Speaker 2:Hello, my friend, it is so good to be with you today. Happy Memorial Day. I hope everybody is having a wonderful weekend. It should be family time, get together a little barbecue, visit the family cemetery, pay some respects. We used to call it Decoration Day up in Iowa when I was growing up.
Speaker 2:Well, let me tell you who I am If you are new to this show. My name is Ron Myers and I have a show. It's called Get the Hell Out of your Life, and my goal is to bring you stories, stories that offer hope and encouragement, because what if you could hear a story that was so relatable to your story? But yet these people show a solution, some hope. What happened when they turned it all over to Jesus? So today's story is about Fred Grissom. Fred was a devil worshiper. Ooh, fred was a devil worshiper and he graduated up to the title of Luciferian. A very fascinating conversation, to say the least. And in the second part of our journey today, in the final thought segment, jesus made me do it. I think you'll enjoy it. But first let's talk with Fred. Fred, you really were a wild child. You were introduced to the darkness at a very young age, and not only did you end up dancing with the devil. You were running with the devil. True, very true, you were what they call a Luciferian.
Speaker 3:I started off as a devil worshiper, then became a Satanist and moved into being a Luciferian.
Speaker 2:Now, what age were you introduced to this? I started about 12.
Speaker 3:Oh wow Young. And then, as I became an adult, is when I switched to being Luciferian. What was the attraction to it? The ability to manipulate and ignorance. That's the easiest way to put it ignorance.
Speaker 2:And from what I understand talking with you, you like to study the Bible. So if you could twist it to a Christian and say, no, that's not what you're reading, and then you would give it from a different point of view of.
Speaker 3:Take everything out of context and twist it to whatever belief system you want.
Speaker 2:So if I came up to you and said, fred, that's not true. Now you know, jesus came in here to save you as a Luciferian, what would you tell me?
Speaker 3:Really all depends on the conversation and the feel of it. There was numerous different things that you could quote. You know there is there's a verse in the Bible where Jesus talks about bringing people before him and he will kill them.
Speaker 2:So you find things and a person is illiterate and they really don't know much of the Bible. You can pretty much talk to me into anything, huh.
Speaker 3:Unfortunately. That's where you have to have context.
Speaker 2:So if I came up to you, as you're doing a walk in life as a Luciferian, and I started telling you about Jesus, I know you'd ignore me, but when I walked away, would you try to cast a spell on me?
Speaker 3:It's not about casting spells. Pretty much I'd just laugh at you. I would curse you. You would curse me, not a at you, I would curse you, you would curse me, not a spell, but you know I would curse you. I would have asked Satan to make sure your day didn't go well.
Speaker 2:Now for parents out there listening are there some signs, if their children are doing certain things that they should be aware of, that maybe they are dancing with the devil?
Speaker 3:yeah, um man mannerisms reading material. Check their surfing history for what they're looking at on the web, what videos they're watching. When I was growing up, you had to read everything in a book. Nowadays, everything's at the touch of your fingers, and that makes it worse. Easier for open minds at a young age to read or hear the wrong information.
Speaker 2:You know, I've been around Satanists or Luciferians, I don't know, they didn't have a title, but you could tell you could feel the darkness. Did people look at you and kind of lock their car doors and hide their kids under the?
Speaker 3:table. I once had a pastor that met me. Tell my girlfriend's mom at the time to get rid of me. He was the most evil man he had ever seen, that you were the most evil man and all I did was say hello. There was a time where I was very angry, intimidating, hateful.
Speaker 2:Do you think a lot of people are attracted to the occult because part of it is rebellion rebellion against authority, rebellion against church, rebellion against parents.
Speaker 3:It's definitely where it starts, but doing the wrong thing is always easier than doing the right thing, and that's where most people start their drift.
Speaker 2:And you told me that one day you went into a church and you were going to check it out. Yeah, and you saw a cross in there.
Speaker 3:I didn't realize at the time that nobody else saw it, but I listened to the sermon and then I got up and walked across the church, pulled the chair up and tried to talk to God At the cross. Yeah, the cross was very bright, there's spotlights on the ceiling above it. But I sat down, tried to have a conversation and the silence was just overwhelming. At the time I didn't think I felt anything. Now I know I did. I tried to talk to God and I didn't feel or hear anything. So I wipe away the tears in my eyes and I leave, and then it kind of went from there.
Speaker 2:I would think that must just confirm to you. See, god doesn't care about me. I can't even talk to him in church.
Speaker 3:That ran through my mind all the time, and I was well known for making blasphemous comments.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you told me you had a Jeep. You named your Jeep. What was the name of that Jeep?
Speaker 3:I had one named Demon, and when I traded that one I got another one and named it Blasphemy. Blasphemy was the Jeep that I took to that church and apparently after the journey started, a couple of different people made comments about the fact that I'm showing up in a Jeep named blasphemy. My coworker who brought me to that church used to beg me to take that off once I had started my journey, and I told him no.
Speaker 2:You must have really hated God to have a Jeep named blasphemy.
Speaker 3:Hatred is hatred for other humans and hatred for yourself. So you had hate, a lot, a lot of anger and hate in my life. I despised God for a long time. There's no other word besides despise.
Speaker 2:And Christians, huh yeah.
Speaker 3:The majority of them, yes, yes, hypocrites in my eyes.
Speaker 2:Then, then. So then you end up going back to that same church. That's the day you met Jesus.
Speaker 3:It was actually that first day. I went and sat down that first day and again I said I didn't feel anything. Apparently I did, otherwise there wouldn't have been tears in my eyes and I probably wouldn't have had that conversation. But I went back the next Sunday to prove a point to my coworker who told me that the spotlights were never on. We got there walking through the area where the chairs and all are in front of the stage and where the cross is, and the spotlights are on.
Speaker 3:And my coworker, Chris, and his pastor were having a conversation about the fact that they hadn't had the lights on in months. They forgot that they were off.
Speaker 2:So they did not have the lights on, but you saw the lights on the cross.
Speaker 3:The wall wasn't lit up. The cross was.
Speaker 2:It was just the cross, that's all I saw, but you're the only one that saw it. You felt God beginning to work in your life.
Speaker 3:He lit that cross up just for me.
Speaker 2:Jesus said he left the 99 to come after that one.
Speaker 3:Yes.
Speaker 2:You were that one. He saw you hurting, he saw your hatred, he saw your anger and he wanted to get the hell out of your life.
Speaker 3:And I think that came down from meeting Chris helped. My wife apparently had been praying with me on a constant basis, or for me, and I never really understood praying for other people Between the two of them. My journey is still in progress, but I now know how many years ago was this?
Speaker 2:When did you come to Jesus?
Speaker 3:I would say about eight years ago. It was right after my son's death, which I believe was right at eight years ago. You lost a son. Yeah, he was shot by police officers in Ocean Springs, which is another long story.
Speaker 2:But that incident made you run to Jesus.
Speaker 3:No, that incident actually just made me a little more vulnerable and open. Wow, it confused me. So sorry to hear that, because at that time in my life I had no compassion or empathy or very little, and that started making me realize that something like this could happen to anybody, making me realize that something like this could happen to anybody. His death and my firstborn son is also gone. So you've lost two children yes, both of my sons from a previous relationship. Well, I'm so sorry to hear that, fred, I don't feel sorry for myself about it, it's just it wasn't easy for me to handle and you know I'm a manly man. I don't think it'd be easy for anybody to handle. I just kind of kept all my anger and my tears inside for the longest time and it started eating away at me.
Speaker 2:So the day that you finally trade in the title of Luciferian to a Christian Disciple, disciple, that had to have been a liberating day.
Speaker 3:Over the time that this journey has been making. I make huge steps, sometimes small steps, tom's small steps, but for the longest time, even going to church, I kept asking can I be saved? Is it possible? Because it is written that blasphemy is an unforgivable sin and not too many people have blasphemed as much as I was.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but blasphemy is not believing. But now you believe. So now the blasphemy is over with.
Speaker 3:I have no doubt that it's a little conceited, but I have no doubt that Jesus definitely died for my sins In fact, you renamed your Jeep.
Speaker 2:I saw it when you pulled it up in the parking lot. What's the name of your Jeep now?
Speaker 3:Redemption, redemption.
Speaker 2:Redemption. So I want you to talk to someone right now that darkness is all over their life. Maybe they're not dancing with the devil and they're not a Luciferian, but there's just darkness. They are attracted to the occult and they're not sure about this, jesus. And what would you tell that person? You're wrong.
Speaker 3:Your ideology is wrong, you've been lied to and he will keep lying to you. Jesus is the only thing that can save you.
Speaker 1:And.
Speaker 3:I would tell them that I'm a much calmer and I'm happier walking with Jesus.
Speaker 2:You know I say that a lot to the guests I talk to, that I can tell and you're one of them that you are a happy individual and you have a direction in life now, because God is bringing your purpose of why Fred Griswold was put on this planet. So every day is a new day, isn't it?
Speaker 3:Yes.
Speaker 2:Yes, so life is good. So what's your goals? What are the things that you're looking to do in the future?
Speaker 3:I'm actually in the process right now of a baptism, probably fairly quickly. I wanted to do it before my birthday, but that didn't happen. That's my last step and I'm going to keep, in my own way, preaching to others and blessing others with the fact that if I can make it, you can make it. If Paul could make it, you can make it. Amen.
Speaker 2:One thing I like to ask my guest, to you not what the Bible says, not what your friends say and not what your wife says. Who is Jesus?
Speaker 3:to you, my Savior. Jesus is my Savior. He is the cleanser of all my sins.

Speaker 3:Well, I'll give it my best shot. I'm not the best as far as praying goes.
Speaker 2:Hey God listens to the heart. It's not words, it's all your heart. Hey God listens to the heart.
Speaker 3:It's not words, it's all your heart. God, please bless all the people who are in doubt. Talk to those who can't hear your voice or feel your presence and let them know that you are there for them and that your word will help them become better people and bless their lives, so that Satan can't destroy them like he has tried, and let them know that your words overcome his lies. In your name, we pray that everybody can find a way home and be one of the 99. In Jesus' name, amen.

Speaker 5:At age 24, dwayne Allen's life was drugs, motorcycles and wild living.
Speaker 6:I was at a topless bar one night and here I am face-to-face with a topless dancer and she is on drugs, she's out of her mind, she looks me in the face and I look her in the face and it's someone that I have gone to high school with. I was paying for her to be there and that was the bottom end for me, because I knew there had to be more than what I had ever experienced.
Speaker 5:In a desperate move to find peace, Dwayne Allen landed in church.
Speaker 6:They said if you want to know the Prince of Peace, then would you come down front because he's here to meet you. And I went down front and he, the Prince of Peace, came to live in my heart and my old drug buddies would call and I would tell them that I had found the answer. And when I told them it was Jesus, they would just, with great shock in their voice, say I can't believe, you've become religious. I would begin to tell them oh no, I'm not religious, I'm a free man. I no longer hurt. I've met the Prince.
Speaker 5:And he's been following Jesus Christ ever since. Dwayne Allen is now a church pastor in Colorado.
Speaker 6:I'm not ashamed to let you know. I want this light in me to show.
Speaker 2:I'm not ashamed to speak the name. Welcome back listeners. Yes, I will not be ashamed of the name of Jesus. I want to thank Fred for coming into the studios to share his story, because I think a lot of us can relate to the darkness that surrounds us. I know I walked in the darkness for many years and it wasn't the occult, it was just I didn't know any better. I didn't really know who Jesus was. I heard about a Jesus of the Bible, but it was this legalistic Jesus. It was never really a loving, forgiving Jesus that was going to accept me for all my faults and all my goofiness. But he did.
Speaker 2:A few weeks ago, you saw, you may have heard the news that Harrison Butker, kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, was invited to speak at a private Catholic graduation. Now he is a devout Catholic and his words well, it offended a lot of people in the media, the non-Christian type people, the non-Christian type people. The NFL came out with a statement that the views of Harrison Bucker did not reflect the views of the NFL. There are some people now that want the Chiefs to get rid of him. What is it about the name of Jesus that just freaks out the non-believers. Just freaks out the non-believers.
Speaker 2:Well, jesus makes us do it. Let me explain. When we come to Christ and we have a conversion experience, there really is a transformation that takes place. The old self, our old sin-natured self, is replaced with a new nature. In other words, jesus comes in, takes his broom, sweeps out the house, sweeps all the stuff we hid under the carpet out of the house, and comes and lives with us. And there is no sin in us. We are a new creation. Christ is alive in us.
Speaker 2:Now let me tell you, friends, when you really understand and believe what was done in that conversion experience, how can you not tell someone about Jesus Again? Jesus made me do it. Made me do it. When you're sick all night long and you have fever and you just don't know what to do and you're praying for the Lord to help you, to help you get better and you get better, what do you do? You tell someone Again, jesus made me do it. When we have no direction in life, when we're looking for purpose and people have left us and they have abandoned us and we feel alone and isolated. But we meet Jesus in the crossroads and he changes our life forever, how can you not tell someone Again. Jesus made me do it.
Speaker 2:Friends, we are living at a time right now when people are looking for hope. They're finding hope in needles, in drugs, in alcohol, in pornography. They're doing anything they can to fill the void in their life. They just haven't been able to fill it. But one day and I will speak prophetically when they do find Jesus, they will notice the change in their life and I promise they will tell someone what Jesus did for them.
Speaker 2:Jesus makes us do it. Now. When I say Jesus makes us do it, no, it's not a command, it's not a rule, it's not a you must do this. We want to. We want to share it.
Speaker 2:We lost a hundred pounds of old baggage and sin when we got Jesus into our heart. We have freedom. We can dream. Our talents, skills and abilities grow in areas that we never knew they could grow in, because Jesus has a plan for us. Jesus is going to take us out into the marketplace. Jesus is going to show the world him through us, through our talents, our skills and our abilities. Jesus makes us do it.
Speaker 2:Friends, this is your time, this is my time, this is everyone's time to quit listening to all the noise and the negative things happening in this world. Quit believing the lies of the world and believe in Jesus. He is the truth and the way. And, yes, he will give you peace, he will give you rest, he will forgive your sins, he will give you a life that you will just share. Jesus, whether it's in conversation or through your actions or your deeds, jesus makes you do it. So if anybody ever tells you you talk about Jesus too much, you're a little too religious, you're a little too churchy, say well, I'm sorry too churchy, say well, I'm sorry Jesus made me do it.

Since the beginning of time until 1836, it took weeks and months to communicate over long distances. Then a man named Samuel Morse invented the most revolutionary communications device in history the telegraph. When the Lord wanted to bestow this gift on mankind, he had to use someone. I'm just grateful that he chose to reveal it to me Samuel Morse, inventor of the 19th century internet, the telegraph and Morse code. No wonder the first words ever sent across telegraph wires were look, what God has done.

Providing total forgiveness and cleansing this finished work of Jesus means that we no longer need to strive or work to earn God's favor or forgiveness. We can rest in the assurance that our salvation is secure and that we are fully accepted by God because of what Jesus has done for us. Now back to Ron.
Speaker 2:Well, friends, my time is up, and Memorial Day weekend. When I grew up, it was called Decoration Day to us and we would go and decorate the graves of our loved ones that had died in war. It was a fun day. Our relatives would get together then at a park and we would have a big family picnic. You know the softball, the kickball, the hamburgers, the hot dogs, the watermelon. Such a wonderful, wonderful memory, and thank God for memories. So, this Memorial Day weekend, enjoy yourself, Spend some time with the family.
