What are prefixes and how do I add them?

Some podcasters may want access to additional metrics or may want to give sponsors access to download data. If you are working with a service like Chartable, Podtrac, OP3, or Podcorn, you may need to add a prefix to your RSS feed. We can help!

What is a prefix?

A prefix URL is a trackable URL that's placed directly in the RSS feed of a podcast. It allows third-party services like Chartable, Podtrac, OP3, and Podcorn to gather additional information through all download requests that come through your show's RSS feed.

How do I add my prefix to the RSS feed?

When you sign up to use one of the companies mentioned above, you will receive your prefix URL. You will be prompted to add that prefix URL to your RSS feed. To do that, email the Buzzsprout Success Team at support@buzzsprout.com and we will add the prefix for you! Don't worry, we won't add a prefix URL to your RSS feed without a request coming from you.

Note: You can have up to 3 prefixes on your RSS feed at one time. So if you plan to use multiple services, keep track of how many you use at once.

If you have any questions about adding a prefix or want to remove a prefix from your feed, email our team and we can help - support@buzzsprout.com
