By doing today Everybody get up for Mr Amazing and today's Game of Traffic show Yo, we're going to talk about Yo, microsoft Xbox Coming back big time With their freaking awesome yo showcase, not a state of play.
Speaker 2:Showcase yes, the Microsoft 2024 showcase was amazing With the bomb, son the bomb, the best one since Xbox been around.
Speaker 1:We finally see some real games. You're damn skippy. So yo, mr Amazing. Before we go into the showcase, let's recap what was happening prior to the showcase. Mr Amazing, beginning of the year, playstation was outselling the Xbox Series X and S 3 to 1,. Mr Amazing, that happens when you have no games. That happens when you have no games and nobody cares about you. Exactly.
Speaker 2:And you're third to a system that's about almost 10 years.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so Nintendo Switch, mr Amazing. After that, mr Amazing, they laid off a hundred. Well, no, sorry, that'd be nice, it'd be a hundred, you know what I mean. That means bad, but over 1,900 employees in the vision, mr Amazing. Unfortunately, the following month, microsoft kept them rolling. Son. What game? Hi-fi Rush, hi-fi Rush, yep Pentium. What else, mr Amazing? What other game came out in February? No, they announced February. Grounded and Sea of Thieves went to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. And, mr Amazing, nintendo Switch? Yeah, and they did. Well, they put up some numbers and that's what. That's what they're looking for that?
Speaker 2:yo, microsoft, don't care about that. They're putting your system like yeah, we'll get exposure sure, but that's like we joked before. Microsoft too busy making toasters it's refrigerated, the focus on games they don't care and it's also put you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1:So also, microsoft kept kept on rolling with. On May 7th of this year, mr Amazing announced four studios closing. Arcade Austin closing that came out with Redfall was the biggest point. I was excited about it, me, you were excited about it, we were, but unfortunately the games suck.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it wasn't polished.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it wasn't polished. Tangle Gameworks studio, the game, the studio behind your High Far Rush Ghost Wide Talking, which I did not like.
Speaker 2:I didn't play that one.
Speaker 1:You beat it though, right, I bought it on PlayStation. Remember, they had the exclusive deal for like six months. Did you beat it? I beat it. It was not bad. If I had to rate it, I'd give it a six.
Speaker 2:Oh that's pretty low. Was it easy?
Speaker 1:That was not that hard. It was not that hard and it also made Evil Within.
Speaker 2:Evil Within okay.
Speaker 1:It was having many sequels since the last generation, wow, and a couple other studios Alpha Dog Studios, they got. Roundhouse Studios is dead. So, mr Mason, I mean thank God the studio shutdowns had ended. You know what I'm saying. So, mr Mason, what happened after that? We'll say, mr Mason, what game came out in May that posted a big hit.
Speaker 2:Starfield.
Speaker 1:In May, mr Mason, not last year. It is hellblade, oh hell, but wait too short game. A lot of people say visually look great, yeah, but wasn't hit that xbox thought it would be yeah, that's true so, mr mason, also, mr mason, damn it. The 360 store is closing, shut down that's right On. July 29th, they announced it.
Speaker 2:Microsoft's catching a lot of L's this year.
Speaker 1:Damn it, it's a damn shame.
Speaker 2:And plus what they're Talks also for Microsoft Not making games no more Becoming, I mean not making hardware Becoming solely a game. You know that's a rumor for a while, yeah yeah, that was a rumor, because they were doing so bad so it started catching heat. So that's more as Microsoft was catching.
Speaker 1:You know what I'm saying. Also, there's rumors About Game Pass prices going up. Especially, of course, that ain't rumors that's gonna happen.
Speaker 2:That ain't rumors, that's just they putting it out there To get the public awareness.
Speaker 1:Yeah rumors of Game Pass Is going up and especially With Call cold duty on there, like hold up, you're not paying that 70 bucks, yeah, that's gonna happen. So they're like yo, we gotta get that, we gotta get some money. So that's yo, mr Mason. But, mr Mason, there's some sunshine, that's happened.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I see the light.
Speaker 1:What day was that? June 9th was the showcase and the light has appeared yes sunshine is sunshine's rising, yes, eyes open up.
Speaker 2:Yes, this is the showcase everyone's been waiting for. Oh shoot, mr mazen, tell the people. Yes, I mean, how do they open up their show with their new acquisition of activision with what mich Michael Call?
Speaker 1:of Duty.
Speaker 2:Black Ops 6, which is going to be on multiple platforms still, but that's their.
Speaker 1:They own the rights now and it's on Game Pass.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so that's what's really intriguing that it's on Game Pass.
Speaker 1:But then will we raise the Game Pass.
Speaker 2:Yeah, of course they will.
Speaker 1:So they open up with that Happy holidays, we're raising the Game Pass prices too. Game.
Speaker 2:Pass day one. You can get your copy in October 25th and me personally, I think the game look amazing. It looks like it's take place right after around the Golf 4.
Speaker 1:I would say yes, Golf 4.
Speaker 2:So you know that looks pretty good and I think at launch they're going to have like expansion packs. They're going to have a whole bunch launching all at once at the release of the game, which they don't usually do. Those are usually DLC, so I guess they really Microsoft's really going in on this one. So that was a good look. So they, they, they first. You know they tease us with I shouldn't say tease us. They opened up with that to lead to a very good show, mike man.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but they said it takes like surprised call duty.
Speaker 2:Always, it's always uh, call duty ea games. They all take up a lot, man, but that's a lot though I forgot.
Speaker 1:Like gigabyte you mean megabytes, megabytes, sorry megabytes, but uh, but they were saying that included, like you said, a couple packs from uh warzone cold duty cold duty 2, some other stuff, and that's why it's so big. Yeah, the campaign looks really interesting yeah, it does.
Speaker 2:It does I mean I a Call of Duty For campaign mode guy, now that's what I play for. I can't do the mode I play and shout out to those who do Because I think it's amazing. I just I suck.
Speaker 1:He means he sucks.
Speaker 2:I suck at the call. I just can't. You don't want me on your team.
Speaker 1:I remember one time we were playing Call of Duty and you know Mr Mason on my squad and his kid was online. He killed Mr Mason. He said Mr Mason, ain't so amazing. I was like oh, I said, mr Mason, I'm going to avenge you, bro, and I got killed too.
Speaker 2:I do remember that day.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so that was funny. So, mr Mason, ain't there else that hits man. Let me go. Let me go. The game I wanted and you know I'm going to talk about the perfect dart game that looked good. That looked very good. That looked very good.
Speaker 2:That was a gameplay, though. Was it gameplay? It was gameplay. It was gameplay. I thought it was an engine. Okay.
Speaker 1:It was gameplay.
Speaker 2:The only thing with that they didn't give a lease day fast 26, probably early 2026 possibly, possibly, because usually for someone who doesn't say 2025, they just say it just says perfect art that's it. That's like baby so that doesn't look like an anytime soon kind of yeah, probably early 2026 yeah, but still the fact that it isn't working. We've been calling for that. That was surprising. Well, especially me. I was calling for that. That's the game.
Speaker 1:That's the game. I was looking more, I was more interested in seeing and getting the gameplay and, like I said, the shooting first part or third part of the shooting genre. It's like a dying thing because everybody's playing the Dark Souls type of games, the Kung Fu, you know, action games Like what's that saying? The game we need you to play? Which one On PlayStation? Rising and rolling Type of games now.
Speaker 2:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm big on that, so you know.
Speaker 1:So those are the things that's popping right now, and it's good to see A good shooter coming out.
Speaker 2:That is true.
Speaker 1:Go ahead, mr Maison Keep the hits. Keep them rolling, I think the Aviles coming out, yeah, but they didn't give a date. Another one. They didn't give a date for they didn't.
Speaker 2:No, they did not. To me, one of the biggest ones of the show was absolutely Doom the Dark Ages.
Speaker 1:Yo, you know, you know that's my, you know that's my ish.
Speaker 2:That was fire that, and I haven't played Doom in a while, but that one was fire.
Speaker 1:I never played the old school Doom. I played the old school Doom. I never played the old school. I played the new ones that came out. And you know what's funny, I bought the one on Xbox, oh yeah. So when they, like I said, I think I stated On the podcast that oh, from that's a Doom's gonna come on Xbox, I always bought it on Xbox. It didn't matter to me, it's like Whatever.
Speaker 2:You know so I used to play my Dooms on the PC, but Doom was always a great game for me.
Speaker 1:And that's coming to 2025.
Speaker 2:Yeah, no date, but 2025 is what we were told.
Speaker 1:Mr Amazing. What else, mr Fable Fable, that's your game, that's not my game.
Speaker 2:Fable looks good Another 2025 release but it looks like you're playing as a heroine a female character. Yeah, protagonist, so, so that looks pretty cool.
Speaker 1:A little bit different, but I think they might do.
Speaker 2:To choose a character, you could do a female or male, but you know what they said before.
Speaker 1:I don't know if you've seen the articles. She look ugly. Oh yeah, I remember that People complained about that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's just so stupid. I mean, it's a freaking Elf, whatever you want to call it Like. What do you want it to do? You want it to look like.
Speaker 1:Freaking Halle Berry for Lopez, Holly Berry, it's called Joe Hanson. They want to see that.
Speaker 2:Yeah that. But Faber looks good too, and it was a nice little trailer for it too.
Speaker 1:so but, mr Mason, I ain't going to cut you, I'm going to cut you off. Yes, sir, yo, gears of War, e-day, yeah but that's not coming out anytime soon.
Speaker 2:So that was very fun to see. We got to see our boy Marcus and Dom back together, so I look forward to that. One man I mean, it was an engine stuff.
Speaker 1:It was cinematic, it was like homecoming. Like yo Dom yo my brother Dom you back son.

Speaker 2:That was good so that's probably going to take the Microsoft community by storm. With that reaches, I think everyone's going to be playing that game when that comes out.
Speaker 1:Yeah, most definitely, because that game is a prequel to what happened in the first Gears of War.
Speaker 2:Yes, so I can't wait for that with the release. But was Judgment?
Speaker 1:Day a prequel. I think Judgment Day was actually. Judgment was a prequel, it was a prequel, so I don't know how they work in this.
Speaker 2:I'm like I don't know either. I was a little surprised by that too. But yeah, but that was definitely a prequel.
Speaker 1:Mr Amazing, Yo, yo yo.

Speaker 1:there Our favorite treasure hunter, Arca Indiana Jones.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yo, I do. It wasn't Harrison Ford that did it. No, I didn't know that. I thought it was him.

Speaker 1:So that's the thing we're looking forward to, but I think we'll see Day one on Game Pass coming out this holiday season. Yo, you think it'll come to PlayStation 5?
Speaker 2:Eventually.
Speaker 1:But not yet. They didn't give a date for it. They didn't give a date yet, but it did say on the bottom, game Pass and Microsoft. So I don't think it's coming out, but we know that Doom is coming out for PlayStation 5. Oh no, no, I don't think it's coming out, but we know that Doom is coming out.
Speaker 2:Oh, no, no that I know that I expect I'm not surprised by that.
Speaker 1:Because I'm surprised, because the Disney property like yo, I don't know Microsoft, you know the sales of Xbox. I'll be like nah, we got to put this on both systems. See and go from there. But we'll see. But it's on Steam. Mr Mazer, for this game, I hate her. Uh-oh. Microsoft Flight Simulator. I think we're buying it. Which one? Flight Simulator 2024. I think we're buying it, son.
Speaker 2:I was like that's one of the top-selling games. People sleep on that game. It's a selling game. I don't think it was a top-selling game.
Speaker 1:No, it's one of the top-. No, it sells, but it's not that top selling kind of game.
Speaker 2:Well, I mean it's not putting numbers like God of War or Gears of.
Speaker 1:War or Mario? No, not like that.
Speaker 2:I mean it's like a low key. That game sells a lot for it has a nice niche of fan base.
Speaker 1:I ain't gonna front. I was like yo school years I might get this. I kept telling you how good that game is.
Speaker 2:I played it before I might get this.
Speaker 1:I might get this.
Speaker 2:It's very realistic man. It's like the Gran Turismo flying. It's really good man. It's really good, I might get this.
Speaker 1:But Mr Amazing, a game that I'm interested. I'm disappointed it's not coming out this year.
Speaker 2:South Midnight was one of my favorite games on there too. That was top, maybe my top five, top four. Maybe. On there Stuff and I look good, and I told you off air that this is what Forspoken should have been.
Speaker 1:should have looked like oh yeah, forspoken was a half or half big game. Yeah, and, like I said, I blame Sony and Square Enix for allowing that game to come out. Yeah, this, this is garbage. I mean, anyway, I played that game. You'd be like, hold up, they did a horrible job with it no, they did but this one they nailed it, they nailed it and I hope you, we're comparing it, because it's a black woman, it's African American, it's African American character.
Speaker 1:But even forget that aspect, the game just generally the monsters, everything it looks better but, like I said, I played the game. Mom got game. Played the game. It was not well done.
Speaker 2:No, it wasn't it's not well done, but I'll give mom got game. She did say that the expansion was pretty good, so I'll say that, but I didn't play the game so I can't really waste myself, I'm not gonna waste my money on putting the expansion cause she said, she said the expansion.
Speaker 1:I'm not going to go into it.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:So it's no, no, I'm just being disappointed. The only thing I wish they would do If I was, if I had the property. Yeah, I will. I will try to make that a movie.

Speaker 2:Get some revenue out of that, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2:Oh, I think it's kind of cool that supernatural mystery game You're going between parallel worlds to to figure out who killed their best friend.
Speaker 1:It's just like a telltale game. Yeah, it is.
Speaker 2:I thought that was kind of cool, though I didn't like it because it's mysterious, so you got to try to figure out who killed your best friend, so I thought that was kind of cool actually.
Speaker 1:And they also get updates for Diablo.
Speaker 2:Yes, Diablo 4.
Speaker 1:Elder Scrolls Online, yep, starfield, starfield, fallout 76. You know what I'm saying. So very good, very good. Also, what else is coming out? Oh, warcraft, you said you was interested in that.
Speaker 2:I'm not a Warcraft. I never was a Warcraft guy. Yo, you said you was interested. No, nah, I was never. I think it's good because people love Warcraft. It's one of the number one circuits of all time, but that was never my thing.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it was amazing. Guess what? At the end of the show they made hardware announcements.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that was big.
Speaker 1:So they're going to come out with a disc list which I've been begging for. I've been begging for I don't know any other show that's been begging for this. I said Microsoft should never came out with a Series S I.
Speaker 2:I was okay with it.
Speaker 1:I don't know, because it's hold back developers. Damn it. Forget that this is.
Speaker 2:I'm the S's market. Literally I'm the S's market, but go ahead. Why are you the S's market? Because I'm okay with not having a more powerful Xbox One, because that's not my main system. So I'm the. I'm the market for the S.
Speaker 1:I'm going to ask you a question, well, after, after we finish talking about this segment right here. So they have a more powerful or they also have a Series X, a new one?
Speaker 2:All digital.
Speaker 1:No, the second one with that 2 terabytes.
Speaker 2:Oh nice, oh, you mean the black one.
Speaker 1:The special edition Galaxy Black.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I saw that one. That's kind of pretty cool.
Speaker 1:But available in select markets.
Speaker 2:I, yeah, yeah, yeah, I saw that one that was kind of pretty cool but available in select markets.
Speaker 1:I assume, available in the US, in the US, so that's the biggest market, the biggest market, so, and they're going to have a new Series S as well.
Speaker 2:So they didn't give them prices, though, no.
Speaker 1:Wait till it's holiday season for those prices.
Speaker 2:Holiday season, for sure, man, but that means if you're trying to get like an S, an X, you can probably find. You might be able to find one for like $180 $190.
Speaker 1:I think you might actually, but the new series S is one terabyte, it said oh, okay and it's white.
Speaker 2:I prefer the black one, though yeah, I usually prefer the black hardware. I feel like it has a little bit more.
Speaker 1:And plus it doesn't get dirty. Yeah, because you get the fingerprint, Like on my places?
Speaker 2:it probably has the fingerprint marks.
Speaker 1:Especially back in the days that you get the older system with that yellowish look after a while, because I got to change my. Dreamcast. I'm going to change the shelling and put a blue shell around it. That'd be cool Instead of that one. But I'm going to ask you a question what would you grade the?
Speaker 2:showcase. This showcase was very good. I'm going to give it a high one. I'm going to give it a. I would have gave it a 9. The reason I'm going to give it a 9 Is that Two things there wasn't a lot of game. Actual game trailers. Gameplay trailers yeah, that's why I can't give it a 9, but I'll give it an 8.5, 8.5.
Speaker 1:It wasa, I don't know. This is why I always grade it. How would gameplay Trails? You show the variety of games. We had a lot of that Right. The only thing they didn't have Probably didn't show no Forza game.
Speaker 2:Forza.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:I don't think Forza's due though.
Speaker 1:Every year. They used to have one Every year.
Speaker 2:That is true Contraband.
Speaker 1:They had no Contraband when that game was supposed to come out. Yeah, I forgot about that. Nothing about them. A couple of games. The next show the couple of games that I thought should have got released, which is kind of confusing.
Speaker 2:Indiana Jones and the Violet said how they're yeah, Indiana Jones is not released right now because that game's been pushing that game for what? Two years now?
Speaker 1:No, I the only time I remember that, and that's when it was last year, mr Maze, I don't remember, you don't?
Speaker 2:remember the whole map they first showed you Two years ago.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they showed you the map Two years ago and then they said nothing.
Speaker 2:But we all figured oh, Indiana Jones, so you got to have a release date by now.
Speaker 1:On that yeah, I was kind of confused by that.
Speaker 2:I'll give it a B+. Okay, you're right, same ballpark as me. Pretty much no sports titles. They didn't show no, no, but I don't think they're gonna show the sports titles Because of the simple fact that they can't. They're not gonna show you the new games Yet, so you know, Close to the release date, but they could've showed you at least the new EA College football game.
Speaker 1:Maybe EA wouldn't do it on their own terms.
Speaker 2:Probably. They're probably right. So it probably right. It was still good, even that. I don't know if you saw the Wu Chang Fallen Feathers. I actually thought that was kind of cool actually that's the monkey character that's the monkey character.
