THE SOUND OF SILENCE

"From the very first page of the Scriptures, we learn that our God is a God who speaks. God’s speech sets him apart from false idol gods who have a mouth but cannot speak. The responsibility of God’s people is to listen to their speaking God. Listening to God is a mark of righteous character and covenant faithfulness."

 -- "God speaketh once, yea twice,  Many times and divers ways God solicits and admonishes men; yet such is the dullness and security of their hearts, that they either do not, or will not, hear and understand them." (HALL)

Yes, the truth is out there but who really wants to know, who is listening, do we want to hear the truth, have we ever? Do not we not all just prefer status quo? Has not mankind has always rejected, hated and killed those who dared to break the sound of silence? Brethren, let us open our ears to hear even when it irritates us to the bone; may we never simply turn our collar to cold and damp; let us pray and think! Let us dare to speak the truth at the risk of being cancelled and/or hated and let us dare to pierce the darkness with our words even if they only echo through the wells of silence!
