In December 1994, a peace concert took place in Freetown, Sierra Leone, during a civil war. In this episode, Yinka Rickford-Anguin delves into the story behind the making of Jamaa Fest and gives us a first-hand account of the show’s inception, evolution, aftermath, and legacy by one of the primary organizers of the concert in 1994. Jamaa Fest, Sierra Leone’s Forgotten Festival, first aired on Afropop Closeup,  Afropop.org, in September 2022.  It was Produced and Narrated by Yinka Rickford-Anguin.
