Understanding your emotions Loneliness and Connection

NHS Practitioner Health

In this episode of understanding emotions, we talk about that common feeling of loneliness and connection. As we dive deep into the silent epidemic of our times – loneliness. In an age where we're more 'connected' than ever through screens and devices, why do so many of us feel adrift, yearning for genuine human connection? Join us as we explore the juxtaposition of loneliness and connection in the modern age. It's a common concern and presentation that we see in healthcare professionals, so we are going to talk about what it is.

Our podcast hosts Dr Zaid al-Najjar, Ruth Deighton and Simon Lyne have decades of experience treating mental health professionals and have come together to pool their experience of treating healthcare workers into this podcast. They have built a framework for practitioners to understand and process complex emotions and worries in their jobs and personal lives.

If you are struggling as a healthcare worker in England or Scotland, please get in touch with NHS Practitioner Health, we help health and care workers confidentially and for free. We especially help healthcare workers who have difficulties accessing confidential support elsewhere.
