Shoes Off Inside with MKT
Three trailblazing Asian American women in TV journalism and Hollywood join forces to rattle some cages and dismantle tired old stereotypes about race, age, sex and culture. Award-winning journalist May Lee and actresses Kelly Hu and Tamlyn Tomita (a.k.a. MKT) take on topics that aren't often discussed in the most open, authentic and, sometimes, hilarious way because they are unafraid to be fully themselves. They're all 50+ and fabulous so they got nothing to hide and they are beyond the point of caring about what other people think! So take your Shoes Off Inside and join MKT to engage, contribute, challenge and, most importantly, have fun! Lots and lots of FUN!
Shoes Off Inside with MKT
#50 - Cookie Activist, Jasmine Cho
It’s the holiday season and there’s no better way to celebrate than to bake delicious treats! Believe it or not, May, the woman who usually uses her oven as a shoe rack, has a tradition of baking Christmas cookies every year and in this highly unusual time of such anxiety and uncertainty, she wanted to share her love of holiday baking AND talk to someone who has made it her life’s mission to use the art of cookie making to educate, inform and inspire. Jasmine Cho, baker, author and founder of Yummyholic.com, creates some of the most incredible cookie portraits to bring the stories of prominent AAPI figures to life as well as help breakdown racial and ethnic stereotypes. That’s why Jasmine is widely known as the “cookie activist”!
