. I mean they have a couple of good players with Reeves and Branson.

Podcast Paul:

We're tied for rebounding, now at 41 a piece.

Coach Murph:

Yeah, it all comes down to rebounds.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, I just got a real time text from Will Nice. You love Joe, always sending him positive vibes.

Coach Murph:

Oh, you did Time out Joe. Timely time out Joe.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, he's not a fan of Coach Joe. It's okay, all right, so that's good.

Coach Murph:

Hear about this rookie from the Golden State Warriors, Brandon Pudzimski.

Podcast Paul:

Oh yeah, what about him?

Coach Murph:

Pudzimski, he's starter.

Podcast Paul:

I know I watched him on Monday last against the Celtics.

Coach Murph:

Nobody starts with Kurds of rookie. But he's cool, he's just posted that two years ago at this time he's only getting garbage time. One year ago at this time, I wasn't on any draft boards. Five months ago, all I heard that was I was a bust Star of the year, out of the rotation. Now I'm starting for the best franchise in the NBA. I don't know about that Best franchise. I swear you know hashtag. If I can do it, you can too. Dream big Like my boy Caden for Granville Saint-Claire right.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, oh yeah, caden. What's going on with Caden? They're four and one.

Coach Murph:

He's doing all these Playing great defense. His numbers on offense aren't where he wants them to be, yeah, but that's okay. Killer defense he played on a D1. There's, like those eight schools, eight D1 schools after the sky. He played very well against and so I think they're four and one, they're three and one or four and one in Granville, so they're doing good.

Podcast Paul:

We're getting them on in January, right?

Coach Murph:

Yeah, we'll get them on. I want to have a big offensive game before we get them on.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, he will, but he hasn't broken out, we just put the vibes out just like for Joe, yeah, and I'm watching his games.

Coach Murph:

They have Granville basketball YouTube so I get to watch the games and so you can see him. You know he's about to break out. You can see the growth that's happening. You get just a new team, brand new. These guys are getting to know each other and they're just starting to gel now, just like any level. Yeah, Take some time. So we're about what Five minutes left here?

Podcast Paul:

I'm looking at Derek White pushing the ball up to big.

Coach Murph:

Alphor 3. I need some more. Oh, that was, oh, that was a.

Podcast Paul:

That was a, that was a. What was that? And that was just a replay, sorry. Hey, celtics have six players. Hey, six players and double figures for the green dude.

Coach Murph:

Oh yeah.

Podcast Paul:

Right oh here, we go Little JT turn around, Boom. Oh yeah, we're feeling it right now.

Coach Murph:

Go play for play, play for play. Okay, it is now 113.

Podcast Paul:

Boston, 100 Lakers, 5.5, 5 and a half. We'll call it 5.5 to go. Austin Reeves to AD to LeBron. It's basically those three guys right? Oh, LeBron, trying to, trying to back down, drew oh AD for the three. He knocks it down. Oh, and he did a too small on Derek White. He did it too small.

Coach Murph:

Awesome, get out of here. I love the too small move.

Podcast Paul:

Coach Murph:

Good D, you know, smart ball man look at this AD hits the three.

Podcast Paul:

Look at him Too small.

Coach Murph:

No, I didn't do it too small.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, he did more of one of these. That's one of those yeah. The.

Coach Murph:

IV-3 thing, the IV-3.

Podcast Paul:

I don't know what is that Me? I don't know what's going on All right. Lebron trying to back down. Holiday again, holiday's got LeBron. Lebron backing it down, trying to oh, he gives it to Borzegas. He just gives the ball to Zing in holiday.

Coach Murph:

Let's go Tell them, paul, tell them.

Podcast Paul:

Wow, that was Celtic's basketball right there. They just went full court Derek White to holiday to tate him for the slam baby. And now AD's backing down now On this. He's trying to take Zing. Trying to take Zing Backs him down, he hits it. Hey, anthony Davis is playing a game man. What does he? Got now 40 points. He's saying that.

Coach Murph:

Oh, the arm gesture is icing my veins.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, icing my veins. That makes more sense.

Coach Murph:

How to Google it.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, tate him inside again. They can't stop. Tate him right now dude, he's taking over. They cannot stop him. 117, 105, four minutes to go. Austin Reads for three. Nope, right to Jalen Brown. Here we go. Slow it down, guys. Come on, let's have a good offensive possession. Holiday to Derek White Trade a destiny. He's feeling it right now. Back to holiday. Those two guys are great. Holiday in for the layup, no problem, done One night. We're just this game's over.

Coach Murph:

They're closing us out Five minutes, 119, 105, three minutes 30 seconds, three minutes.

Podcast Paul:

Austin Reads down to LeBron oh, derek White, derek White on LeBron. Oh, he took Derek White there. Lebron backed him down, it's all right. 119, 117.

Coach Murph:

They have to have a complete blow, like complete breakdown. Well, they can't be trading baskets now, so we need to sell as far as the clock can play good deeds. No, no, no, no.

Podcast Paul:

I don't like it when they start playing slow, because then they just don't. No, no, no.

Coach Murph:

That's the same thing they need to play their games.

Podcast Paul:

They need to play their game. Man Todd to the hoop. Same with the ball. Oh, with the dunk, wow Ding. Poor Zengus.

Coach Murph:

Poor Zengus 121, 107.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, my Christmas is just feeling so much better.

Coach Murph:

Oh, the great Christmas. It was great already, or great.

Podcast Paul:

Great, oh my God, they're going to show that again. Oh, so LeBron goes up for the three and he didn't know what to do and he just gave the ball to Jaylen Brown. Jaylen Brown took it down. Well, the bronze run out of gas. Dude, that was hilarious.

Coach Murph:

Zengus only got 16 points.

Podcast Paul:

Yeah, this we just All right. So, man, what a difference. On this West Coast trip and I was trying to say that earlier, I'm going to bring it up again we have a little commercial.

Coach Murph:

I told you that, so the.

Podcast Paul:

Celtics undefeated at home but not playing so great on the road. So going into this road trip they were at, I think, 500., Maybe one game over. And then they go to Golden State. Same old D man, and it was the fourth quarter. They just melted down in the fourth quarter dude, yeah, so we already talked about it.

Podcast Paul:

but they went and they played the Kings back-to-back. Right, it was Golden State. Next night was the Kings. They wipe them out. Then they go down to the Clippers, beat them and then we're on our Christmas you know, miracle special here, seeing them just kind of roll the Lakers, but then the Lakers make it again. We gave away an 18-point lead. That's what we were complaining about. With Golden State we're up by 17 points.

Podcast Paul:

We gave away 18 points. You heard the halftime show, you heard Stephen A and them all. Oh, the Celtics, they stink at halftime, right, Because they gave up 18 points. Well, here's the difference this team is showing up in the second half, showing up in the fourth quarter, and they're making this West Coast trip a trip to remember, because now they're what? Three or four games over 500. Going back home on Thursday, dude, they got out rebounded 43 to 41.

Coach Murph:

I love that they came back. They were down 10 rebounds. The Lakers had 10 on us. They came back. See, they just played a better third and fourth on the boards and they only had seven turnovers. Man, that's huge. These guys are on the road during the holidays. It's Christmas.

Podcast Paul:

They're on the road and they're playing great. That's a great thing. They're on the road and they're playing great.

Coach Murph:

Let go of that whole Golden State game. Man I have. It was a bluff I have.

Podcast Paul:

That's what I'm saying In the moment it felt like it was last year again, and how wrong was I.

Coach Murph:

Wow, nope, oh yeah, yeah, this team, this is it, man.

Podcast Paul:

And dude, you see who we got at home on Thursday, so they have a nice rest After this day. I don't want to get ahead of myself. We're still watching this game Thursday, but after this game they don't play again until Thursday. Yeah, pistons In the garden against the pistons.

Coach Murph:

Pistons. I know they're bad, poor pistons, and we tend to not play well against teams at like.

Podcast Paul:

Last year Pistol.

Coach Murph:

That was last year exactly. We lost the pistons last year. Anyway, let's wrap it up, man. That's it. That's a blow to you, no, no, no, I wanted to.

Podcast Paul:

I'm not done.

Coach Murph:

All the way. No, no, no, no no.

Podcast Paul:

Too much good juju here. Okay, Teams aren't over yet. Okay, let's give it. Let's give it another minute or so. And I do want to talk about the next two games again. I know we hit him on earlier, but obviously we won't be on to talk about them. But you got the 76ers dude. Remember last year we were saying quiet Denver quietly doing their thing. Maybe the sixes are quietly doing their thing.

Coach Murph:

That team and B is nothing quiet. He's number one in the league is the scoring Leader man.

Podcast Paul:

So, yeah, that that'll be good, but they're probably gonna roll in that game and then you get the Maverick Suns, but in the in the West is it still a little quiz one more. I'm not looking at anything. My phones off. By the way before you do that, jason Tatum tonight 25 points, seven rebounds, six assists.

Coach Murph:

All right, I'm ready. So it's getting named to top five number one, two, three, four, five.

Podcast Paul:

He's in the teams points per game. Oh, we're doing players.

Coach Murph:

Yeah.

Podcast Paul:

Man.

Coach Murph:

I'm gonna go Joe well, joe L&B. Yep.

Podcast Paul:

Although, before we continue on that, don't we say this about him every time? This this time of the year, yeah? He always comes out of the gate strong and then by the playoffs, he's just run out of gas.

Coach Murph:

Gassens injured, same with a yeah, yeah, so we'll see, but yeah, having a great great Sitting down. He's done.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, that's it, man games over. Yeah, buddy All right, so two, mmm Shay Gilgis, what's his name, his number?

Coach Murph:

Okay, they gilded us, alexander is a ball, 30 points per game. I owe to see dude him in the Greek Great is number five. Okay, yes, 30 point eight to they both. All, right, sack no no, luca, okay, he's got almost 30.

Podcast Paul:

He didn't even. Let me guess he's rolling through this. He wants to get out of here.

Coach Murph:

He's had enough of this Christmas special. Who's number three?

Podcast Paul:

Maxi.

Coach Murph:

Told you before it to rent. Oh oh, we're at Scott 32. All right, those are the big dogs. All right, there we go. Man Rebalance per game. It was number one the Joker number two.

Coach Murph:

Number three the Frenchman. Oh, rudy, gourbet, Gourbet, sorry number four, it's a bonus, and number five and bead. When bead not only is a leader, that points, he's got 35 is of 11 boards per game.

Podcast Paul:

Podcast Paul:

Coach Murph:

Season start tournament star. Oh, halliburton right. Trey young, number two, the Joker number three. Oh yeah, luca's up there too, his body, okay, number four. And yeah, man fleet.

Podcast Paul:

Awesome and I'll do it, man. Well, hold on. You know what I love about that. Ending with that quiz coach. You know I love about that? Yeah, because as we, as we close this out and watch our Celtics as we just saw in the graphic there when ten out of the last Twelve went on Christmas Day in La La Land Stopping on that in season banner I'll see, I saw them do that. What's great about our team? Not one player is on that list. And you know why I like that? Because we spread the wealth.

Coach Murph:

There we go, buddy, spread the wealth, the all, the great, great team win.

Podcast Paul:

Oh, todd dunks it home to call it a night. Have a great Christmas night, everybody, but hey, take us out, man, take us out. As we're watching the clock roll on a one every Christmas to all and to all the good nights and a happy new year.

So let's embrace the virtues and let's rebuke our vices, just a couple once. You conk yourself Daily a little bit more each day. So embrace those virtues and let's rebuke them vices and be better versions of ourselves. There's too much comparison out there, so let's not compare, especially on social media. Put it down, like I said before, more strolling, less scrolling, but you can identify, identify. Don't compare and be the best version yourself. 2024, oh.
